Hi guys,

Suz- I am so sorry! I don't understand why we have to go through this and it sure as hell isn't fair but I believe all of us will be lucky one day and when we do have that little baby(ies) in our arms, we will know that that child is special. I don't know what else to say. I hope that you and DH are strong.

Better news for me today. I got the call yesterday that today was the day and decided to have one last look at my follies. Again the bugger on my right ovary was 12mm. Then my mate said she'd try extra hard to find my left ovary (no-one had seen it) and she just burst out laughing. It had wiggled itself right up high and had 2 biggies on it (23mm and 19mm!!).

So had the IUI this morning and it was extremely painful as my cervix wasn't co-operating but its over now and I am officially on the 2ww! I have taken today off as I haven't slept all week with worry and the 5am starts each morning for bloods didn't help! I hope this is the one...

Hi all,

Suzanne, so sorry to hear of the outcome of this cycle. Very suckful. Take time out to take care of yourself and re-group before the next go. It's bloody awful to get so close as to even had a HcG reading register and then nothing. IVF can be a cruel bugger at times.

Em, Congrats on those great follies. Why was it that the left ovary wasn't looked at prior to this pont?? Seems odd to me, was it just that it was hiding and therefore difficult to see?? Good luck for your 2ww..you take it easy too!

Tiger, glad that you will be back in old Melbourne town in the next little while. Is hubby comng with you or just you?

I'm going well, saw my obs yesterday as we are now on weekly appointments. Bub is growing well and is head down. He doesn't think that I will "go" earlier than my due date which is great, we kind of have to rely on the caesar date 'cause mum and dad are coming up from Sydney to look after Annie-Boo while I'm in hospital. What will be will be though, we'll cope!!

Gott go, time for my nanna nap!

Sorry it's been so long between posts- lots going on I can see...

Firstly, Suzanne- I'm so, so sorry to hear things didn't work out this time around. You must feel simply gutted. Right now you need some pampering and TLC- your time will come before you know it, I truly believe it. Stay strong and don't give up hope.

Em- great to hear you've got some bit fat ripe follies! I guess all that chanting worked! Sorry to hear the transfer was painful- hang in there for the 2WW. Amazing that they missed the follicles in earlier scans- as long as they're there- who cares when or how it all happened- let's hope you'll have some great news to share real soon!

Tiger- nice to hear from you. Must be a strange time to be in London right now with all this terrorist stuff going on. We live in such a different world these days. So many things are taken for granted until they are taken away. You must be excited to come home soon for some R&R and I'm sure your friends and family can't wait as well.

Bel- not long to go. Glad to hear things are progressing well and your plans are on track. You must be making the most of your one-on-one moments with Annie right now as things are definitely going to be different when Ellie arrives.

Bella- how have you been? I hope you've been keeping well and enjoying your growing belly.

Mel and Kery- welcome to the Aussie/Kiwi thread. Always nice to have new perspectives and to expand the team. Mel- good luck with your cycle- I hope this is the one for you.

Kery- On the Q re low sperm count, a friend of mine is in a similar situation -her hubbie has been taking Chinese herbs that have already started to get his sperm count up significantly and there is also the standard zinc, selinium etc. depending on the condition that is known to help. Not sure of the stats between IUI and ICSI- have heard both arguments- IUI is occuring in natural environment hence more likely to work vs, sperm already having penetrated the egg, hence once less hurdle... I'm sure your clinic/doctor can tell you the actual stats. Also depends on what you feel comfortable with.

Nothing much to report at this end. Have been keeping well, just needing some afternoon naps and getting mild nasea when big gaps between food. Still dying to tell our little girl about her future brother/sister but will probably wait until we are definitely in the clear.

Cheers
Annette

Hi guys,

My left ovary normally sits down behind my uterus but for some reason it has moved up high near my hip bone. I think that there wasn't enough room for it down there with the 2 great whopping follies on it and it just got pushed north. On all the scans I had, they always had a good look for it but its sitting so far out of the pelvis no-one thought to look up there!

My friend has suggested that now my tube will be all stretched out making it easier for the sperm to get there. I'm going to hold onto that little piece of PMA!

DH took me away to the Gold Coast for the weekend to destress and we had a lovely time and now I'm back ready to get through this 2ww.

Just a quick question - do any of you get ovulation pain? And if you do, have you found it is worse with stimming? I normally get a twinge that will last an hour or so, but on friday night I was in a lot of pain for about 2 hours before it settled. My tummy was also very bloated. Do you think this was a very mild form of OHSS? Can you get OHSS with Clomid?

Hugs Em

Hi All,

Thanks for your good wishes. DH and I have had a quiet few days and are feeling a bit more on top of the situation now.

Re your questions Em, I do get some pain when I ovulate usually, and can relate to the bloated feelings, but because they harvested my eggs straight out of my ovaries, I didnt actually ovulate, so can't comment on whether being hyperstimmed made the pain worse. Certainly though with 16 follies and a 40mm cyst I can relate to the feeling of fullness and bloating, and I was quite uncomfortable after my EPU.

Hope you are feeling better soon, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a BFP for you.

Hi all...

Em, my test date is 24th, wished it was going faster for me I'm having a terrible time with my anxiety. Well I think thats what it is.....feels like, You know when you watch a scary movie and you get a scare, well its like that mixed with butterflies. It's horrible and I don't know how to stop it.

Had my first blood test today, cheking the Estrogen and Progestern levels (sorry about the spelling here) Didn't really tell me much just that they're at the right levels to support a pregnancy. They said that last time and I was sure I was.......so here we go again on the rollercoaster.

I'm a bit worried though, as the sorness in my boobs seems to be getting less.....ever heard of that before? and am having abit of white thick discharge that I would sometimes get aweek after ovulation. I have no-idea whats going on with my body these days.

So your on the 25th.......I'll be sending my thoughts and prayers your way( For everyone out there) whats that saying they use here baby dust.....thats just so nice...So if thats right I'm sending it your way....

Bye for now, takcare to you all

Thanks for the baby dust - some coming across the nullabor to you to!

I get that white discharge too....not sure what it means. Perhaps your boobs where sore from the drugs or perhaps they are just settling down -pregnant women only get sore boobs right at the beginning then they get better -maybe its the same for you.

So we will struggle along on the 2ww together! Everything you are feeling is normal. I went away for the weekend and my DH ordered wine for us at dinner not even thinking and I had butterflies...what if I'm pregnant? (I had a glass).

Here's to us!

Hey Bel B,
I thought I'd answer over here, I visit often to see how everyone is going and to keep up with the Aussie and Kiwi success stories. As for me I'm doing Great my due date is 3 days after yours and in one way I can't wait mainly to be able to bend and roll properly again and to see if we have a Katie Grace or a Riley Trevan inside we'd like to have a girl 1st but either way, and on the other hand I could certainly wait to have this baby a while longer I'm not sure about this labour thing yet and the antenatal video's we've watched certainly hasn't helped. If anything it makes me think i'd be better having a ceasar. My doctor predicts an 8 pound bub and everyones predicting a boy. You may remember me telling you my sister is due 4 days before me according to her hospital date so it now seems to be a race as to who pops first and who will end up with a girl or boy we'd both like girls but as I said either way. My mums hoping we don't go in at the same time as i live One and a half hours away and naturally she wants to be there for both of us.
Hey it's great to see Heathers pregnant too, now we just need Tiger to jump back on the wagon and get the ball rolling for her. BTW how are you Tiger I see you've had a busy time moving, finding new work and now holidaying back in Aus how's hammy if you still have him?
Bella great to see your doing so well also and having a little girl not too much longer for you either now that your almost in the 3rd trimester.
To all the new guys since I've posted last welcome, hope your all well and I'm sure you'll find this thread a great support.

Take Care All
