Hello ladies I'm back!! and on 2 ww!!

I've had a bu**er of a week! Had a very stressed out week at work as is always the case when you come back your hols. Bloods started on Wednesday with expected IUI on Saturday or today. I had a wedding 100 miles from home to go to on Friday - an old but close school friend who had asked me to do a reading at the ceremomy. When I went for bloods on Friday morning they decided to do a follie scan just to determine whether they could safely give me a day off bloods or not on the Saturday (yesterday) as going in would have meant travelling the 100 miles back home for 9 am! My follie was 18mm so they decided to give me an HCG shot and do the iui 2 hrs later - so Em I am on exactly the same 2ww as you and Jo only 2 days ahead of you! Yeah we're all on 2ww together!! :D

I thought that was really nice of them to do that for me since I had the wedding. Em my iui really hurt too - apparently my cervix is in a strange position so she had a few attempts before getting the catheter/ speculum thingy in. Funny though, there was a young nurse support worker in the room as a witness and she said that watching the catheter attempting to go in was like seeing a guy get kicked in the balls!! ie mega sore . Dh thought it was funny that someone always comes out with something inappropriate in these cirumstances - I just thought it was funny! 8)

Nicki keeping everything crossed for you honey - these are good signs - do you feel different from other 2wws??

Gdph - I'm so sorry for your BFN. I have just had bfn from 1st diui but I am doing up to 10 cycles of diui with my clinic. All natural cycles with no clomid. Cos of the sperm shortage here in Britain my clinic managed to get a hold of sperm but the conditions were 10 vials per couple and only to be used for DI not DIVF and also to be used within one year.

You will find great support on here.

OMG how big is this msg??!! :)

I just got home from my IUI. All went well. It was alittle uncomfortable but not bad at all. RE said everything looked good. I had 2 follies, 21mm and 23mm. also, good news for DH, RE said that his counts had improved since last SA. His count went from 7m to 39m today. I was really concerned he would have a hard time today since he worked all night. He did an u/s and showed us where he deposited the sperm. It's just amazing what doctors can do these days!

So, we're all on 2ww together looks like (Em, Lisa, Nicki and me) I'm so excited! So, I guess my test date will be the 27th. My normal period would come about the 23rd - 24th. So, I may test myself at that time.

I go in on the 21st for a check on my projesterone level (did I spell that right?) What does this do? If it's low they give me a shot?

Nicki/Em - how are you holding up?

Day 21 test is to check that, the lutrel stage is ok, Ive never had this but if i get BFN will be ensuring my Lutrel satge is ok...This stage needs to be between 12-16 days long any less and the pregnancy cant procedd not enough time for the embie to implant in the lining.....

My follicles are smallish, the largest ever was 17mm!!! This time not even that big!! But still got Lh surge!!

Good luck Em, Jo and Lisa x x x

Good luck to all of us!

Nicki - It's weird, my breast is sort of itchy all over (mainly deep in the middle) I got the same itchy feeling the first time they upped my Clomid dose so it's definately a hormonal thing.

Can't believe there's only 11 more days to wait though! Its going pretty quickly!

Nicki - only 2 more days! You must be getting excited?

Morning Lisa, Em and Nicki! How is everyone doing with their 2ww? I quit cramping from the IUI last night but I have a bad headache today. I'm too afraid to take my migraine medicine and I don't have any tylenol on hand...so sipping my coffee. I'm so excited! BTW, my RE didn't give me any restrictions post IUI, but to have sex to increase our chances...What did your docs say?

Jovigal,

All the best on 2ww. I am praying for you all to have positive Beta. By the way, you have mentioned that your DH count has gone up from 7millions to 39 millions. it looks amazing.

My DH also has similar issue where his count is around 1.5 million only. He is 30 years old. Is there any medicine or diet which can improve his count. or Is your DH took any special medicine/Diet? Doctor is not recommending anything for him.

Thanks in advance.

Saxony.

Saxony, DH had a varicocelle (sp?) and had surgery 2 years ago. He also quit smoking 2 weeks ago. As far as meds, he only takes a multivitamin and Zinc every day. The surgery is really experimental and not all docs recommend it. Has your DH been to a urologist to get checked out?

Thanks Jovigal,

My DH didnt go to the Uroglogist to check for Variocele. Because our RE didn't ask for it. They did semen anlaysis and said he his having severe oligospermia [low motiliy, morphology, count], and therefore IVF-ICSI is be the only option. I will have FET in September. I am trying to be positive.

Saxony, I wish you and DH the best of luck!!!! Make sure he takes his vitamins and that he stays away from extreme heat. I think the heat must cook the boys.. :) Keep us updated.

Em how are the Itchy boobs?? Hope they are better than earlier. I agree this 2 ww is going not too bad at mo - fairly quick. I'm certainly not stressing half as much as with the last one!

Jo I'm glad your drinking coffee cos I got all paranoid about cofee last time as heard it can cause problems with implantation - anyone heard that??

Nicki only 2 more days - thinking of a HPT yet or sticking it out??

Yeah, caffeine is not good if you're trying to conceive or are pg. They tell you to limit it. If you like coffee, just buy the decaf type. I guess we all need to watch our caffeine intake right now... I read some where that moderate amounts doesn't have any effect. I guess it's better to play it safe though..

I actually just read in a research paper by a RE online that they are actually putting caffeine in the sperm wash (in IUI procedure) to improve motility of the sperm in the uterus. Can you believe that?

Hi Guys.

I saw on TV (on a show similar to Myth Busters but the medical version) that as far as coffee goes limited coffee intake has been proven to have no effect on a pregnacy. They were saying less than 4 cups a day is acceptable. I was freaking out about my one cup until I saw that...now I'm chilled about it.

They were also talking about alcohol and they said no more than 2 units (ie a glass of wine) twice a week has no effect on a pregnancy.

So during the 2ww, I am only having 1 cup of coffee in the morning and if I feel like a glass of wine, I wil have a small one mixed with soda water but I stick to the guidelines above.

If I get a BFP, I will re-evalute then and probably switch to decaf and non-alcoholic wine.

Itchy boobs still itchy. Not painful...just itchy. And I've been having lots of dreams that I'm having triplets!

Thats interseting about the caffine in the sperm wash! My DH has an excellent count - 40mill and 75% motility on last IUI.

We have been doing the baby dance non-stop. We started on day 8 and have been going at least once a day since.....trying to give ourselves every chance.......and having a little fun in the process! Sorry if tmi.

Good luck, Good luck, Good luck darling Nicki! Be the first of us IUI gals to reach the finish line!

Em, sounds like your doing great in your 2ww. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting obsessed with it  and I have to get my mind off of it. The only symptom I'm having at the moment is breast sensitivity but I do that somethimes before AF.

Nicki, wow, how are you doing? You go tomorrow for your test, correct? Have you caved yet and did a HPT? I'm not sure if I can wait... I went online last night and bought 7 tests. I normally would have AF on the 23rd so I may start testing then.

Lisa - How are you on your 2ww?

Gdph - where are you at now in your cycle, trying IUI again? Best wishes this time......
