Thanks Sue and Tracii, good to hear from you!

Just a quick question...during IVF I read Zita West as my bible. Do you have any recommendations for getting me through the next few months?

We have a second scan on Thursday 18th to check for a heartbeat. My nerves are shot! The roller coaster doesn't stop does it? I still have no symptoms of anything and if we hadn't seen the scan you wouldn't believe what was happening.

I hope you two lovely ladies are well and happy. I remember you being so supportive of me during the last few months. Thanks x

Take care
Hugs all round

Anna- sorry i have no words of wisdom with how to cope with the wait, i just remember it feeling worse than the 2ww (sorry), but once you get to the 1st scan you can breath again, dh cried, i was stuned as i couldnt allow myself to believe it had happened incase it went away. Although i had been pregnant 4 times that was the 1st time i had seen a heartbeat and it truly was amazing. Not long for that scan, cant wait

lots of love

Sue, thanks for message. Hope you are OK today. I still have no symptoms of anything! I know I should be grateful but I really would appreciate a little sign from my body that something is going on!!

I have bought a book called 'What to expect when you're expecting', it is good at describing what is going on month by month. Are you reading anything?

So glad to see your message about seeing the heartbeat. How thrilling and exciting for you and dp! Wishing you a continued happy and healthy pregnancy :D

Take care

Hi Anna

Congratulations!
Just to say that I bought loads of pregnancy books (far too many!) and the one I referred to all the time was the 'What to expect' one. It always reassurred me and answered my questions.

I can also still remember the wait before and between scans. I actually found it harder than the 2ww!

Hope all goes well for you over the next 8 months and you enjoy every moment!

Love kim

Anna,

At the beginning i had no symptoms and then suddenly about week 6-8 the sickness kicked in and it was horrific, i didnt believe it would be so bad. Most days i was coated in the stuff at least once!!!! dh was a star though and would chase around after me with a bucket. So take it from me, enjoy being symptom free while it lasts. It will all seem real soon enough at the scan.

I bought a magazine called 'im pregnant' and i have read it numerous times, got lots of information about development, various tests, SMP etc, which i found really useful.

Im ok, felt bubble moving lots last night, felt more like proper kicks and not just bubbles, very weird. Getting to sleep at night is terrible, normally fall off about 3am, not looking forward to when im back at school as i normally get up at 7, at least while im off i can go back to bed, after all i need all the beauty sleep i can get.

loads of love

Anna: Another good book that I found is: "Your pregnancy week by week." It gives you week by week changes and advice, instead of monthly updates. I also found a website that charts your weekly development. It is: pregnancy.org/ This website tells you how big your baby is every week. It also charts the baby's development.

Regards,
Tammy

Hello ladies, hope everyone Ok today. Thanks for the info on reading material.

I will check out the website Tammy, cheers.

Am off to visit my sister this week. Dp and I have decided not to tell anyone about our news until 12 weeks but this visit is going to kill me! Need a really good excuse for not drinking and why my alarm is set for 7am, 3pm and 11pm ( so I remember to take my meds!)

Sue, when do you go back to school? Like you, I am taking it easy during the holidays, getting up late and resting. Really not looking forward to the shock of having to be up and at work early each day!

Waiting between scans is a killer. I though the 2ww was bad! Also DP can't make our apptmt on Thurs due to a work commitment so I am going to have to change it! ARRGGHH, more waiting, but I couldn't go without him!

Hugs to all here
Bye for now

anna,

I really hope that you dont have to wait too long for your new scan, i wouldn't have the patience. I go back to school on the 5th September, the first 2 days are inset days. When are you back?

I waited ages to tell my family and friends, i told a few at 16 weeks and the majority when i was 24 weeks !!! the longer i left it the easier it got to keep the secret. Hoping you can be as sneaky as me at your sisters!!! Being on antibiotics is probably the best one, as you are not allowed to drink and with most have to take 3 a day, which would also explain the alarms. You would just have to think what your illness will be.

It's going to be hard getting back into the routine and then i will be on maternity leave the week after October halfterm, so its not long now. In many ways it seems very near and in others so far.

take care

love
