Wannababy, Good luck with ER. I hope you get lots of healthy eggies :D Unfortunatly I have to start ganirelix tonight :( I guess that means I'll be taking it until Monday night. Oh well, if it helps me get pregnant, then it's OK :?

Alicia, It's really hot here too, over 100 everyday. Probably not as hot as AZ though. It's crazy how you can adapt to the heat. Well... I just try to stay indoors with A/C as much as possible  It would be really cool to meet you in person if we did a road trip. If I do get pregnant, we'd probably do it with the baby when he or she is old enough (when it's not too hot). Wouldn't it be cool if we met with our babies :) So I guess we better get a couple of BFPs  BFPs for everyone!!!

Haylie, welcome :!:

Hi Ghost! :)

Well ladies, this afternoon is the day. I'm scheduled for 1:30 today. I was told nothing to eat or drink after midnight or on the day of the retrieval. That would be fine if I was scheduled for 9 am. Because mine is in the afternoon and won't be leaving the facility until around 4:00, that means I won't be eating or drinking for a total of about 15 hours. I'm hungry for breakfast now and will be ready to eat a horse for dinner! This things we endure to become mothers!

I was talking to my nurse yesterday and asked her about bedrest after the transfer. They only require 20 minutes afterwards, then want you to resume normal activity. I am putting myself on bedrest. I know some of you had done or will do 3 or 5 days. I haven't yet decided how long I am going to do! What is suggested for each of you?

I'll check in when it's all done! Take care!

Wannababy, GOOD LUCK :!:
After ET I will rest in recovery for an hour and then my Re recomends 2-3 days of 'complete pelvic rest'. I'm going to do 3, DH wants me to do 4. Maybe I'll do 3.5 days and get gently active the few days after. :)

Hey Ghost, :?: what do you know about antrals? I had an ultrasound yesterday and it looks like I have 11 antrals.

I did five and thought it was way too long. Of course I got my BFP so I know I would not do it any differently. I think three days of total bed rest is good and the next two do only very light stuff i.e. sitting at a computer, cooking a light meal, etc.

Good luck

Wannababy - Best of luck to you on your ER - may you have lots of strong, healthy ones! I've heard most people saying they did about 3 days of bed rest post-ET, so do your best! Sending lots of good luck and wishes to you!

My first beta is tomorrow and second on Monday (they don't tell you results until second one). I don't hold out too much hope, though....took HPT today (I know, I know, I shouldn't have but couldn't help it). Anyway, negative on a very sensitive test, so.....I'm still being 'good' and trying to think positively while not really getting my hopes up.

I've been taking the stims for 6 days now. Lately I've noticed that I get tired pretty quickly and also I felt slight cramping yesterday. Is anybody else feeling the same? Also after taking the stims I feel I am smelling like medicine :)

My Wednesday's UltraSound was ok. They found 6-7 follicles. Dr. says in cases of High FSH like mine this is a decent number. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Mia- As of now I am suppose to take stims till 22nd. Might change based on my next Ultra Sound. How about u?

In the beginning when I was about to start my IVF cycle I was feeling it will be very long and I won't be able to pass that time. But after talking to all of you and discussing it over the forum, it has been pretty smooth.

Thanks for the support gals..

Wannababy - LOTS OF STICKY BABY DUST!!! You will do great, can't wait to hear from you. My RE said 3 days bedrest, I can get up to use the restroom and eat. He said to sit up for 30 minutes after I eat for digestion. (they don't want heartburn or gas) He said I could lay on my back or sides and the 4th day resume normal activities, but no heavy lifting or exerting. Good luck sweetie!!! :D

Sam - Thanks for the info about the progesterone. I feel so much better about it now. I was also wondering did you have any mild cramping during your 2ww? It comes and goes, but its really mild. Not even sure to call it cramping. What about spotting? I haven't had any? So how long till you find out if its twins or not?

Mia - Yeah hot is right. Its been about 107, but I had my ET done in Long Beach, CA and the weather was awesome. Do you know for sure yet about your ER date?

Champa - Don't feel bad, I too thought I smelled like medicine. I never mentioned it cause I thought it was in my head. Congrats on 6-7 follies!!! I only had 9 and there was another girl from my office who had 23. Boy did I feel like a loser. But when it came down to transfer she only had 2 and I ended up with 4. So remember its quality not quantity!

Lola - Its so great to be able to post again. It sucks without a laptop, I almost felt like I was having withhdrawal symptoms. There was a computer down in the lobby of the hotel we were staying at, and I almost had my DH just type a few words to let you all know I was okay. But I figured it out on my cell phone. It was really strange, but it worked. Anyways, I am really glad that it worked out with your cyst and your okay now.

Suzhan - Good luck tomorrow! And stay away from the evil HPT!!!!

Love you all,
Alicia

Hello ladies!

This is the newest update and again, let me know if there are any changes

Sam (Denver, Colorado) Aug 13 BFP!!
Alicia (Yuma, Arizona) Aug 17 ET - bed rest now, 1st Beta 8/29
Champa Aug 12 Stims (ER around the 22nd)
Wannababy ( New Jersey) Aug 18 ER
Lola (California) Aug 18 Stims
Mia (Las Vegas, NE) Aug 12 Stims
Suzhan (California) Aug 11 ET - after bed rest now, 1st Beta 8/19, 2nd Beta 8/21

I am finally starting my stims today. Since I was on such high doses of Lupron for so long, I am still (!!) having AF for the tenth day today  . I hope it will stop with the stims. I normally have regular 25 day cycles, so this is very strange to me. I wonder if anyone else had it, but I guess nobody had to do the "Lupron strech", so my situation is little different.

Champa, I think you are having normal symptoms, at least from what I have been reading about it. Good to know that you have 6-7 follies!!!

Suzhan - I hope for the best, I totally understand what you must be going through emotionally. It is hard to be positive while not getting your hopes up. When we were trying TGP I did not get my AF for 6 days, which never ever happens and I was convinced this is it, I am finally PG. I was so happy. And sure enough, the next day AF came and it was on my B-day. I was so emotional, I could not stop crying, even at work I had teary eyes... uff! So now I am not getting my hopes up and if it happens, it happens, and if not, I am ready for it as well. Good luck with everything!!!!

Mia, I found this article
http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:19nc ... =clnk&cd=1
regarding antrals, hope it helps... 8)

Sam - any preg. symptoms yet? How are you feeling ? :)

Ladies, have a nice weekend and take a good care of yourself!

Suzhan-
It is not over until it is over. I saw many posts where the HPT test gave a false negative. THose test are not that great. You may be able to call the doctor tomorrow and beg for an insight to your beta test. I was able to and my clinic was the same as yours. I am keeping fingers crossed.

Champa--I was tired all the time. I am not a very tired person (lots of enenrgy) and I could barely move through the process. THink of all those eggs forming and it just weighs you down. Make sure you sleep and nap, it only helps.
Also 6-7 is just fine. I thought I was a rock star because I had 16. By the end I did not even have anything left to freeze. It only takes one and that is the case in your situation.

Alicia- Cramping is totally normal. You may cramp until your second or thrid month of pregnancy. THat what the doctors told me. I was freaked out and was told that cramping (esp. in the 2ww is a good sign). Of course if it gets out of hand, call the doctor. I have had no spotting but was told that was normal as well.

Lola-thanks for keeping us updated, makes it easier as everyones names are different than their email's.

I am feeling good, despite peeing every five minutes and some cramping. I started work today and was not going to tell anyone as I am only a month pregnant. Appearenlty I look like I am showing as many people asked me if I was pregnant. Kinda weird. My good friend/co worker who has not seen me (and knew I was going through this) told me that my boobs are huge and my stomach is quite big compared to usual. She said I look about 4/5 months pregnant. This is all due to the swelling and retaining water. I might come clean as everyone now thinks I just pu on loads of weight for the summer.

Which is worse? Would you tell? I felt really embarrased or should I just get over it?

Anyway, still very happy about the pregnancy and waiting for the three weeks to hear a heartbeat and find out if it is twins (Sept 7th)

Hey ladies-- I just wanted to do a quick update. Today's retrieval went very well. They were able to get 9 eggs. Tomorrow they will call to tell me how many fertilized. I'm gonna grab something to eat then get some more rest! Take care!

Thanks Lola for the link. According to the chart on that site, the women my age with the same number of antrals, 37% had live births. I guess that's not too bad. Congrats on starting stimms. It's not too bad once you get started. And time goes quick. :)

Alicia, How I do miss the S. Cali weather 8). I've been craving the beach for awhile now. My brother lives in Long Beach, a visit would be a good excuse to go. How did you find your RE and what made you decide to travel to do your IVF there? My ER is estimated to be on the 23rd. I should know for sure on Monday. Seems that things are going really smooth and exactly as planned, so far. I hope that will continue until ET and beyond.

Champa, Looks like we ARE on the same schedule. I only have meds to last til tuesday, so I hope things keep going smooth. Hopefully I do ER on wednesday. Today is day 7 of stimms for me and for the first time I feel really bloated, although I weighed myself and I seem to have lost about 4 lbs since last month :? . I don't know how it happend, I've never owned a scale before this. My boobs have not grown yet  (kidding). I also feel very tired and have had to take naps during the day. I feel a little cramping not too bad though.

Sam, I'm still so excited for you. You make me feel so optimistic. :D

Wannababy, Get yourself some big yummy meals for the next couple of days, you deserve it. Good luck with fertilization! hope you get all healthy embies :) I can't wait to hear about it.

Wannababy - CONGRATS! Lucky number 9 is the same that I had. Can't wait to find out when your ET date is. :D

Mia - We live in Arizona, but my DH works in San Diego during the week and comes home only on weekends. :( To expensive to live in CA and my family lives in Arizona.

In Yuma there is not 1 specialist for IVF, just regular OBGYN doctors. Since my DH works in San Diego I did a search on the internet and picked the first one that I clicked on! Probably not the smartest thing, but I'm putting most of my trust in the Lord above.
Are you getting nervous about your ER? I can't believe how quickly we all are progressing. Pretty soon we will all be sharing baby stories!

Alicia and Mia,

Just a quick note, I live in Southern Cal. too!!! Mia, if you take the 15th freeway south to see your brother, you should stop by! I live off of the 15th   And my mom lives very close to Long Beach, I go to there every month and enjoy the beach. I am actually going to stay with her the last few days before my ER, just because it is closer to the clinic.
