1ST Time for IVF

Help, went to see the dr on monday and she has told us we can start treatment hopefully next month. Cant believe it, dont know whether im scared or excited, both I think. We should of started back in may, but I fell ill on holiday (this should have been a break before we started) with a bowel obstruction and was only suppose to be away for a week and ended up in portugal for nearly a month, had to have emergency surgery and lost a lot of weight. So I was put back 3 months while I tried like mad to put it on, and im sorry about this but im one of these people who find it difficult to put weight on !!! Anyway ive told im being started on a low dose as ive had a kidney transplant, so there only putting 1 back when the time comes... So when im ready I will need all your help as I dont understand all the language, so I hope you will translate when im ready. hi nicky sorry to hear about your holiday it must of been terrible for you. welcome to the site.I have found it really great and some one always knows the answer to your questions. ivf is a long road to travel but talking to other people in the same boat has really helped. well best of luck and i will be happy to answer any question you might have july ann

Hi Nicky As July Ann & Nikola say, welcome to the site I too was like you & a otal novice when I first logged on, I have learnt so much from the girls on here which is great cos I always have loads of question for my consultant each time I go to the clinic.... sorry you have been poorly but your there now so try & stay positive. I am on the 2ww(2 week wait) at the mo but there is a thread going for October cycle buddies(girls doing treatment in Oct) so maybe you could hop on there & cycle with them...it really helps to have cycle buddies. Hi Nicky Welcome to the site. Sorry to hear about your holiday you've been through so much already. I'm a newbie, its my first cycle i'm having ICSI due to male factor. Just wanted to thank everyone for replying to me, its just nice to know your out there if I need you. I can only log on at work, and its usually evenings as thats what I work. Its great cause i use to work full time, but I just do 20hrs a week, this offer came up at the beginning of the year and I took it as I thought it would be useful when I need to keep going to the hospital, the only thing is I cant stop watching telly in bed in the morning, little house on the praire and ER the list is endless....... Anyway thanks again girls for the support and good luck to you. Speak to you nearer my time, Oh no the butterflies are setting in!!!!! Just 1 question before I go and do some work, is there a problem with taking vitamins before and during treatment. Nickyxx

Hi nicky, sorry to hear of your problems and glad you can now get started. Re vitamins - I am taking pronatal and I some people take pregnacare. Also some people take chinese medicine too. Hope this helps lots of love Kat xx
