Hello! I've been trying for a long time but am new to the board. I'd really appreciate some advice.

Does anyone have just one ovary responding well to stims? During my one IUI cycle in Feb. (FSH has since been too high for more), there were 3 good follicles on the left ovary, but only one (poor) follicle on the right. I'm esp. worried because on a natural cycle, the left seems 'lazy'. Any activity is on the right - and that's just sharp little pains which can last for up to 10 days or more after a surge. Not at all like the little 'flip' I'd get at 'O' from either my right or left ovary in the old days. I'm wondering if the right ovary is just producing cysts. The clinic has been monitoring D1-2, with FSH usually 14 - 21, else counterweighted by Oestradiol (6.4 - 404). The clinic won't give me stims at those levels, and is encouraging me to think of donors. But I'd like to have a go with more stims, in case there's some hope with the left ovary. Is it worth trying to persuade the clinic? I'm about to turn 46, and have been told my chances are just about zero.

Thanx for any help you can give! Clunas
Hi Clunas,
I've had my right ovary being very unpredictable - sometime its been ok with the no of eggs whereas this ICSI I only had 1 egg. The left is much better and more consistent!
The other thing to think about is possibly a change of clinic - this is the 3rd clinic we've used (9th tmt) and have found each unit does things differently. This last unit being the most throrough on tests pre tmt.
Good luck with whatever you decided and stay in touch,
Di
