August Testing

Thanks Racheal, I'm really nervous waiting for the embryologist to call me today. Last time I had really bad results and we thought we had 12 follicles, then they told me they only got 5, then called me a couple hours after egg retrieval and told me they only had 2 bad quality eggs. This time, they told me right after the egg retrieval they got 25 follicles, but I'm not too confident with my history, so I asked to have the embryologist call me today to at least tell me what the quality was as I can't wait until tomorrow!!!

Well it's all over for us this cycle.

My HCG numbers aren't rising.

Hi all,
can't believe I got a BFP from my first icsi cycle and feel so lucky.

However, 1st scan 3 weeks on 31 aug and v nervous about it all being ok.

Good luck to everyone - especially those of you that I was chatting to and the thread I was using - keeping everything crossed for you all

i was jus wondering my clinic told me only about the positive test and no HCG level n Beta as i noticed on this site that ladies came to know on their test day. my nurse said she cant tell n v can know only in our scan. is it ok?

Sarali not all clinics do blood tests and not all tell you the results.

Kelly - we got 25 eggs from 24 follies, 15 fertilised and we are still using them now this will be our 4th attempt.
It only takes one and we are hoping it will be in our last attempt.
I think the phrase " quality not quantity" is very true, it's great to have lots of eggs but if they don't work, whats the point of having them all...
Don't worry you will get the one good one you need...

Amy/Sarali congratulations to you both, remember to take it easy and look after yourselves.

We're now starting to accept our BFN and are possibly thinking about a FET in a few months time, if we can gather the funds together. We're going to spend some time looking after each other in the meantime. We're also seriously considering getting a puppy

so we can learn to enjoy life a bit more. That unconditional love thing sounds very appealing to me at the moment.

Fingers crossed for the rest of the tww's.

Lindy - Great idea on having some quiet time and loving a puppy. It is a great idea. The dog will help ease the pain until you are ready for the transfer.

Well I had my next test - now remember my test on Tuesday I had a whopping beta hcg of 2. I basically wrote it all off.... until I got a call today that my number was up to 20. Now I am still trying to be cautiously optimistic, but I was thrilled to see that there might even be a chance. I take another bt on Saturday so I will let you all know how it goes then!

Well, I got the call this morning that of the 25, 19 were mature and we did icsi on. 3 didn't fertilize (were bad quality eggs anyways), 2 fertilized abnromally, and 4 didn't survive the ICSI, so we have 10 fertilized embyo's. I know I should be happy, but I thought out of 19, we would get a few more. Guess I can't be greedy at this point. Our transfer is scheduled on Saturday. Wish us luck. Good luck to all those out there on their 2WW.
