Jeck - Thank you for the warm welcome. I am so excited about finally having someone to talk to about all this. I'm on hold this month because I have a few cysts that need to go away so I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will be gone and I can get going. I find the waiting to be the worse part. I was lucky with the IUI and did not have any bad side effects from the meds (I was only on Clomid) but am terrified of the injectibles. I am not one to take any kind of medication unless I really have to. Can you give the injectibles to yourself? My husband works nights and will not be home to give them to me. So I'm not sure how we will work it. My RE did tell me about the class and I am looking foward to finding out all the steps. I was also planning on taking off after the ER. I have no idea what to tell my job (I have not told anyone and would prefer not to) but I am sure they are not going to be happy.

Have a great day everyone!

Nance--I have taken clomid before but it gave me headaches!

I thought my hubby would have to give me all the shots but I did the lupron and the stims myself. They are little needles and not bad at all, I usually gave them in my thighs or belly.

The hcg and progesterone in oil shots are a different story they are a much bigger needle and hubby gives me those and did a really great job. There are some ladies that have given the PIO shots themselves so it can be done!!

I plan on taking off after they start monitoring my follies. I live 2 1/2 hrs from clinic and so I will be on the road a lot. I have not told work yet either and I know they won't like it. I called in sick for the first IVF and took off the bare minimal. No one knew what I was doing and I really don't want to tell them this time but I am because I want to take off and put all my energy into this!

Dory - I am amazed to have you in this group. I have read many of your posts and I hope this will be your time. I too am on my last (only) time. If the IVF doesn't work, I will adopt. I don't the funds or the emotional strength you seem to have. My prayers are with you and your DH.

Nictor - I also wish you luck. I know how it is with a your DP, I too have one who is worried. He worries I will not be able to pull myself out of the depression if it doesn't work. He might be right to worry, but it is hard not to put everything on this cycle. Lots of Baby Dust to you!

Jeck - I am looking forward to your posts. I seem bubblely and happy dispite our situations.

Tonia - Great big buckets of luck to you. I look forward to getting to know all of you!

shelton - You live in Georgia! I miss that area. I have not been back to Georgia in about 4 years. It is beautiful up there. My grandfather and one of my grandmothers live/lived there. My grandmother moved to Oklahoma after her house blew up due to a gas leak during an improvement. Good luck to you!

AMD - I hope the money comes! I know this hardship well! GL

Filipa - Seeing how all of you know each other makes this easier. You all seem to be each others little angels.

Nance - I too am new to this. We will have loads of questions I am sure, but are in good hands here. Good luck!

Hello All!!!

I just wanted to see how everyone is doing?? Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

I got some odd and ends done this weekend. We bought a house across from our Poultry Farm and completely gutted it and redid everything. The last day that the carpenters were there I decided to have them move a light switch. It was on the outside of the bathroom and I thought I could live with it but last minute I knew I couldn't. Well they moved it and patched it but it needed to dry before they but the final coates of mudd on it before it could be repainted. This all happen in January and we have been trying to get the guy to come back out and finish it up. I finally had enough and decided I could do it, so me and hubby applied more mudd and sanded it and painted it!!! WooHoo!! Its finished!!!

I have an appt for acupuncture on Sept. 5th. I am excited, I did it with my FET cycle, althought I didn't get a BFP, it sure did help in relieveing some stress!! I am going to try someone new this time because it will be easier to go during my lunch hour. I hope I like him and that he is good!

Also, at my clinic we are assigned an IVF nurse for the cycle and I love mine and she emailed me today to let me know that she is leaving the clinic. I am so bummed. I really like her and she is so sweet. She has always eased my fears and was very reassuring. I hope the next one is as sweet and as good as her!!

I guess I have rambled enough... Hope all is well! Look forward to hearing from you all!

Hi girls

Sorry it's been so long since i posted, but not much going on here and you all look like your doing great....

We are stuck in the calm before the storm, everybody waiting eagerly to get started....

Well i'm enjoying my time out, we have been doing IVF none stop for a year now and so need this break... I am trying to arrange a romantic and relaxing holiday in Mexico for me and DH to find each other again, we both soooooooo need it. We have been TTC for nearly six years now, some +tives, but they all turned to dust, so to say.........
This as i said before is our last attempt ( well so we say at the mo) so we are praying that it works, but we are also trying to come to terms that we may not have children of our own.

Jeck - I know how you feel about losing your nurse - when i got my BFN from my dr, he also told us the sad news he was leaving (good timing NOT!!!)
The dr we are changing to is a nice man a bit scatty, but good at his job, he has dealt with us a few times when our Dr has been out of town...
He also removed my last ectopic and done a good job..

One good thing that has come out of our Dr leaving is he's going to a new clinic built especailly for him and he has offered us his services pro bono , if this cycle doesn't work. Also we would get all the drugs free if we use some new ones being tested, so instead of the fresh cycle costing $11,000 it would be about $1500. So DH and i are very much considering it.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and everything is moving smoothly for you all...

Take Care
HUGS

Rachel--Mexico trip sounds fab!!! We want to take a trip but everything revolves around having a baby. My dream trip is Tahiti!! Hubby says that if this doesn't work this time we are going to plan our dream trip!! As much as I would love to go I hope it is put on hold for a BFP!!

Gosh, I hate that your dr is leaving :( It is really hard to find a great dr!! That is so great that he offered you a cycle!! I hope you don't need it, but it is nice to have a backup plan!!

I didn't think we would be able to do another cycle and that is why this last BFN was so hard on me. I so hope that this is going to be the one! I hope that I am not reading to much into getting our drugs for free and that this is really God's way of telling me not to give up!!

Hi Ladies,

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. My DH and I are doing some re-modeling to our kitchen so I spent the weekend in the basement staying out of the way of the contractors and making sure my cat did not freak out from all the noise and commotion and bolt out the door.

Jeck - Do you find that acupunture helps? I am willing to try anything to help me relax but the idea of someone sticking tiny needles in me does not seem very relaxing.

Dory - Mexico sounds fantastic. Are you staying at a resort?

Have a great day everyone.

We can only afford to go because we got some money back on all the IVF we have done, we had 2 choices=

1- keep hold of it in case the next cycle doesn't work, and use it for another cycle, which will probably not work and it will have been wasted.

2- spend it on a good holiday and relax and enjoy ourselves.....

WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE????

We opted for no 2, what the hell, we had already written the money off, and we need some TLC time, so look out Mexico here we come.......

We are going to Cancun, hopefully the Dreams Luxury Resort and Spa, we did look at the Moon Palace, but it didn't look so romantic.......

We are hoping to go around the 23rd Sept which is our 6th wedding anniversary and i still won't be worrying about meds...

Take care

Rachel -- I think it is a great idea for vacation, might be just what you need for this next to work!!

Nance -- I know the idea of little needles sticking you seems weird, I know I did and was skeptical. It is a really weird thing to describe. It doesn't hurt when he puts the needles in, it just feels... weird. Its not like a pin prick on your finger which hurts. When he would but the needle in I would watch and my brain was like "he just put a needle in me" but my body was "huh, that didn't feel like I thought it would"!! My session went like this: he would but needles in certain spots and then turn the lights out and turn on music of my choice (I chose Kenny G!) and let me lay there for 20 minutes. I called it my weekly afternoon nap! When I left there I would be in such a wonderful mood, like a carefree teenager without any adult responsibilities!! My attitude on it, is that it couldn't hurt so why not try and if I don't like it I don't have to do it again!! I hope I didn't totally confuse you I tend to ramble and jump around!!

Let me know what you decide!!

Good Luck!!

Rachel--You made me laugh out loud on that one!!!! Actually he put them around my wrists, on my feet, and just under my knees. One of the needles he would put on the underside of my wrist and it would always fall out and he said that point was for hormones and I was weak in that area... Well duh!!!! But I thought it was interesting. I also learned that your kidneys is one of your most important organs and that was my foundation and he worked on that first and worked up to focusing on certain problems.

HI everyone!!!! I'm back.. we were in South Carolina visiting my Mom and her husband (yuck)

I have 2 months and 2 weeks for IVF.. LOL seems sooo long.. but that is for the ER and ET so I don't have to wait much longer for the meds to start..

I am looking forward to haveing my body back for a few months... lol

OH I also got the results from my Hysto back and all looked great... so the only issue we have to overcome is the Natural killer cells.. (joy)

I am sorry for no personals and gabbing all about me.. but I only have a minute but wanted you all to know that I am still alive...

 Hi girls

Hope you don't mind me butting in. I am already in the first October Buddies group from last year and we are still together but since i am probably going to be doing my 3rd cycle of ivf in Oct i thought i would come in for a chat.

As you can see from the list below i have just had both tubes removed due to Hydrosalpinx so once that hurdle is over i will be starting my meds around the second week of October. Hopefully we can keep each other motivated until we see our BFP lines flashing through

Dory - Good choice about the hol. We went to Mexico, Riviera Maya last year and it was the best, didn't want to leave. Lucky girl, have fun.

Catch up with you all soon
