I just love "talking" with you all!!! I look forward to it everyday. I'm joining a "moms of multiples" club and going to the first meeting tonight. I met one woman so far that is due for twins around the same time as me. She got pg naturally (as did many of them from what I can tell). You know, their worries are so different than ours! They talk different than we do. We have such a unique journey that we share that it makes us pretty different than those that got pg naturally. I never realized that before until now. So I'm thankful I have you all!

Group hug over the internet....... :)

Julie, that must be why I get those leg cramps all the time during the night!! I didn't realize that. I must be flipping from my left side to my back and that's when the leg cramps occur.

Mel, I'm one of the fortunte people that gets to quite working after the babies are born. I have a good career and will seem weird to not work, but financially I think we can handle it....at least for two years or so. With twins I also think it would be hard to manage both babies & my job too.

Julie, there's probably a handful of us that will move to the 3rd T in the next week or so, so you can join us in that move. I can't belive all your contractions! Restricted duty sounds like the right thing! I bet that is a bit difficult though!

Hi to everyone else....this is already long enough so I won't ramble longer.

Hi girls,

Just poking my head in to say hi! Congrats on the ladies who have discovered boy/girl, congrats on positive test results...Been busy at work getting ready for a new software release! I am waiting til I am 24 weeks and then I will be ordering my crib....We won't be putting the wall up for the nursery until around sept/oct then I will be able to paint and decorate!Had a trip to the hosptial the other night, apparently have a bit of a stomach bug that left me with some abdom. cramps so with my history I went to get checked out - and none of the dr's questioned it even though I felt silly but relieved that baby and mommy are fine! Logan's toy was the montor they strapped to my belly - he kept kicking it dead on!! It was funny!

Hi ladies - just popping in to say hi to all of you!

Kristi - sending you a hug right back! I agree with you that it seems all of us here have different feelings, etc than most women that get pg naturally. I am so thankful each day that I found all of you! :)

Mel - glad to hear what your m/w said about sleeping on our backs. I was always a stomach sleeper (obviously out of the question now), and now I try to sleep on my side and always wake up on my back. Only the books seem to warn against it. My doctor has never mentioned it, although I haven't asked either. I am just happy when I can get a few hours of comfortable sleep without waking up to shift positions or to pee! Also - I get the leg cramps too, like Kristi does. Those are awful!

I think it is wonderful that some of you are able to stay home with your babies!! I am very jealous. I wish I could do the same. I am going to cut my hours back a little, and the company I work for is setting it up so I can do at least one day a week from my house. My dh is a roofer and is off work most winters, so he will be doing a lot of stay-at-home dad duty! Also - my job will also allow me to bring the little one in to work from time to time so I am lucky in that way too. We are going to try to do all we can to not get a babysitter or childcare for at least the first 2 years - even if that means reducing our income.

At one point some of you were talking about fears - I have a terrible fear of the cord wrapping around my baby's neck during delivery. This has happened to several people I know and sometimes the outcome has been scary. My baby just kicked me HARD right as I typed that. I guess she is trying to tell me everything will be just fine - lol!

Jessica - hope you are past that stomach bug. And I wouldn't feel silly for the hospital visit if I were you - it's always better to be safe than sorry!

Hope all the rest of you are doing well - I assume a lot of you will be venturing to the 3rd tri. thread before too long. Time just seems to be flying for me all of the sudden! We are going crib/nursery shopping this weekend - we are going to hold off on getting "girly" colors just because the doctor said there is still a 10% chance it could be a boy. I don't want to get crazy with pink just yet!

My next scan is 9/11 and hopefully we will get a more clear view of the baby then.

Chat with you all later!

Lisa,

Thanks it seems to be passing! and like I told the hospital I am not a doctor - I would rather a doctor tell me its a stomach thing than go into labor and wish I had gone

Hi all, Lots been going on over the last day or two,

Kristi - (GROUP HUG RIGHT BACK TO YOU) Image iT IS SUCH A FAB GROUP HERE!!! I thought the picture of your boobs resting on your belly was quite funny  mine has not quite made it there yet.

Justine - not long until your next scan, mine is the day before, i cant wait, i hope they are going to tell me how much 'bubble' weighs and hopefully what it is. Why do they say to sleep on the left side? no-one has ever mentioned any of this to me.

tracii - great news that your diabetes check was fine, mines on monday, hopefully it will be good news. Its a wonder that babys dont get dizzy when they have their head down for long periods!!!! My babys routine seems to be similar to yours, although sometimes it wakes a bit earlier in the evening around 4. The last time i went to see MW my blood pressure was creeping up slightly, nothing major and there was a bit of protein again. I am at the A/C on Wed after my scan so i will let you know if it has returned to normal again.

Mel - what a pain about the work situation, i totally understand were you are coming from., after what it has taken to get here, the least we want to do is spend time with our children. When we got a new foster kid i was so relieved as it now means that we will be the same financially and i can afford to take the 6 months, if that hadnt of happened i dont know how we would of managed. Hoping something good comes through for you.
What day is your diabetes check?

Julie - Good to here that the contractions are slowing down, that must be a bit of a relief. I used to get leg cramps when i slept on my back so what your chiroprator told you could well be true, i just wish the professionals would agree on whats best, it does get a little confusing.

Jamato- Im glad all was fine when you got checked out, better safe than sorry Ordering and buying all the baby stuff is so exciting, just hard wondering whether you have got everything you need!!!!

Lisa - it is good that you are able to adjust your time with the company and spend a day at home with your babe. I would love to take 'bubble' into work, the kids in senior school would love it, but i dont think the head would. Enjoy the nursery shopping, we just cant stop now we have started, waiting in tomorrow for an order off kiddicare, very impressed with their service so far.

Sorry i cant mention everyone, must dash as big brother has started

love

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. We've been so busy planning the wedding and getting the construction on the house under way. I'm glad to see everyone is still doing good. We had another scan today. everything is still good. They still think it's 2 boys and 1 girl. but they're still not 100% sure yet.
As of June 6th, I'm 8 weeks, first scan yesterday. Triplets. Scarred out of mind!!

I have just caught up on so much stuff, and had planned all the things I was going to say to each of you, but as I read on, I forgot...

So, all I can remember is, I can't sleep on my left side b/c DH is on the left of the bed & his breath stinks (!!) and my sensitive nose can't handle it in my face!

And Mel - I feel for you not to be able to take time off. It's a bummer when things are thrown at you at the wrong time. But think of it this way, work will be so much better knowing you have your little girl to come home to afterwards. Apart from that, buy lots of Lotto tickets and keep hoping!

I couldn't get in for my diabetes test for a couple of weeks cos they were fully booked, but am still in high risk category. So, I hope it all comes back OK.

Bella.

I did a quick search and found this explanation as to why laying on your back is bad...and laying on your left side is best. This is the same reason I've read before in some of my books.

http://www.gynob.com/leftside.htm

Dottie, good to hear from you. Glad all is still going well with your 3 babies!

Up until yesterday when the babies move or kick I see my stomach "pop" for a quick second. Well, yesterday for the first time I saw one baby actually move for about 10 long seconds straight...my stomach moved here & there and up and down, etc. It was crazy!!! I've been waiting for that to happen. Add that to my journal of "firsts"!!!

thanks for that link Kristi, I just had a read. I used to sleep on my stomach before being pregnant and obviously thats impossible now! I think the thought of hemorrhoids would be enough to put us all off lying on our backs!

It is amazing when you see your stomach move isn't it. I have seen it once or twice but I guess I will see it more when I am further on.

Has anyone had any problems with needing to pee more some days in the 2nd trimester. Since I hit about 14 weeks, I have some days where I need to pee every 10 minutes. I feel panicky if I'm not near a loo as when I need to go, I need to go now! the midwife said at these times it is probably positional and the baby is bouncing on my bladder. I just thought this only happened in the 3rd trimester so I'm feeling a bit abnormal. anyone else had this? Today I went before I left the house, then five minutes later had to pull into a petrol station to go, then had to go 15 minutes later when I arrived at the hospital! I dont' have a UTI as they tested today.

I have a mad craving for chocolate, I have to have it every day! It worrying me a bit as I have to have the gestational diabetes test too because of family history and pcos. I tried to cut down but then go in a shop and can't stop myself.

Hi all,

Just wondering if any of you girls have started getting your hospital bags ready? I have, just thought as the time came to it i would be in a complete panick and forget something desperately needed and DH would be running around like a headless chicken!!!! it so weird though thinking that it is approx 12 weeks away  A number of people have said IVF babies tend to come early, is this true?

Hope you are all having a nice day

love

Sue, I'm feeling in a major "preparation" mode myself. I went to this mom's of multiples club the other night. 30% of them had their twins in weeks 31-32. The other 70% had them in weeks 35-37. So I could have mine as early as 3 weeks from now....or most likely within 9 weeks. That was a big reality check!

I put my emergency contact list together (directions to the hospital, my doctor's phone #, family phone #'s, etc). I have my hospital gown, but haven't packed the bag yet. I've also stocked up on diapers & wipes.

Yesterday we picked up the nursery room furniture and put the cribs together. I'm going to have the nursery decorated, sheets washed, clothes washed, etc by the end of August.

Can you believe this is all for real?

Terri, I pee all the time too, but it sounds like you have it a bit worse than normal, especially if you were tested for a UTI. Sounds like your baby is snuggling in down low and likes to push on your bladder!

Kristi - thats amazing that you could have your babies in the next 9 weeks Image how exciting!!!!!

I still can't believe it is all for real, i feel so lucky and yet so scared at the same time. Our crib is already up in our room but is getting more and more baby stuff dumped into it, there will be no room left for bubble.

When you buy the crib bumper and quilt thingy, can it be used from birth? It is not very thick but i aint got a clue if you can use it.

Also anyone having problems with sore (.)(.), is there anything to help? sometimes it feels as though someone is poking the nipples with a hot needle!!! (maybe its DH when i am asleep  )

Terri - have you tried rocking forward and backward whilst having a pee? i read somewhere that sometimes because of the positioning of the bladder we dont fully go when the need has it, but the rocking helps to empty it completely, maybe worth a try. Me i am not too bad i just go about 5 times during the night, not as bad during the day.

Still busy doing the back room, but it is coming along, i cant wait and then 'bubbles' furniture can go up in the other room. Bought a couple of maternity nighties from asda, 2 for £8 i was well impressed, put them straight in my hospital bag. I have got my diabetes test tomorrow, really hoping it comes back with good news.

lots of love

Wow! You guys are really making alot of progress with preparation. I feel so ill-prepared . I guess I should start thinking about the hospital bag..scary thing is...I don't even know where our clinic is! (private clinic)...I am jut hoping she is not early. Tomorrow I am going to order the stroller (supposedly takes 2 months for delivery!) and the car seat. Still struggling with the crib thing. While we are in Munich I have a moses basket..but after about 1 month we will be going back to Vienna and I need a crib there. We decided not to spend much on the crib itself but I love very expensive linens..so I found a beautiful french baby linen store..but there is no nursery..just a room which we use an office as well so I don't want a huge crib.

Kristi - your little guys could be arriving any minute! How exciting!! And really puts things in perspective.

Sue - Best of luck today with the diabetes test. I am sure everything will be fine. It is just a long morning when you can't eat.

Terri - I can feel when Isabella is sitting on my bladder and putting pressure on...then I need to go like every 5 minutes. I only go one time at night though. Did you say chocolate??? I never ate chocolate before getting pregnant....well now I can't stay away from it!

When is everyone moving to the 3.tri side? Next week I am officially in the 3. trimester

Crazy question...does anyone think about the baby and if they are bored in there? I always think what is Isabella doing (besides growing!) and can't she be bored? (I know weird thoughts)
