First BFP today...question about my beta level.

Post by michelleb »

Yeah!!! Got my BFP today! The 2ww was soooo long. I was just wondering about my beta level. My RE says it is very good @ 217. Is this too high?

Hi Michelle,

Congratulations on your BFP!!!

Is there such thing as a beta too high??? Usually the higher numbers represent multiples. Mine was 314 16 dpt then 3100 20 days post but we all vary.

Stop worry and enjoy your pregnancy!! :D

Hi,

anything over 50 is considered a positive, so congratulations. the range for HCG is so wide, so dont worry about the numbers, it is more what they continue to do than the first one. You think the 2ww was long, well believe me (sorry) but the wait until your heartbeat scan is the longest ever.

good luck

Congratulations Michelle :D :D :D How many day post ET are the beta numbers? Either way - the beta looks very strong and healthy! Sometimes the betas mean multiples...but this is not always the case...mine were extremely high but turns out she is just one healthy little baby :D Be happy - you are pregnant and enjoy the time!

Michelle - congratulations! I am 27 weeks pregnant after my first BFP (4th attempt at IVF), and I worried about everything & anything for so long, so I understand. I think I even thought my Beta was too high at one point! Mine was 160 after 2ww - so don't worry. Just relax, and enjoy! Congratulations!!!!

Congratulations!!!!

Don't get hung up on numbers - it's over 50 and good, so just enjoy that!!
The meaning of numbers vary from person to person and they are only guidelines - this time, around 6 weeks, my numbers were astronomical - in fact, above the 'norm' - it still still out to be only one. Yet I know of lots of women who had lower numbers and then had twins!!!

Take care
