I am new to this so big hello to everyone. I had my first IVF on 4th August and a blood test on 18th August confirmed that we have been successful and I am indeed pregnant! Wheyhey, I am very happy about this wonderful news. Now I am coming up 3 weeks post transfer and I am constantly having a feeling of doubt as to whether this is true and if I am still pregnant? Nothing untoward had happened but since I don't feel much - no vomiting, lightheadedness, tiredness etc. I do have sore boobs but I think thats the progesterone. I'm just confused and don't fully believe this is happening yet. Did anyone else feel as confused as me? Please do tell me if I'm the only silly billy [/quote][/b]
You are not the only silly billy! I think most of us feel like this. I mainly had sore boobs at this point and felt a bit 'off' but I don't think it would have mattered if I was throwing my guts up, I would still not have believed it! When you try for so long and go through so much to get pregnant, it is much harder to believe it when it happens.
when I did feel sick, if I missed one day feeling sick, I would think it was all over! I didn't really believe I was pregnant til I saw my baby on the scan and even then I kept thinking it would all go wrong! I'm 22 weeks now and still find it hard to believe even when the baby is kicking me to bits!
My friend didnt get one symptom until she was 7 weeks and then she was hit with 24 hour nausea and vomiting until about 13 weeks.
we are all very different and have varying symptoms. Mine were all over the place and sometimes disappeared for days. I used to feel relief when I vomited! I wanted to be sick.
You are not a silly-billy at all. To be honest, I never really have had any symptoms throughout my pregnanacy apart from sore boobs, oh and a bout of OHSS, which was caused through the drugs.
I have not been sick once and am carrying twins, so please don't be alarmed if you have no symptoms or don't feel pregnant.
I didn't feel properly pregnant until I felt my babies kicking me.
Good luck and enjoy

Hi, hope you are Ok. If it helps I feel exactly the same as you! I had a BFP on 1st Aug, we saw the heartbeat on 18th. (that makes me 7weeks 2days) I still do not feel in the slightest bit pg. I have no symptoms at all, not even sore boobs as most people have. If we hadn't seen the scan I wouldn't believe it!
I know that symptoms will probably kick in with avengence very soon! Let's enjoy not feeling sick etc...while it lasts!
Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with me. And thank you so much for the congrats and encouraging words. It means a lot. You know what, from now on instead of asking myself 'am I still pregnant?', I will affirm to myself that 'I am pregnant and I am nourishing a baby inside me.'
You enjoy your pregnancies too. I guess we are just lucky if we do not suffer much from the process.
I have one more shocking surprise just then. I used the pregnancy calculator and using the day of Egg Retrieval (4th August) they calculated that I am 4 wks & 6 days gone! I mean, I've been saying I'm 2 weeks and 6 days gone as I thought the day the eggs were retrieved was also the day they fertilised and hence Day 1. What do you think, is the calculator right?
Yes, the calculator is right, normally they count back from your supposed last LMP, which is normally 2 weeks before fertilisation.
good luck

Yep, I agree - it's right, so you need to add another 2 weeks - Congratulations!
Don't worry about feeling anything - many women don't, so it's perfectly normal. My doctor says that sometimes it doesn't kick in until 8 weeks, if at all.
Just enjoy!!

Thank you again everyone for taking the time to reply. I'm feeling positively positive today For some reason I'm much happier being 5 weeks pregnant than 3 weeks
Dont worry! I think the only symptoms I had were entirely due to the drugs and not the BFP.
I had a raised temperature (again, maybe due to drugs and maybe BFP?) for the first 3 weeks or so after ET. I was monitoring my temp each morning and jusr felt flushed generally. When the temp returned to normal over night I was convinced it was all over.
I think ealry on we all look for the signs as after what we have been through as this is what we have been waiting for for so long!
Relax and enjoy the BFP (easier said than done, I know!). YOu may be fortunate and not suffer sickness....mine didnt arrive until six weeks. I was dying to feel nausea so I think it served me right....I had it all day!
Take care
