New to this side

Post by angelm »

Hi ladies,
My name is Angel and I am currently 5 weeks. I am 25 and my DH is 34. I don't really have a diagnosis for my infertility. My doctor just said that I have ovulatory dysfunction. He did not want to call it PCOS. Anyway, my DH's sperm also isn't the best in the world. With all that being said this was my first try at IVF and I got a BFP on 8/7/06. I am so excited, but at the same time very worried. I have an u/s scheduled for tomorrow. I hope they can see at least a sac. I know its too early for a heartbeat. I would love to talk to anyone who is in their first trimester and first pregnancy. I'm nervous because I still feel as if my AF is going to start sometimes. Every now and then I get slight cramps that last about 5 minutes. I'm not really craving anything, although my taste preferences have changed. I look forward to hearing from others.

Angelm,

Congrats on your BFP!!! This is my first pregnancy also. Don't worry about the AF symptoms. I had them too for several weeks. My nurse told me that AF symptoms are very common during early pregnancy. I had myself convinced that I had an ectopic pregnancy, due to the cramps and pains. I did not have any morning sickness and still do not. I am very tired and have sore breasts. Other than that, I feel great.

After you have your first scan you will feel much better. Once you see the little embie and the yolk sac, you will be relieved. Relax and enjoy your first peak at your little embie.

Take care,
Tammy

congratulations! and welcome!

I had AF cramps for about 6 weeks or more I think. I was sooo convinced AF was coming I didn't even test til I was a few days late. they felt exactly the same as AF coming.
I was like you too in the way that I didn't exactly crave anything but my tastes changed. I ate things I would never normally eat.

the first scan is always nerve racking, I didn't sleep for days before mine. once you hit the second trimester, you will relax a bit but the worry continues even then...........and I guess for the rest of our lives!

let us know how the scan goes

Congrats, Angel! You should join the "1st trimester friends" thread. That's where you will be able to connect with lots of people that are newly pregnant and in their 1st T...and you can continue to share experiences with them all the way until you deliver. That's what I've found to be the most valuable on this site for me. I made lots of friends that way!

Hi Angel,

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and have no symptoms either...except being very tired. Great that you get to see the sac so soon. I have to wait 2 more weeks and am a little cautious until then. Good luck and can't wait to hear how it goes.

Thanks for all your responses. I feel better about everything today. I went to have my u/s and I saw a sac. My beta is 1,172 and everything is going great. I am a little sad though because I had two embies transferred and only one took. I was looking forward to having twins, but I am greatful to at least have one. I will definitely join the first trimester thread. Thanks for all the well wishes.
