Dory, Best of luck

Post by samandaw1 »

Rachel,

I just wanted you to know how wonderful you appear to be. I have been a member of this website for the past month and every day when I check it there is an encouraging word/post from you despite all of what you are going through.

I have been following your posts and actually cried when I got your BFN. I wanted to so badly for you and I imagine for many other people. I know you have one more shot at it and I wish you the best of luck. The only thing I can say is MUST be your turn. I get superstitious when it comes to babies. I just feel that when it is right it is right because too much can go wrong when all things do not line up.

I read that after your next attempt (which I do feel success) you may start the adoption process. I have a brother who is adopted and have always wanted to do that myself. I think a mother is a mother is a mother. You are just waiting for your child.

Best of luck to you and your DH. Enjoy the states and let us know if there is anything we can do.

Sincerely,

Sam

I could not agree more. You are the reason I posted in the first place. Your comraderie is amazing. I don't know you, but I feel like I am very lucky to have had this contact with you. I hope your family and your DH recognize just how special you are. In this day and age, it is so rare to find a person so caring. I truly appreciate it. Thank you again for all your unfaltered support. You are truly special.

Sincerely,
Amy

Ladies (and any guys who might be reading),

As Dory's Better Half (yes, its true  ), I thought I had to come on here and see what all the fuss was about, and just what my darling Dory was spending all her time doing on her computer. Now I know - despite all of her (or should it be 'our') problems, she is on here supporting and encouraging everybody else going through similar issues as us.

I'll tell you guys something - I have never had the pleasure of meeting anyone as caring, compassionate & generous as my darling Dory. What she has done here is truly in her character - think of others before thinking of yourself. That said, I've never known anyone quite so determined, bloody-minded and passionate about becoming a mother either. Quite how she copes with all the failures, let downs and knock backs is quite unbelievable - thankfully you ladies (and guys) on this forum are as much help, support and encouragement to her as she is to you. I try to be her rock, but more often than not I'm no better than a soggy wet tissue.

It's interesting somebody raises the issue of family support. I guess its difficult seeing as we're 4500 miles away from home, but I've really got the impression from our family, on both sides, over the past 12 months that they truly do not comprehend what we are going through. I guess its something you don't understand until it affects you personally, but certainly up to now our family support has been pretty lame. Thankfully, this is where you guys come in; I can't speak for Dory (God forbid if I ever did), but some of you folks can almost be considered family the way she speaks of you. I would just like to thank you all for the wonderful and compassionate support you have offered to Dory.

I'd love to say more, but I'd best get back to work - I could ramble on for hours extolling Dory's virtues. Reading this thread and typing this message has just brought another tear to my eye. Once again, thank you all!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ladies, and my darling Mark, i don't know what to say, you have me in tears and complete shock.

You are all so kind and so very supportive, you are like a second family to me. As Mark said our family doesn't even comprehend what we are ALL going through and to be honest don't really care.
When i found this site, it was a dream come true, (well part of one) then i get to know you all and realise that we are all in the same boat and all going through such a difficult time, some more than others, but we have all stuck together and having you all in my life to help me through all of this heartache and pain has been the most wonderful gift. So the least i can do, is to support you all as much as i can, and help you, as you have all helped me.

I have been through a lot and feel that this has made me a stronger person, and i think it has given me the ability to be there for anyone who needs a shoulder to cry on or someone to yell at.

I must admit that i do get down and even jealous when everyone else around me is getting pregnant, after all i am only human, but don't get me wrong i am so over joyed for them all and wouldn't wish it any other way.... Well apart from maybe me getting a bit of luck in the not to distant future.

Thank you all so much for your kind and caring thoughts, you are such good friends and "family"......

Wishing you all, all the luck in the world for your futures, whatever path you are taking.......

Oh and Mark,
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, YOU ARE THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME AND I DON'T MIND EVERYONE KNOWING THAT... You may even get lucky tonight...hehehehe.

Sorry if you need buckets now...

Thank you again
HUGS

Thank you all so very much for your kind thoughts, words and well wishes.
You are an amazing and couragous group of ladies and gents, you are all going through hell and deserve a lot better.
You all hold this site together with all the love and support you give.
I would have never made it through the last year or so, of IVF without you guys....
How we all manage to stay sane and composed is a miracle, and i put it down to, love, support, kindness, open hearts and the positve attitude we all give each other.

We are one big family, and i'm so very previledged to be a part of it.

Good luck to you all
