Hi all & welcome back Alette, congratulations on your positive, you will be able to advise the other pg ladies here as yuo have done it all before!

Ogr (Becky) is still on the boards and I think the others are still reading from time to time, I expect they'll say hello when they next pop in

Anna - so, so pleased to see things are progressing well - are you being scanned at QMH or at your GP?

Time to do some work now, unfortunately my desk is placed right by the door so I can't stay on here long!!

Lots of love

Anna, great news about the scan. Absolutely thrilled for you. How are you feeling? Any nausea/tiredness etc. Not that I am wishing such symptoms on you, LOL.

Alette, Hi, although we have not "met" previously I have seen mention of you before, and am very happy for you that your FET was successful - congratulations. Randa and Debra have been taking a break for a while after disappointing treatments, Ogr is still very much hear on some of the other threads and occasionally pops in. Big J (Jules), did you know her? She is waiting for her baby son to arrive, due date 15th August. As for me, I have just had a DE tmt cycle in Kiev, and pleased to say that we were successful. I am now 12 weeks pg with a singleton. We feel enormously lucky to be where we are now. Good luck with this pregnancy, how far along are you?

Kat, good to hear from you.

Pauline, good luck to you with your appt. Hope you get to try the clomid - you never know!!

Alette

Many congratulations on your successful FET result you must be over the moon. I wish you a very healthy and trouble free pregnancy.

We would also like a chance to have a second baby. We did not have any frozen embryos and we have run out of money and emotional strength for another round of IVF, therefore we are relying on nature to take it course. We do not hold out much hope and are very thankful for our DD –
its good to know that even at our advanced age its still fun trying!

Please keep us updated on your pregnancy progress.

hello ladies, hope everyone Ok today.

Thank you for all your messages. DP and I haven't told anyone about our news. This site helps to keep me sane!

Glad to see such good news around....

Alette, many congratulations on your BFP. Enjoy!

Alison (sunseeker) you asked me about success rates at IM. I haven't seen official statistics but at both transfers the drs gave us a 60% chance of becoming pregnant. My GP thought that this was a bit on the high side. General statistics overall give donor tmt about a 50/50 chance of success. This is far higher than IVF using own eggs. I still believe that it is all down to chance. The drs really don't know how implantation occurs and what factors effect it. We just have to give it our best shot. Wishing you loads of luck with the cycle.

Pauline, good luck at QMH. The new building is great. I never met Miss Bevan but have heard that she is lovely. Did you get given a little vibrating pager to hold so you can wait in the coffee shop for your appointment? What fun!!! Good luck with your apptmt, hopefully you will be able to start on Clomid very soon. Keep us updated.

Kat, hi , how are you? At the moment I am being scanned at Kingston hospital, after being referred there by my GP. I think I have now said good bye to QMH. I was disappointed that they wouldn't do my blood tests for beta levels. I'm glad my GP was understanding and organised them for me. Next scan on Thursday 18th. (fingers crossed.) Hope you are Ok.

Bev, hi. Thanks again for your pm. What a star you are. I read your post about being worried. Now, just you stop this!! PMA PMA PMA PMA PMA to you. Practice what you preach young lady!!!! You will be absolutely fine and soon have your baby in your arms. Hugs to you xx

Tammy, when is your apptmt for the screening tests? Is it next week? Good luck.

Yasmina, you sound full of PMA. You go girl! Hope the move goes smoothly and you find a kind understaning new OB soon. Thank you for your reassurring message regarding the meds. Hugs to you x

Jane, hope you are OK. Sending you PMA x

Alison (n) Glad you had a good time in Barcelona! In our cycle we used fresh embryos although they were fertilised with sperm that had previously been frozen. Does that make sense? September will soon be upon us. Not long to go. Hope you have a good holiday, where are you going? I have found IM really positive and professional. They answer emails very quickly and I feel secure in what I am doing with meds and scans etc. They are clear about what they need you to do and when. I know what you mean about the clinic being so far away but with the support of my GP I feel very well cared for!! Lots of luck to you x

Hi to all on this thread, have a great weekend

Anna: I'm so happy for you! Wait until you see the little heartbeat. It is so emotional! This is the most 40+ women who have been pregnant at the same time!!!

Alette:Congrats on your BFP!!

Bev: I'm glad to hear that you are still doing well. Way to go with the 1st trimester screening. My friend, Tracy, had a 1 in 700 chance of having a baby with downs, which is good for a 42 year old egg. At our age, I believe it is 1 in 70 or so.

Yasmina: You have a good point about the natural selection. I will let you know how my scan goes this week. I guess they tell you right away about the scan and you have to wait to get the blood test results. I'm with you, I could not abort my little beannie. I'm just praying for good results. I am already bonded to him/her.

Kat: Good to hear from you.

CarolineP: Don't give up! DH and I were ready to give up, but got pregnant naturally!

My scan on Wednesday was great!! With every scan, the due date gets moved up. The measurement was showing 10 w 2 days - 10 w 4 days. I will see what the next scan shows and then update my ticker accordingly. I think that my prediction will end up being right after all. We got to see the little beanie moving his/her hands and feet. I was showing the video to my family and my 10 year old niece said, "He looks like Casper." We had to laugh and agree that he did look like Casper the friendly ghost.

Take care all,
Tammy

Hi all

Would like to send all a big congrats with bfp's I am truly happy for you.

Have not been around much recently as have been keeping off the site as I have been a little down in the dumps. I have had news which is fantastic and I am pleased (my brother & his wife have just announced their news of a little bundle) but it also feels olike salt has been rubbed in.

Getting through it slowly though!!

Anna - thanks for the info on success rates - our Dr had quoted something like 70% and it just seemed too high somehow...
I was ready to make another appointment and jump back on the rollercoaster but we have had a horrendus week this week. Unfortunately our 6 month old little puppy "Guinness" was run over and killed whilst out with a friend on Monday, she was our family and the cutest thing ever and we are both finding it so hard to deal with at the moment so I am not sure when we will feel strong enough to start again with any treatment, one day at a time.
Gail - sorry to hear you have been down in the dumps recently, life can be so tough sometimes can't it, especially when those that are our nearest and dearest tell us their fab news of a new arrival, of course we are really happy for them but it's so difficult to take as well. Close friends of ours told us they were going to start trying for a family recently and hey presto six weeks later she was pregnant! It really upset me at the time and I was coming out with all sorts of comments like "it's not fair", "why not us" etc etc. so I know exactly what you mean about rubbing salt in, don't worry we all feel the same sometimes. Sending you lots of PMA to help you get through this difficult time, it does get easier as time goes on. :P

Hi everyone, Just stopped in to catch up and get some moral support. They took our tiny foster baby away because they felt we were too emotionally involved and because we had established a relationship with the bio mom (because we thought it was best for all involved) they feel we were trying to manipulate the mom into signing over the baby. We didn't even know you could do that. So we had her for 6 weeks. From 4 lbs. to 7.5 pounds. I feel so lost without her. I thought failed IVF's and miscarriages were as bad as it gets. But we got to hold her and smell her and love her and now she's gone. I don't know how i'm going to get through this. Sorry to rain on the pregnancy parade I just really need a little help now from those who understand.

Hi Ladies

Lisa, so sorry to see the news. Can't imagine how you must be feeling. Sending big hugs your way x

Gail , sending you some PMA. We all have down days and hearing of others announcing their good news is sometimes too much to bear. Hang in there. This will happen for you.

Great news about Big J . Thanks for letting us know Bev. Hope you are Ok. Hugs to you my donor buddy!

Ali, so sorry to see your news. Take time for yourselves. You will know when you are ready to get back on the roller coaster. Any other questions, let me know.

My news today is that we saw the heartbeat of our little beanie. An amazing sight. Me and DP shed a few tears! Can't quite believe what we saw as I still have no symptoms at all. I am now 6 weeks 4 days pg!

Hello and hugs to all lovely ladies here
Bye for now

Lisa, How can they do this to you both? My heart goes out to you, I cannot imagine how you must be feeling at the moment. I guess you have tried to explain to them that you were acting in what you thought was everyone's best interests. I thought they wanted you to let the natural mother have access to Mia. Life can be awful cruel at times. I am thinking of you both, and hoping that you manage to get through these desperate times. Big hugs coming your way from the UK.x

Anna, that is fantastic news about the heartbeat and still no yucky symptoms, you lucky thing. So very happy for you both. Hope the sickness doesn't set in just as you are about to go back to work after the summer break. Take care of yourself and beanie. Hugs to you to DB (Donor Buddy)!

Ali (sunseeker), sorry to hear about your puppy - it is always hard when you lose a much loved pet in any circumstance, but I should imagine that your emotions are even more heightened when you are on the IVF rollercoaster. As you say, take one day at a time and hopefully you will be getting strong enough to come through the other side. My thoughts are with you and DH.

Alisonn, I agree, it does seem like yesterday that we were in Kiev but I have to say that the pregnancy weeks seem to be dragging. I guess I just want it all to hurry up, and this little baby (over 5 cm long now) is here, happy and healthy. I am now 12 weeks and 6 days today so not that long to go really, only another 27 weeks and 1 day left, LOL!

Hi Gail, sorry that you have been down in the dumps, and although you are delighted at your brother's news, I can totally understand how you feel. Things will get easier, and hopefully you will be in a position to explore your donor egg treatment soon. I am sure that once you start looking into that, you will feel a bit more positive. Take care, x

Tammy, how are things your end? Hope you are still feeling well and all is progressing as it should.

Gail: I hope you are feeling more upbeat now.

Anna: Congrats!! I also posted to the 1st trimester thread.

Lisa: I can't tell you how awful I feel for you and DH. I cannot believe that they would take away your foster baby just because you cared about it. Isn't that what is supposed to happen? I am so sorry for you.

Bev: How are you? We had our Nuchal scan and blood test yesterday. Everything looked good on the scan, but we have to wait for the blood test results next week to see what our actual risks are of having a baby with genetic abnormalities. We also got to hear the baby's heartbeat!!!!!! It was so neat. I am off of the progesterone shots!!! I have one more appt. with my RE and then it is off to my OB/GYN. I will be 12 weeks next week!

Yasmina: How are you? Did you get moved from Texas? The 1st Trimester Screening is no big deal. I would recommend it. We learned a lot. I also had a test done to see if I'm a carrier of cystic fibrosis.

DH is calling.

Take care all,
Tammy

Hi Tammy, wow, you are nearly through your first trimester, many congrats to you and DH. I am sure that the bloods will not reveal anything too different from the scan - just remember that when they number crunch your age into the mix it will automatically come back higher risk than a younger woman, but the result of the scan looks good so I would take heart from that.

I still have not heard our little bean's heartbeat, they don't seem to worry about hearing it in the first trimester in the UK, I will probably have to wait until my next appt. at 16 weeks. I am hoping that I might feel the odd flutter in my tummy around that time also.

It's a bit quiet on this thread at the moment, I do hope everyone is doing okay.

More later,
Bev xxx
