Test Dates for SCB

Post by val »

Hello everyone! I'm back after 3 days of rest and relaxation. I did have the transfer on Saturday. Of the 10 fertilized eggs, only 2 were good enough to be put back on day 5. 6 stopped developing on day 3 and 2 were not quite where they should be on day 5 so they were going to culture them a couple of more days to see if they would be worth freezing.

I'm making myself a little crazy by trying noticing every little move my body makes and trying to decide if it is a good sign or a bad sign. I really need to quit that! Easier said than done.

Nikola, my test date is the 23rd. Hopefully Di and I will come back with a couple of positives on the 23rd to get the ball rolling for the 25ths.

Good luck everybody!
Test Dates for SCB

Hi all,
have had a bad couple of days as had to have my rabbit put down on Monday. I got him just after my mam died 4 years ago. When we came back from Notts after tmt, we collected him from the kennels and he was a 3rd of his normal size. So we duly took him to vets where he was kept in overnight and had a load of tests which showed renal failure. We were warned to expect the worse and over the last week he just got more down and weaker so on Monday we'd to make the decision to have him put down - something I've not had to face before! Don't know if its with everything else going on but I've felt so so upset. I keep hearing my uncle's voice saying ' as one door shuts another slams in your face' - I'm not known for having much good luck! So am now sure tmt won't have worked! Although I'm not due to send urine sample down to Notts til Sat I'm gonna test tomorrow!
Di

Di - I'm so sorry about your rabbit. You have every reason to be upset, if anything happened to arthur or Jez (my dogs) I would be devastated. You must try to think of it as relieving him of all the pain he was suffering and now he isn't suffering anymore.

I'm not good on cliche sayings, but rather than thinking about what your uncle said (which isn't particularly helpful!!) how about the saying that in order for a new birth someone has to die. Maybe the rabbit dying has made way for a new baby!

I told you I wasn't much good at cliches, but people do say that, don't they? Old people? Or gypsies at the fair, or someone, I'm sure I've not just made it up....!!

Try to remain focussed on the tmt. If it will make you feel better to test, then test, but its probably too early and if you get a -ve it will make you feel worse AND its not necessarily an accurate reading!!

Hang on in there, try to keep positive and we're all here for you when you need it!!

Keep going girl, you are so close now.

love nikola.xx

Hi DI,
Really sorry about your rabbit, Im sure hes up there playing with your mum now!!

I agree with what Nikola says
Your Uncle sounds very harsh!! Are you close?

Anyway I thought it was "as 1 door shuts another one opens" so tell him to shove that in his pipe!!

Try & stay positive.

You say you are testing tomorrow....is that your true test date?? Please dont test early as the result can change in just a day
Thinking of you
Sarah
xx

July ann - don't be naughty you are NOT to do a pg test early!!! That is like opening your christmas presents early and if you didn't get a bike/barbie or whatever pressie you wanted Christmas is ruined and over!!

Be patient and wait - keep drinking your water and put your feet up and stop thinking about hpt!!!

love nikola.xx

Hi All and thanks for all your kind words - they really do help and I'm feeling much more positive today! You certainly gave me a laugh
Nikola - if you cliche right, does that mean I'm having kittens( rabbit ones that is!)
Sarah - my uncle has just seen me go through so much in the last few years with the deaths of my mam, nana and gran within 8 weeks of each other follwed by my brother's sudden death 11 months later. Then I'd to go through a load of tests to see if I'd inherited the same heart condition that killed him. Then when it looked that things were looking up with me being pregnant on my 6th attempt and having my OU psychology degree graduation, we discovered the baby had died at 10 weeks. So he's not really being awful - just pointing out that if it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all!
I'm feeling fairly positive re tmt at mo - I've always bled by this stage except for time it worked! Its exactly 2 weeks since et today and I've to send urine sample down to Notts on Sat but due to post ect it'll be tues before results are available!
Julyann - you are going to be a nightmare for the next week -its far too early to test. But I do understand the need to know, but do try to be patient!
Di

Di, poor you. Its no wonder some of your tmts haven't worked the amount of stressful situations you've had to cope with recently. Fingers crossed this is the one!!

Now re the cliches, don't be mean to me, I try so hard to think of something sensible and caring to say and it aways sounds like I'm taking the piss!!

I'd be asking some very serious questions if you gave birth to some baby rabbits...erm, lets not go there. No wonder this site is described as an adult sex site with themes of an adult nature!!

On a more sensible note, why bother sending the urine sample to Nottingham, why not just dip the stick in and then have a blood test at your GP? Also what the hell is going to happen if there is a postal strike? (I did hear on the news its being cancelled....for now!).

I have to test two weeks after EC if today is two weeks after ET then surely you must be able to test by now? I know I told July Ann off for naughty behaviour, but she wanted to test a week early - you're must be ready by now.....

Its really strange how different clinics do things in different ways - bizarre.

love nikola.x

Sorry Nikola,
Didn't mean to be mean to you! Just couldn't resist the thought that followed on from your cliche!!!! And never mind you asking some very serious questions if I gave birth to baby rabbits I think DH and I would be too!!
YOUR KIND WORDS AND THOUGHTS AND CLICHES HELP TREMENDOUSLY - AND BRING A SMILE AT TIMES! SO KEEP THINKING THEM UP!!!
You're right about different units doing things differently - Edinburgh have you going at the same time as every else is there for pre ec scans ( not a pleasant experience when you know its failed) and Dundee get you to test at home 16 days post et.
I've still not tested - preferring to stay in this state of possibly being pregnant and making the most of it! Still no sign of bleed!
How are you doing anyway?
Di

July ann - you do make me laugh! At the mo I'm happy thinking I'm pregnant cos I haven't bled - whereas if I test and its neg then I have to deal with that. What did the unit saw to you when you pleaded with them for a test? Or did they just shake their heads? lol.
I'm getting pressure from DH to test - in fact he'd have had me testing from Monday!
I promise I'll send my urine sample down to Notts in the morn and then I'll wait til Tues for the result!!!
Does anyone else know of someone who hasn't bled by this time and not been pregnant?
And thanks to you, Grace for your good wishes!
Di

hi di

clinic said they can tell from a blood test on day 11-12 but wait because you could of been pg and the hcg would still be in your blood and you might of lost it already.so they wait until day 15. i have always tested early and i find it helps me to prepare for a negative blood test as the clinic i go to always test even if you have had af and a neg hpt.I have had af before a test date normally, but last time i did not but when i stopped the pessarys af arrived the next day.

grace good luck with your next tmt my doctor calls me a hard core ivf'er.

well on day 9 now not long to go.

from july ann.
