KF, I'm sorry to hear your cycle was cancelled . It must be frustrating. Like the rest of us, I'm sure you've been waiting a long time to get pregnant. It's not over, just a temporary setback, so hang in there. I wish the best for you.

I got our embie update for today! It's looking good, I think I'm going to get 2 for a fresh transfer and probably 3 to freeze, just as I'm hoping for. The speedy one is now 'compacting' and is in the begining of the blastocyst stage. 4 are at the stage right before blastocyst stage. The rest are at an 8 cell stage and the RE says they could still grow. So it sounds like they are all going pretty strong. I'm very pleased! My RE will call again tomorrow to see if we can do the transfer . I want to say I think My RE is brilliant and such a nice man too. A Dr with a good brain and a good heart, you can't beat that!

I have a question ladies? My clinic doesnt do the blastocyst, (if they do, they havent mentioned it to us yet!) so how long will they normally wait before putting the embies back in?

Becky, You are probably looking at a 3 day transfer if it is not blast. So they will grow three days out of your body then put back in. (I think...I am still new at this as well).

Zirly was right I would have to assume you are lookign at the 3 day transfer. I have seen 2 day 3 day and up to 5 day.. My clinic also does 3 day....

Hey Becky,
Didnt you decide to only fertilize two eggs... i dont think they would even consider blast for you usually we loose some eggs if they taken to blast stage and you will only have two it would be too risky for you to end up with no transfer my clinic wont let me do blast because im old so i have a three day transfer

Zirly, keep stimming. I know the bruises are the worst!! I had them in the stomach and now I have them in the butt from the progesterone

There are so many of us cycling right now and its so exciting at all stages!!

I am in th 2ww. Had ET on Sat. Hoping that my babies are snuggled in.
Im very tired and crampy and have very sore breasts.

I hope you dont mind that Im joining you.

Girls, I told my boss today ekkk!! I was so scared and It went wonderfully!! He actually finished my sentence when I told him that work was very important to me but this is also very important too!! I create mangement reports for our clients at the 1st of every month and is really busy for me and of course my ER and ET is during that time. I asked if they could set it up where I could do this from home so that I won't go stir crazy and he thought that was very possible! This way I will get paid to do IVF So I am very excited now!!!! Please God let this be the one!!!

KF i am so sorry that this cycle had to be cancelled for you - look after yourself and be positive for next time - it'll soon come around! The days will soon pass and then hopefully next time u'll b telling us about ur BFP!

Well, its 5 am and i've been up since 3.30! I will be at the hospital for EC in less that 2 hrs!

I woke up with awful aching pains down below and am convincing myself that the HCG shot hasn't worked properly and everything is going 2 go wrong 2day?? Fingers crossed!

I'm going to go and have a shower now - i'll post when i get home.

Love and best wishes to all and Aunty, i will be picturing u all at the end of the bed with me coz ur all so positive, it'll help me along!!!

Zirly - FANTASTIC news on your follies and lining! Keep up the stellar work! It sounds like a great number of follies to me and yes, I've heard the same thing - that too many can mean not as good of quality. I have that tri - thing too! I always forget the word they say!!! haha!!

Casy - Congrats on AF! This month will fly by and it will be time before you know it!!!

Jackie - Those are all good symptoms to have! I look forward to the good news!!!

As for me, what a rollarcoaster of a day this has been. My u/s was this morning. My follies have grown! From 11,11,10,9 & 9 on Friday to 17,15,15,14 & ? today! I was so glad to hear it. My E2 went from 242 to 470. The nurse said nothing about cancelling (phew!) just told me to start the Menapur/Antagon tonight and plan on ER for around Friday. The cyst was barely mentioned!!! So, i WAS happy for part of the day... THEN the doctor called. He explained that 5 follicles usually means less eggs (like 3) and that means less embryos (1?) meaning our odds of success are not very good. Although he said we could take our chances with this cycle, he advised cancelling (so that we could get most of our money back) and starting at the highest dose of Gonal F from the beginning of the next cycle (they didn't up me until day 6 this time). He said my chances would improve if we did that. I hung up very discouraged and called my DH. We discussed how we'd been "accepted" into their success guarantee program initially, which meant that we'd get a percentage (80%) back if the cycle was not successful. We wondered, why then would it be to our advantage to cancel when we'd be getting about the same amount back anyway?
Also, I think an advantage with continuing even if the cycle is unsuccessful is that they will learn more about my eggs and how the sperm and eggs interact, etc. to be better informed the next time...
We called back and inquired and apparantly my RE didn't realize I was in the success guarantee and they seem to think it would make sense for us to continue. The financial rep is supposed to return a call tomorrow to verify that we have it right. I sure hope so.

So anyway, what would you guys do?? Sorry to write such a long message... it's just been so upsetting, frustrating, confusing, etc!!!!!
I know our odds aren't good, but what about that saying I keep hearing that "it only takes one." So anyway, that's my update.

Good morning everyon, although it feels like the middle of the night.

Just a short post to tell you that I have been for my scan and I have got 15 follies and one collapesed follie at 2.6, that may be a cycst. My follices are from 0.6 - 0.9 so they still need to grow a bit more. The nurse said that they need them to grow for about another week but may have to alter the medication. She will phone me later on with the blood result to let me know. Also she has told me to drink extra water and no heavy lifting at all which surprised me. I knew that I couldn't lift during the 2ww but didn't know it started now. I break up from work on Sunday for a week and had been planning to give the kitchen I work in a spring clean ready for my relief. Sounds like that will be out now.

Well I am going to try and get an hours sleep before I have to go to work so will post more later.
