hi girls just spoke to the clinic and out of the 12, 4 have fertilized so really pleased as i needed to have 2 put back in or i would not beable to get the lif drug. i have to go in at 8 saturday for test and then they will give me the lif drug and then on to et. i'm just taking it one step at a time and feel really positive. i have been really naughty and have had a couple of ciggs, do not tell my dh. once they are safe inside my tummy i will not smoke i promise... nikola snap we have the same number, did you have icsi. val well done, can not beleive that we are on et all on the same day. sarah are you still on for saturday well catch up with you all soon from july ann

Hi all, scan this morning was fine, I have 8 follicles growing nicely, so looks like EC Weds next week fingers crossed (though still could be Friday depending on how they all grow). I don't know why I have got more than last time but the Dr said it could be anything, I could just be more relaxed this time round. So off for another scan Monday afternoon and another cetrotide injection to get my eggs developing. Nikola I'm hoping mine goes the other way - I only got one egg last time and I want loads more this time. Just goes to show every cycle is different I suppose. Glad to see everyone else is getting along nicely and still being positive, it's going to be a good month, I can feel it! Lots of love Kat xx [Edited by Kat on 12-Sep-03 11:13]

July ann - I'm so pleased you managed to get 4 fertislised, see! I told you not to give up. I go today too, for ET in a couple of hours. I hate this bit, I find it more uncomfortable than the EC. I've felt fine since EC - no real pain. In fact I took my dogs out for a walk yesterday without any real problems, so lets hope today won't be too bad! We didn't have ICSI just straight IVF, dh thinks its cos he has super sperm.....whatever! Have you read Alan Carr's book on how to give up smoking? I promise you its the best £7.99 you will ever spend. I used to smoke and in March, I decided I needed to stop, not just whilst having tmt but forever! I bought his book at the train station in KX on my way home to Leeds, I'd had a very heavy partying weekend and felt sick from smoking/drinking so much. I'd read 80 pages by the time I got off the train (there are only about 120 pages altogether - its only a little book). I can honestly say I've NEVER had a cigarette since. Whats even better I look a people smoking and really feel sorry for them, I don't feel envious, which is how I've felt before when I've 'given up'. Honestly you should read it. It really does work!! Just try it - you get your money back if it doesn't work! Right lecture over, good luck with ET today, I'm ready to hold your hand for the next two weeks!! When do you test? Mine is Thurs 25th! Hi Thought Id pop in to see how everyone is doing-wow!! so much going on. loads of EC & ET at the mo-hope everyones went well. I agree Nikola, its my first ET & I found it quite painful-was not expecting this so was quite a shock-I have long nails so poor DH was in a lot of pain too!! Not sure how I should be feeling at the mo.I just feel normal, should I feel different?? Had a really bad migraine after ET & hospital said ok to take paracetamol-resisted until yesterday afternoon, headache was making me feel sick so took some paracetamol-OMG-I really hope I have not blown it.. Oh well, must stay positive Good luck to everyone & lets pray for a bumper month!! Sarah xx

Hi, Sarah - don't worry re paracetamol - that is def. the one you're ok with and better to have a couple than a bad head! Hope everything goes ok for Val, Julyann and Nikola that ET went ok. Hi, just to say fingers crossed that everything goes OK for all of you having ET today. I am feeling v fat today & hoping it means my follicles are growing and multiplying nicely. I went to bed last night and completely forgot to do my injections and then leapt out a few minutes later and did them - can't believe I could forget - maybe I'm just a bit too relaxed about everything this time. Or maybe I am losing the plot completely. Thinking of you all, Lots of love Kat xx

hi girls well had et today and all went really well felt really relaxed. had a little sleep this afternoon. we had 2 put back in and they frozr three all at grade one's. i have had grade one's before but really pleased. i have had my first injection of lif and i have to take 2 paracetamol half an hour before then injection twicw a day. sarah i would not worry about taking a couple look how much i'm taking. di hope you feel more positive now it's not over until it's over and why should it not be your turn. stay positive.. nicola i will try and get that book i never smoke when my eggies are put back. you were so right about my eggs. i have a test date for 26 of september but i know i will test early, the 25 is our wedding aniversary so might bring us luck.. kat glad to hear you are so relaxed.hope those eggs are growing well speak to you soon the two weeks starts.. from july ann

Hi everybody, Big sorry if I miss anyone!! July Ann-really glad your et went well..another on the dreaded 2ww Nikola-hope you did not have too much discomfort!! and welcome to the 2ww as well!! Kat-dont forget those injections again girl!! I set my reminder on my phone, mind you I sometimes switch it off and 10 minutes later still have not taken tablets!!! It must be our hormones!! Why our hubbies cant take on the responsibility is beyond me-if I relied on my hubby to remember....well....enough said. Feeling fat is a good sign-lots of big follies-or too many mars bars!! Di-not long now, try & stay positive & dont worry about tears!! You cry as much as you like, can I ask why its now or never?? (dont answer if you dont want just being curious) Hayley-are you still injecting? any dates yet for EC? Val-hope your ET went ok..Was it today?? Karen-have not heard from you for a couple of days-I hope your frosties were ok & are tucked up nice & snug now. According to my paperwork i calculate my test date as 26th but nurse at FET said 25th. Not sure what to do as I have next week off work as Annual leave & go back mon 22nd. I had booked 26th of as AL.. DO you think it will be ok to test a day late as do not want to test before going into work? hi one and all. sorry i've not posted lately, but it's been a busy time. i have been keeping an eye, just not getting time to post, so here i am... i have a scan on monday to see how the follies are going. and if all is well i will have the EC on weds and the ET on friday. i am as fat as a fool{nothing new there then}, using this as a great excuse to eat every choccie bar invented. DH also following suit, and yes we are the ones who you constantly here moaning about our weight.... anyway enough of all that. i am glad to hear that all your ET went well and so many good eggs. nikola - about that book. i'm not a smoker but as i just said i am an eater, and he also wrote a book about "how to lose weight", i have read this 3 times and either i am very slow to let things steep into my irish brain or maybe its just not my time... but i am still overweight. not one ounce lighter. do you think i could have my money back? i could buy a nice pound of thorntons choccies.ha! ha! hi hayley - what part of the emerald isle are you from? kat - looks like we are roughly around the same time. there seems to be soooo much positive talk and everyone expeting to get pregnant that i'm really feeling the buzz from everyone. i am so excited. just wish the headaches would ease up a little. anyhow, gotta go as it's 1.51a.m and might do some ironing... love and prayers to everyone jackieT xx

Morning all Jackie - what an earth were you doing up and ironing at 2am - please tell me you are a nurse or some other job that works shifts rather than just a nutter! I watched insomnia last night with Al Pacino (v.good film) and thought of you!!! I always wake up early to post and just as I'm up you must be going to bed!! Now on the subject of food/weight - aswell as smoking and drinking too much I've also gone through a time where I've eaten too much!! I swear by weight watchers, I joined a couple of years ago and lost 1.5 stone in three months, its easy. Now I just go along if I feel I've put on a few too many pounds and need shouting at! Give it a try - although not whilst you are on tmt, this is bad enough without counting points! Good luck with your EC/ET next week. July ann - yippeeee! Fantastic news about your ET. Told you not to give up. Five grade 1's - that is brilliant. Now put your feet up and we can compare notes about daytime tv - are you taking time off, or do you have to work? Val how did yours go? I hope you have two great embies tucked up inside. You take it easy too and put your feet up in the florida sun...sounds far more glamorous than rainy Leeds! Sarah - always love your posts, they are always even longer than mine!! It won't matter if you test a day late, I don't know if I could bear the suspense. I test on Thurs 25th too. Lets hope its a happy day for us both (and july ann). I'm going to start a new thread with test dates for us all, so we can keep track of who is testing when! Alison - how are you? Has the lovely AF showed up yet? This must be some kind of record! Kat - you are a wally, I can you forget to inject!!! I'll have to send my dh round, he wouldn't let you forget! Are you on 2ww now? I think that is everyone.....oh except me! I had ET yesterday and as we expected after such a poor response this time, my embies are not great, BUT we have 2 x 2.5's back and we'll just have to wait and see. Not many people get pg with such poor quality embies, but as dh and I said last night, we've got more chance of getting pg with them inside than not, so we'll just wait and see. Hi all, you will be pleased to know I did remember my injections last night so have not lost it completely. Now, a question about sex. If EC is Wednesday should we have sex Sunday or Monday night? I reckon Sunday as then DH's bits & pieces have about 2 1/2 days to get optimum quality sperm - anyone heard any different? Or does it not make that much of a difference? Jackie - yes looks like we should be the same time - I have a scan Monday too and hopefully EC/ET Weds/Fri although based on past history it may well go back a couple of days. Sarah - will you be able to last till a day later to test? Why not do Thurs evening then you don't have to worry about doing it before work? Nikola - now your embies are somewhere nice and comfy I'm sure they'll grow - there have been people with not such good ones put back and they have still got pg Huge amounts of PMA to everyone, Lots of love, Kat xx

Bet dh is getting excited already!! Mine will be jealous as no go at the mo!! Good luck Sarah xx p.s thur night sounds a good compromise with testing-does it make a difference if you test at night, I always thought it was first thing but then Ive never had to do a hpt unfortuantly so what do I know.
