Its great to here that things are going well.. So you are having a 3 day transfer right? You are putting 2 little ones back and are you freezing the rest?

Haylie I also have PCOS and I think Lissa (bella) does too.. Have they put you on Metformin? I know that helped me and I have heard it does wonders for PCOS patients..

Jackie and Aunty - about freezing, the embryologist said that they will grade the embies 2moro and they will only freeze if they are excellent quality.
We were initially hoping to freeze but feel we r a bit limited as we only have 5 that have fertilised. If we can do u think it is worth freezing 2 or 3?
We hoped that as the success rate for frozen cycles is about half that of fresh cycles that if we froze we may get enough to do a FET twice and so then have the same odds. We obviously won't b able to do that now.

Wot do you think - as its our first time i haven't got a clue!

I think 5 fertilized is great The idea of having a couple frozen would be nice (if you want a little brother or sister) as the embies that going to be with you now are going to hanging out for a good long 9 months

Haylie.. I have done reasearch and PCOS can sometimes be managed with metformin alone. Its a pill you take 3 times a day. PCOS patients often have higher insuln levels (which is my case) and the metformin can help with that. I would ask it cant hurt.. Bella is on it and her levels have also decreased now that she has been on the metformin.. Some women have a hard time with it (it can make you run to the loo) my first weeks on it I had to adjust but it was ok)
I would ask and see what your doc say

Hi everyone. How are we all? I'm in a wee bit if a state! Had blood test today (no scan) and got my results. Levels high so have to reduce my Gonal from 225 to 150. Got to go in for scan and bloods tomorrow. Tummy feels funny - like period pains and feeling a wee bit sick in the morning. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms and also a clear discharge. I'm pencilled in for ER on the 4th but don't know what'll happen now. Paula x

Macca-sorry it wasn't better news today but as they said it's too early to be definate. Fingers crossed for better news. Take care of yourself

Paula- sorry to hear your news on blood results. Hope the reduced dose of Gonal F works. Fingers crossed and take care of yourself, can only imagine how you feel with this set back but hopefully its just temporary.

Hello honey.. try not to worry. I have seen them decrease the meds and than a couple of days later they go back up..They just are trying to figure out your magic dose with the period type pain and upset belly.. It may be all the goings on in there.. I remember as my ER got closer I felt as if I had 15 bowling balls in there Keep us posted and try to put your feet up..

Casy I just love your signature.. It gives us so much hope that you have your beautiful little girl as a result of IVF.. It just makes me happy to even think about it.....

Hi all! I am feeling a bit discouraged/confused. I went for my scan today and my follies are measuring 15-17 range. He said retreival would be likely saturday or sunday. With that being said...he only counted three "good ones" on the right and maybe five or six on the left side. Whereas this would normally be fine...I am doing pgd...therefore they all have to go to 5 days. I know my number is not ideal for this (he said he would like to see in the teens).

So, statistically speaking...if I am growing them to five days...how many can I expect to arrest? We are doing icsis, so does that mean they will all fertilize? Is this a better way to go when you have fewer eggs?

I am feeling a bit discouraged and confused.

If anyone has insight please post! TIA!

I can not help with the number you should have because we have not done the pgd and my doc has never talked about it so I am not positive on the # you normally need.. That being said I have heard great reports with icsi. I dont know if its for sure 100% all the time but I have seen lots of ladies get much higher results with icsi.. What did your doc suggest? Also the only thing I have seen ladies be told only a couple on the scan and at ER they end up with more (Aunty had that) keep your head up sorry I was not more help..

sorry ive been mia today... zirly hun Jackies right i was told i had 5 good follies and lots of little ones imagine my shock when we got 11 eggs.... one thing i know is that when your taking your embies to blast that providing there is no human error and your clinic have experience doing this then the ones that go to blast are going to be the best and at least you will know for sure that you have great embies inside of you. as i see it your looking at 9 eggs that are a good size thats a fantastic number to have ... i know i would love to take my embies to blast stage and if my clinic asked me i would do it in a heart beat.

Paula... i know it seems dicouraging but its in fact a really good thing it shows your clinic are keeping a close eye on you and not waiting untill your over stimmed before easing back... it means your responding even better than they thought you would, those aches too although a pain are a good sign things are going on in there..i get nausia too its all the extra hormones i hope you feel batter after your scan tomorrow so you can see whats going on.

Vickie i would freeze everything i had most of the time its the ones they say ooo dont hold out too much hope that go on to be very good little embies and strong BFP'S

Hi ladies,

I had a US and BW this morning. They said that I needed to increase my estradiol. Progesterone is fine. Today I am 4d past 5day transfer.

I have a metalic taste in my mouth. I think that is caused by hormones??!! Very bloated and have a little cramping.

How is everyone else feeling? This 2ww is killing me. Im trying to keep busy, but you know it is always on your mind.


Zirly, Good luck with PDG. I would love to have that done. I hear you get great results because the embies are the most perfect.
