First IVF in August,

I got through the first set of shots and I feel soooo much better now. I used ice and Lanacane to help numb the skin. We did Follistim first and that one stung me a bit after. Still a little sore today. I think because DH forgot to pinch the skin and we may have nicked a blood vessel. Not bad though. Probably because I was yelling at DH "don't let it hurt me!" and then I'd yell "wait, wait!". I was kind of being difficult. DH had to chase me around a bit to do the Menopur. I was being such a baby! Finally I decided to get it overwith. I lay on my stomach on the bed and had my Little Min Pin help me keep my mind off the needle by giving me snuggles. DH had the shot done before I even felt a thing! :D

Everything really is moving along quick for everyone. I love coming here to see where everyone is at in their cycle. I haven't even checked my email yet today and I'm here reading this board :D

Wannababy, I'm excited for you! It won't be long now!

I can't wait to hear about your eggs Shapooh! 9 eggs is awesome. Good luck with fertilization!

Wow, there are so many messages, I love how we all communicate! It helps so much to know we are not alone to go through this... :wink: I just don't know what the long message from aaa.... was supposed to mean :x

Alicia, I am glad they could retrieve all nine and that everything went so well.
Hope you get a lot of nice embies! :wink: I was truly with you in my mind. It is good to hear that you did not remember anything. It is so exciting now, isn't it? I cannot wait to get to that part. It looks like I will be the last of all of us here thanks to my neverending series of Lupron... :roll:
On Tuesday I will know when I start my stims, so even my ER date may change...

Mia - that is so great you have 13 follies. I was just thinking though, how come you already know before you even start the stimulation :?: I thought the eggies start developing during the stimulation... I had to laugh when I read how your hubby was chasing you. We are going through the same thing, believe me, especially in the morning, I just don't feel like doing a shot at 6am in the morning (I am doing Lupron 2x day now) and he has to leave for work...

Oh, the ICSI is when they inject the egg with the sperm, instead of just mixing the sperm with the egg. I think you (or somebody else) were not sure what it was...

Hey there, the ultrasound we did yesterday shows 6 follicles on one side and 7 on the other, that are ready to mature. We don't actually know how many eggs will develop yet. I think there's a possiblity that I'll grow more follicles during stims. I thought I read that happend to others.

Yeah... I really had no reason to be trying to escape. the shots we're very tolerable. I feel a lot better about doing them for the next few weeks. This morning I walked into the room where DH was and said to him "it's happy shot time!". He laughed.


Sam....... I can't stand the suspense :!: Hope everything is OK.

IT is official. I am pregnant. I am so excited. My numbers went from 46 to 226 so it is a sure thing!!! YEah. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

I will tell you, I never thought beyound this moment. I thought it would jinx me. Now I am like "oh my god, what do I do?" I have not read a thing as I did not want to emotionally go there. All of a sudden I am freaked out (In SUCH A GOOD WAY) that something is growing inside of me. I need to figure out what to eat and all of that kinda stuff.

I can't beleive this. This feeling is soooo great that I want/wish it to happen to all of you. I will be staying on so I know what happens to each of you as I think about you everyday and every step of your way.

How selfish of me not to comment on all the great news from you guys....

Hopeful and Alicia--great eggs, remember only one has to stick.
Wannababy-You are on your way, it goes by fast now.
Rest of the girls.....it is not long now. Keep up the good spirits

The progesterone shot is not that bad. I think everyone (including myself) builds it up due to the size. Do not get me wrong, it is not that great either but it is not any better or worse than the others. It more makes you sore afterwards. I saddle a chair to push up all fat, which tends to help.

Hello my name is Dawn. This is my first timein the chat room. I am in the proces of IVF as well. I started Lupron on August 7th. Sam - (((HUGS))) Congratulations!!!! I am soooo happy for you. God has blessed you with how many?

My RE called and said 1 egg wasn't mature enough and 1 other didn't fertilize. But he said all the other 7 fertilized and are looking strong. He will call me tomorrow to let me know if we are doing 3 or 5 day. Maybe because we are doing PGD and they have to wait til the cells are divided at least into 6 before they can test. Something like that, anyways I am still excited and trying to stay positive.

Sam--I knew it! Congratulations! I am so happy for you!!! Your DH must be equally estatic! I'm glad to hear that you will be staying over here to check in! We need your pregnancy vibes over here!

Shapooh- 7 is good! As soon as you find out if it's day 3 or 5 let us know! Thanks for updating the list. 8/18 will be my retrieval, not transfer. I wish the transfer was on the 18th. I just want to get this done, with positive results, of course!

Hopeful-Love DH's attitude! :D The 1st ones are the worst because you don't know what to expect!

Still waiting for the bigger boobs...................

Alicia --- great news! I hope those 7 embies will make it all the way and you have some to freeze as well. That would be just about perfect, right... :lol: :lol: How are those cramps? Still there? Looks like everything is going so well for all of us here, ha? I cannot believe your transfer is almost here... :shock:

Wannababy --- I was just thinking I must have missed your ER... so 8/18 that is, wow, we are really getting the ball rolling on our post... :shock:

Dawn - welcome to our post, you will get a lot of support here. I did not know you have to be on Lupron before doing a frozen transfer. When is your estimated transfer date? Keep us posted... :wink:

Mia - I think sometimes we dread these shots so much and that feeling is actually worse than the shot itself :lol: don't you think?

OK, back to work, I have to finish this paper that I am writing... :roll:
I still have another birthday party to go to tonight, I am a big party girl this weekend (no alcohol though) :wink:

Dawn-I think we are at the same place in our cycle

I just thought of something. If my ER is 8/18, then they probably won't test me until September 1. I won't be a member of the August class of 2006 :( Please don't make me go to the September board! :) I've become attached with you ladies!

Is it just me or are you craving things that we shouldn't have? I havent had coffee in about 4 months and was wanting some earlier. Also I would also love a glass of ice cold Bailey's. My mind is totally messing with me!

Wannababy --- No no no, no class of September, we will always be the August class of 2006! Even my ET will probably be in September. I will find out everything tomorrow - I have another U/S and BW. Hope my cyst is gone now and I can finally start! :roll: I had a couple parties to go to this weekend and had a craving for a glass of wine. I could probably have it, but I don't want to take chances....

Girls, just a question, all you all undergoing IVF in US? I live in CA.

I'm in the Las Vegas area. I'm from California and DH is from Colorado :) Small world....Interesting because these boards have people from all over the world. But here we are on this one 8)
