spotting...advice????

hi girls, technically week 6 now, have just started spotting with brownish/red blood no clots, nothing up til now. anyone let me know whether this a negative sign or what???? plse help, luv fi

Don't think the worst, Fi - this seems to be a regular occurance that a lot of people get (including me) on this site, but it's worth phoning the hospital anyway to let them know. It could just be implantation bleeding, but always better to get it checked out. Rest easy meantime. Zoe x

As advise from Zoe - phone your unit and rest as much as poss - sure everything will be ok! Lots of women have a slight bleed at early stages and its nothing to worry about! Let us know how you get on and take care, Di

Fi I've sent you an e-mail but just to reiterate what the girls have already said. Get in touch with the hospital and don't panic - it's a very common thing at this stage of pregnancy and doesn't mean bad news. Let us know how you are. LOL Helen xx

Fi I am also one of those who's spotting. I started with red and now it is a brown. Apparently when its brown it could be 'old' blood that your body is just getting rid of. Doc says its nothing to worry about but just to keep an eye on it. We had our 8 wk scan yesterday and we are having another in 2 wk. She said that sometimes on the scan you can see where the bleeding comes from but there was nothing there. Also, you can bleed around the time your period would be due. Hope this helps. Bertie xx

Fi - How's it going? I've been off the site for a couple of days, because I've been spotting too and have been in bed since Sunday. I've been told all the same things - that it sometimes happens, most likely nothing wrong, but to stay down and drink LOTS of water. I was gauging that if my RE hadn't messed with my cycle, the spotting started just a couple of days after when I would have naturally had my period. I'm assuming that since we had the same transfer date, that the same is true for you. I just figure that it's my body trying to have a period, not quite yet figuring out what's going on. I've spoken to almost a dozen other women who had the same experience and they were all OK. Still nerve wracking though!!!!! I hope you are doing better. I'm still spotting a little brown, but have decided to go back to work to see how it goes. Big hug to you and keep us updated.

thanks guys soooooooooo much feel like we have been through hell the last 24hrs. no real bleeding, its minimal spotting and same as you catherine my period would be due now. however, have had persistent painful side pain like a stitch and also am analzying that my boobs are less sore.... anyhow been to docs and going for EPAU tomorrow at 11.30 to see if they can see anything. you dont realise how happy you were to be preggers until you get thrown down again like this. thanks bertie your words helped, and i dont feel so much in limbo and alone. worked today since didnt want any sick might need for FETs in future (yep pessimistic fi back!!) hugs to all and thanks again, catherine i am hoping we stay symptoms like this together, hope you doing OK!!!!!!!!!! lots of love fi XXXX
