Hello, I'm back.

Sorry I haven't emailed recently, but I have been putting my feet up since EC and ET (call me lazy).

A quick update!!! I had EC on Friday and was a little bit dissapointed. I had about 20 follicles, but only managed 5 eggs. 3 of them fertilised and I had them put back on Monday. Apparently they were both good quality. The Clinic kept telling me it is quality that matters not quantitiy:-) DH came in with me for ET this time, and so that was quite nice - it made me relax a bit more.

I feel fine in myself, although I am beginning to get some quite sharp pains in my tummy, which I didn't get the first time. Does anyone know what they might be? I have another question too. Does anyone know roughly when the embryos enbed? I thought I had read somewhere that it is usually around the 48 hour mark!

Good luck to everyone, I have everything crossed for all of you.

Big Big hugs to you all.

Love

Donna
XXXXX

Hi Donna
Nice to see you back, dont blame you taking it easy.....
Dont forget-it only takes 1!!! so many girls have posted in similar situations & have got +++

I read on someones thread(not sure which-think it was one I posted for advise re a band show) that embryos usually embed about day 3 after ET so this could be the niggly pains(hope so!!) I also read that you can get late implantation at about day 9. Im no expert and I would imagine it is different for everyone...

Fingers crossed for you....
When do you test?? Do you have to do a hpt or blood test?

Sarah
xx

p.s-I just checked it was post from me dated 02/09 on pg2 titled "any advice girls" & it was Kate who gave me some advice..Im sure she will read your post & give you some advice

[Edited by SJ BROWN on 10-Sep-03 05:51]

Sarah,

Thanks for the info. I guess you are right, we are probably all different.

I test on Friday 19th. The Clinic have told me to do a HPT first and then if the result is positive to then get it confirmed.

So far I am getting through the 2WW OK, but it is early days I guess - something tells me it is going to get worse :-)

All my love,

Donna
XXX

Hi,
Kate hope those cysyts have gone tomorrow at your scan!
Sarah - so hope that you're about to get the go ahead for tomorrow and that you're little frosties survive!!
Donna - we're both on 2ww together - I had E/T on Thurs and I'm starting to get abit fed up - going through the positive mindset one min and then panicking that it hasn't worked. This is our 9th and final attempt! The Park hosp tols me 2-5 days for implantation whereas I'd always been told around 2 days before! I too have had a few cramps - hope that means implantation for us both!
Julyann - how are you feeing? I won't be able to wait until 23rd for test results - like you I'll have tested well before that!
Di
Hello to everyone!

July Ann and Nikola, if I remember right, looks like all 3 of us will have our ET on Saturday. The embryologist called me yesterday to let me know that all 10 eggs fertilized. Although at first I thought the ET would be on Thursday, he said most likely it will be on Saturday. He is going to call me Thurdsay morning to let me know if I need to come straight to the office or if it is going to be Saturday. Has anyone had a day 5 transfer instead of a day 3 and know the reason why? I was so excited to hear that all 10 eggs fertilized and wanted to call my friends and family that I didn't take the time to ask him.
I haven't been given any grades yet but am hopeful that I will have at least 2 good grades out of the 10.

Sarah, big day tomorrow. Can't wait to hear how it went.

Donna, in a few days I'll be analyzing every pain too. How many days after ET did you just lay around completely. If I have Saturday ET, I was planning on going back to work on Monday. Does anyone have any advice about how long I need to be "extra" lazy.

I hope everyone is feeling well and positive.

Val

hi girls

glad you got in touch donna we were worried about you. Did you have three put back in, so glad ec went well.i'm sure i have read that those pains could a sign of implantation. i really hope so.

val well done to get all those eggs fertilized if i got half that amount i would be happy. it looks like they are going for blastocyst with your eggs when you have them put back on day five it increases your chances to 50% there is info on top line of page.of course i'm no expert but it is worth reading.
from july ann

Hi all!

I guess technically I belong in ACB, but since I've ducked in here before, I thought I'd see how you were all doing.

Val-great news about the fertilization. Doing a 5 day transfer is really the best and gives you the best odds. Some clinics in the US and Canada report success rates as high as 67%.
July An-Good luck tomorrow. Remember, it only takes one!!
Di-Hang-in there on your 2WW. I couldn't believe how much more difficult things got the closer I got to test date. You'll make it and I look forward to reading your good news.
Katie-I hope the cysts have cleared up. As for dos and don’ts – Don’t stress (yeah right), lay down as much as possible, definitely no bath (my RE didn’t let me shower and said I had to stay in bed constantly except for bathroom breaks), and be sure your dh is giving you lotsa TLC.
SJ Brown-Glad to hear you’re a go with the FET, and am sending good vibes that the defrost goes well.
Donna Fi-I’m pretty sure embryos implant around day 5-6 following fertilization. As for the pains, I got them too. Sometimes I felt crampy, but now and then I’d get a really sharp pain like someone was wringing-out my uterus. Hope it’s a good sign – it was for me!
Karen-Hope your lining is nice and thick by now. You referred to crystals in an earlier post – what are you using? A friend gave me a set to wear and I felt so silly about them that I haven’t really told anyone about them (but of course wore them religiously!).
Nikola-Good luck tomorrow – don’t forget PMA, PMA!

Sorry if I missed anyone. It seems like there are so many SCBs (which I am sure is good luck!) Thanks again for all of your support and my thoughts are with you all.
