evening all,

the literature from my clinic said no shellfish, swordfish and soft cheeses and thats from now....!! Do prawns count as shellfish...so love prawn cocktails!!

thankfully don't like liver so won't miss that one......

I'm sure though chocolate is allowed...would we do without chocolate, they do say it is a substitute for sex and as I'm not allowed that at the mo then chocolate it is... hee hee

Also been told to drink 2 ltrs of water a day - really struggling with that one...has anyone else been told that one too?

Emma/Becky - good luck tomorrow with your EC - will be sending big hugs to you both.

Vickie - hope all went well today - lap all the tlc up and rest well.

Aunty - good news from your scan.

Karen, sorry i missed your post... wow talk about putting a big heavy damper on your cycle...i agree with jackie it only takes 1 little fighter to get your dream... i also wanted to say i was told i only had 5 follies last time and that to expect 3-4 eggs...and we should be looking at maybe getting 1 embie ...we got 11 eggs..10 mature ended the cycle with 4 embies...so you never know.. praying you have your little fraggie in there. thinking of you

lots of love Debz

1st menopor injection

Post by nimble »

I've just done my first menopor injection - how complicated is that! All that mixing from one bottle to the next. :?

There was a tiny droplet left in the sringe (is that spelt right!?) - do you think that is ok ? Worried that I haven't had my full dose. Do you get the hang of it - with all the mixing I mean...

Quite exicted that I'm finally on my way and to add to that I've managed to sell my Robbie Williams tickets on ebay!! Devasted that I can't go as clashes (hopefully ) with my EC/ET transfer and seeing him would be just too much for one week. Although the end result is worth so much more....

lots of love to all and big hugs

:D Nimble isnt it great to be on the egg food ... ive read a lot about not being able to get all the meds out i dont think it makes any difference ...im sorry you will have to miss Robbie (i can sing to you if you like) "im loving angels instead...and through it allllll....)ooo ok not pretty sorry. (Aunty sounds like fox's mating when she sings) but your right your bundle will more than compensate for missing robbie.

i got my FSH back 6.4 woohoo im so pleased with that they said i have the insides of a spring chicken (outsides like an old crow) but its the inside that counts

love to all Debz

aunty, I'm sure you have the looks and voice of an angel - you sure have the heart. :D

What is a normal 'rating' for FSH then - is 6.4 good? I guess so if youre jumping for joy... when are going for EC?

Hi

Just poped in for a quick visit during the advert breaks. Nimble I have been told today to make sure I have at least 2.5 litres of water a day which I am finding really hard, I can't stop running to the loo all the time. So much for putting my feet up and taking it easy everytime I get comfortable I have to get up again.

I have just got one question I would like some help with. How many follicules is normal. When they told me this morning I had got 15 it seemed like a lot. But then the nurse who phoned this afternoon said that they expect lots more by Thursday when I go for my next scan. I checked in zita and she says that more than 30 can cause OHSS. It is all so scary.

Also can I ask if any of you have been reading any pregnancy magazines. I just so want to buy one to read, but think I am tempting fate so won't let myself. I guess I have always been impatient and just need to concentrate on the IVF for the moment. I wondered if I was the only mad one on here.

Well the adverts are over so I am back off to the settee, via the loo.

Speak to you all soon
Angela

Hi

glad i'm not the only one finding it difficult drinking all that water - which reminds me, only done about 1ltr so far must go and get more...!

I can't answer the folly question but would be interested to find out.

As for the magazines, have to admit not been tempted yet although have started to think about which room would suit a nursery and have even tempted fate by mentioning it...but as everyone here says - think positive and have a PMA and thats what we are doing...!! :D So no, you're not the only mad one..its natural.

Morning ladies,

jeez thistime difference thing is crazy..I have so many posts to read in the morning ( am being naughty and doing this in between patients)

Haylie -
glad injections are still going well, and yes I am still very tired and also very constipated (sorry if TMI)
We have only told our parents, my best friends and my boss..only because I need to have time off for bloods and scans etc.

jeck-
re the lunch meat. The danger from deli meats, shell fish and soft cheeses etc is Listeria which may not affect you but can affect the foetus. I have been given also a list of foods to stay away from If I get preggers. All deli meats including cold ham, shell fish (prawns included) and all unpasturised cheese, esp soft cheeses. Leftovers are ok as long as it is heated to nuclear hot!! to kill all bacteria. The other big thing is mayo and salad dressings that contain raw egg.It does seem a lot and we wonder how we all managed to be born as I was telling my mum this and she had never heard of such a thing!

nimble-
Yes I was told also to drink 3 litres of water a day. Apparently it helps to prevent OHSS. So I'm drinking about 2.5lts and peeing A LOT!!!

hope every one else is good, Off to do some work now!

Nimble

i forgot to add earlier that I am also on menopour and when I did the first lot I couldn't believe what a faf all the mixing was. It does become easier and I don't have to think about it so much now. However don't do what I did. Yesterday I was watching TV at the same time as doing the mixing and forgot to watch what I was doing and stuck the big needle into my finger just near my nail. Not to be recommended. Today I went back to doing the mixing etc in a quiet room on my own.

Has anyone had itching breasts on menopour or bruseline. Yesterday mine felt a little bit itchy but tonight they are really bad. Also I feel very very bloated and uncomfortable to the point that I can't get comfortable.

still it will be worth it with a BFP.

Good luck everyone
Angela

Hi everyone, I hope you're having a good tuesday!

I'm writting to you from my bed! That's right, I went through ET today! Our clinic called this morning at 9:30 to tell me that the RE wanted me to come in at 11 AM to do my transfer . So off we went. I went through ET at about 12:00 and we were done at 12:15. We transfered 2. The rest will have another day to grow and he said we might have 2 to freeze. The RE told us it was the perfect transfer. The 2 embryos were very good quality and they were placed in just the right spot. So now we just have to wait and see if they implant. I was in recovery for an hour. I was a little concerned because the nurse, who was new, told me I could get up and pee after only 30 minutes. I wasn't sure I should do it, but I also was afraid that the pressure on my bladder might not be so good. I think the nurse had me dress and get ready to go to soon also. They told me in the procedure room i'd rest for an hour and she had me dress after 45 minutes. So I sat in a recliner chair (in the recovery room) for another 15 minutes, because my DH left and was told to return at 1:15. I am already a worry wart I really hated the ride home too. I hated every bump and prayed everything will be OK. I must be nuts. You can't lose your embies 30 minutes after ET when you pee, right?

I just wanted to wish you the very very best in your two weeks! It sounds like a perfect recipe for success...and your attitude is soooooooo great (the most needed part of this recipe) I think positive thinking goes so far! Keep us posted and happy bed rest :) (can't wait for mine)

Mia- take it easy now and gets lots of well earned rest during your 2ww.

Jackie - I've been talking to you on the other thread but it's easier to keep uptodate on this one. I have been told to drink 2L of water and am finding it hard as well and am also getting up to go to toilet 2 or 3 times in the night which is really annoying! Someone in work has even asked me if I'm pregnant cos I'm going to the loo so much- if only they knew!!!!

Thinking of you Becky and Emma for your EC this morning

Take care
