Hi Ladies.....
I've been reading this site for awhile now and after reading about all of you August/September buddies, I would really love to share with you. My short version story is: 36 years old, been trying for 2 1/2 years, been with fertility clinic for a year, and have finally arrived at the IVF door. I'll being "suppression protocol" in about 2 weeks with follistim and lupron. I'd really love to hear about some of your experiences in dealing with the shots and procedures. I'm extremely nervous about the egg withdrawal.
I'm thankful to find somewhere outside of my friends circle to vent/discuss all this. I am beginning to feel like quite the downer to ALL of pregnant or new mommy friends.

Anybody else from Georgia?

Thankfully.................Mary

Hello Ladies!!

Auntie--So glad the jigging finally paid off!! WooHoo!!!

AMD--that is so wonderful about the money. I have been worried about the same thing but I am just going to take a leap of faith and go for it!! I love that song too, I have to hit my hands because I am always trying to take back the wheel and we wreak everytime!!!

Lisa-- this is just one of these things that I know that no matter what anyone says it just doesn't make all the fear go away!! I so wish I could make it all better for you!!!

Jackie--Oh what fun playing with a pup!! I just love puppies!! Do you live in the city or country? I live in the country and I can't imagine trying to house break a pup in the city. We can just let our run around out in the back yard!! I'm spoilt I know!! You got a snuggler too, I got to have a snuggler!!

I can't wait to call the clinic tomorrow to get my official schedule!!! I don't have to have a baseline, I just will start BCP and antibiotic and then start Lupron on day 19 of cycle and then go for suppression check!!!

WOOHOO let the games begin!!

Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers!!

Speaking of prayers I had a hard time at church today, a girl from church had her baby over the weekend and that made me realize that I would have been 33wks along if I hadn't have lost our little girl, Jaden Elizabeth, we miss you!!!

See how I am an emotional rollercoster today!! We have to just have to have faith that it all will work out!!!

Hi Mary and a big Image
you have come to a great place for support and information.
congratulations on getting started on the path to your bundle try to take every step as it comes along you can keep a little bit of sanity that way, the shots really arnt as bad as you think and every shot you take is one step closer
the stimming fase is the most fun especialy when you start to feel them growing... as for Egg Collection im looking forward to it they give you some happy juice its like time travel syrup in a syringe (sends you too the 60's)and when you wake up you get your body back for 3-5 days

wishing you luck with your cycle... welcome again

love and hugs Debz

Hi ladies! Well, I had my blood drawn today but I was wrong about my scan. That is tomorrow! I was sooo dissapointed. Meanwhile...for the third day in a row they have told me not to change anything with my meds. Is this ok? What does this mean? I feel so out of control...like I don't understand any of this. Please inform if you can.

Also...I am waiting for my follies to get to what size? How many need to reach that size?

Thanx!

Hi Zirly, our clinics can be so forgetful cant they they forget we have a head that needs to be informed we arnt just walking ovies....them keeping your meds the same means you are responding perfectly to the dose you are on that's a really good thing they are looking for nice steady levels and it looks liek your doing great, as for follies my clinic like the largest one to be around 21 at your scan tomorrow ask them what size they are looking for because i know some clinics do things differently i know my clinic likes my euostrogen to be around 200 per mature egg last time it was 1900 and i got 11 mature eggs so i wouldnt worry about your levels too much... its always nice to know they expect you to ask too so dont be worried.

looking forward to your scan tomorrow

Thanks, Debz! I am very thankful for the support. So, I get back to normal 3 to 5 days after retrieval? See, I REALLY like the clinic where I am and love my Dr and the nurse I talk to all the time. I know they are supposed to underestimate the discomfort/pain level of procedures a bit, but they told me that I would be back to normal after a day. They also told me that the sonohystogram (sp) would be the comfort level of a pap smear which was far from what I experienced. I may just have a terribly low tolerance for pain, but when the tell me one thing and I experience something completely different, it makes me very nervous, frightened even, about everything to come. I know that going into this whole process anxious will not help my chances for success.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Am I just a big baby?

Hi Mary, no way your not a baby at all.... its very scarey firstly did you ask them how they do EC i mean sedation or general, i have had both to be honest one minuet im talking the next thing i know they are waking me up and its all over i feel a bit groggy that day and a bit sore afterwards but not as bad as AF cramps and by then your so excited to know how many eggs you got then waiting for the calls to see how they are doing it kinda takes your mind off the whole EC ... i remember my Dr asking now do you have any concerns i was "yeah i want to feel nothing hear nothing and be aware of nothing untill you wake me up" ... he said ooo you wont be... and i wasnt
i would say to your clinic you have worries you will know about it make sure they say no you wont. im sorry i dont know what a SP is... i know i had to have a hytosalpinogram....(spelling) they said it would be mild discomfort like AF pain... i was screaming with pain while they where doing it so that was a big lie i had little trust of there pain association so know what you mean but EC is nothing like that your out for it.

lots of love Debz

Hi! I hope you all are having a good weekend :)

I got today's update from my RE. We have one very good 8 cell embryo, 4 that are fair but are slower and in the 6 cell stage. He said the others are not as good and have some fragmentation. We are optimistic, all we need is that one good one. He'll be updating me daily and transfer should be tuesday or wednesday. Hopefully I'll know tomorrow. :)

oh Mia i have been waiting for your post... i love those little fragmented embies i looked into eggs a lot (when i was thinking of asking for the PDG test)and what i found out was that fragmented eggs usually turn out to be the best embies in the end on studies that have been done, and ghost posted once about a video he had seen of a fragmented egg that turned into a beatiful blast embie, i had 4 perfect embies 3 (8cell)with almost no fragmentation and 1 (6cell)had a little bit and i got nothing from them i am really hoping this time i get some fraggy embies so lets start praying hard your little fraggies prove them wrong and make some beautiful blasts.

lots of luck and love Debz

Mia honey your embies sound great! I bet by now they are big and strong Image
You must be getting so excited as your time is getting close.. Keep us posted on the progress..

Mary
No way are you a baby at all. This whole process is crazy scary when its your first time...Aunty gave the same info I would have. for me the EC was a very scary thought but as I woke up all I wanted to know was how many embies and how they looked.I really did not feel any discomfort. My clinic also gave pain pills for after the EC I did take one but I left the other ones. I am really glad you have found us and trust me when I say that we have all had the same concerns/questions you have had..

love and hugs to all
