Post by luvbabies »

Well...the news I was hoping for didn't happen --NEGATIVE

I feel like such a failure...empty ...frustrated ...kicked in the gutt

I've gone thru chlomid then artificial insemination then 1st IVF all failed then when I was about to start 2nd round husband on his 40th BDAY diagnosed with testicular cancer ...literally 48hrs away from retrieval...stopped EVERYTHING didn't know with hubby and my emotions if I could even carry with the stress - 1yr later hubby perfectly fine sperm banked his goodies were told his sperm is great to see him now he looks as he did when we first met you'd never think the yr we went thru .
NOW we try again"official" full 2nd round round IVF and here I am at another failure...WUT THE HELL!!!

I'm sorry to hear your news. Please hang in there. My husband was diagonsed with thyroid cancer in the middle of our 2+ years ttc. Unfortunately he had to go through radiation which zapped his perfectly normal sperm count. He is doing fine now but his counts never recovered. We are hoping that ICSI works and are currently in our first IVF cycle.

It an up hill battle, I know! Try to stay positive both for you and your husband's wellbeing.

My husband and I are both 34 and have been trying to concieve for over 2.5 years. My husband was diagnosed over 1.5 years ago and under went radiation treatement in March of 2005. His count was 55 million before and now ranges between 5-20 million. So it's definately male factor that we are dealing with.

All of my testing has checked out fine. Our doctor suggested a sperm dna test to make sure the radiation did not affect his dna...than god it was fine. Our chances for success would have been much lower if he had tested positive for dna fragmentation. He just has a low count, which is why our doc performed ICSI.

Good luck with your frozen cycle! I've read that some women have better results with FET, since they do not have to go through all of the stims which can effect the lining and uterine enviroment.

Please keep me posted!

Thanks for info. I too amd 34 and hubby is now 41. We had to sperm bank because of the many rounds of chemo he went thru. Specialists told us we couldn't try for kids (naturally) for upto 1yr-2yrs (sperm would rejuvinate) and they still couldn't gaurentee if he would/wouln't be sterile(shoot all blanks). So with banking were good.
I didnot know about FET status thanks!!! A little good news goes a long way as you may already know :D !
What is ICSI sounds like the TV crime show hahaha.
Pass on more info if you don't mind
THANKS again

ICSI is when they inject a single sperm into a mature egg. I had 17 mature eggs at ER and all ICSI'd. 11 Fertilized and they transfered 2 back on day 5.

Wishing you luck!
