Hi. I am new here and looking for a cycle buddy. I am cd7 and go in for a US on 9/4. Then we will determine when I do the ovidrel inj and go back for IUI. This is our second attempt and the RE said they only usually do 3 IUIs so I feel my clock ticking.

Hey tiff912, sounds like we're cycling together! I'll join you if you don't mind. I'm on cd6 today and trying for my 2nd IUI this month. I had my u/s yesterday on cd5. No cysts so that was good. I'm on 100mg of Clomid, days 5-9. I go in for another u/s on cd13. I'm guessing my IUI will be on cd15, based on last month. This is our last try at IUI. We'll be moving to IVF next cycle if this doesn't work.

I am so excited to finally meet someone in my situation! I go in on cd12 for US and last month I did the IUI on cd13. I am on clomid 100mg cd3-7 and ovidrel when they instruct me to. This is my first time with clomid 100mg. The past several months I was on just 50mg. I just had one good mature and an almost mature follie last month. Hopefully more this month. We will do IUI one more month with injectables if this doesn't work. I just don't know if we will be able to do IVF because of $$$$. It is $8-12000 here and my insurance doesn't cover it.

The 100mg did pretty good for me last month. I had 1 23mm and 1 21mm follie. RE was happy with that. Hopefully, you will have better luck with the higher dosage. My insurance doesn't cover the IVF procedure either. I'll be taking money out of my retirement to pay for it. I figure it will be well worth it if we get a baby out of it though.

What type of infertility issues do you have? With me, I have one ovary, 36 yrs old with a fsh of 14.2. DH has low sperm count and motility also. But we did get pregnant, naturally, 6 years ago and had our daughter. We tried for 11 years prior to her. So, I figure with the help of the RE, we should get pg alot faster than 11 years this time...

What clinic do you go to? I got to C.A.R.S. in Johnson City, TN. They seem to have good success rates.

I have severe endo. I have had seven laps so far. I also get cysts frequently. The last 2 laps we debated on whether taking out one ovary would help. So far I haven't done that. My DH also has a mildly low sperm count and low motility. I go in Little Rock, AR. It is about the only one around here but I think they have the average success rates. I have heard several good stories about them. One of the RE has been with me through most of my endo because that is one of his specialties.
Did you get one of your ovaries removed? Did you have one or two when you got pg before?

I had both of them before when I got pg with my daughter. I had my right one removed last year due to recurring cysts on it. I had one over 4cm in size and was in pain so my Gyn took it out (this was my 2nd lap). He said taking it out wouldn't effect my fertility. He said the one would make up for the other one. When he took it out, he said I had mild endo which he removed. So far, knock on wood, I haven't had anymore cysts to form.....

That is what my RE said to about the other ovary making up for the other one. However, I have recently started hurting on the other side sometimes. I have had small cysts on it before but now am reluctant to get one out b/c the good one has been acting up.

Are you taking anything besides the clomid?

No, just the clomid for now. I start using the OPK and once it is positive, I go to RE for IUI.

I have done the OPK but I am uncomfortable with them. I never know when it is real. Sometimes I can't tell if the line is just faint or if it is really positive.

Monday I go for an US then IUI. Luckily I will be on vacation part of the 2ww because it almost drove me crazy last time.

Tiffany, best of luck with your IUI. Just FYI, I'm going out of town until Monday. I'll be driving down tomorrow to face Ernesto the storm in SC. Hopefully, he will move out fast so that we can enjoy the beach. I'll check back with you on Monday. Have a good Labor Day weekend!!!

Hey Tiffany, I'm finally back. Did you have your IUI yet? I go tomorrow for my u/s. I haven't had any ovulation side pains yet so not sure when I'm going to ovulate this month.

Did you have a good time? Yes. We went for the US Monday. The RE was unsure if I had already ovulated. I had several follies but the biggest were 22 and 18. He told me to do an OPK that evening. The reference line barely showed up and my reference line was darker but not completely filled in. He did a E2, Progesterone, and LH level. My E2 was 600. I can't remeber the others. He said I probably was just about to O. So, we did the Ovidrel inj and went in Tuesday. I hope it goes well. That stupid Ovidrel makes me feel like total crap. I am so nauseated and cramping. Well, let me know how your US goes. I can't wait to hear.

Hey, had my u/s today. I had a 23mm and a 18mm follie. He gave me the hcg injection and I go tomorrow for the IUI. I hope your IUI works this time. This is my last try at IUI. I'll do the IVF next. So, the ovidrel makes you sick? This is the first time I have had the injection. I figured my side would start hurting tonight but we'll see.

I really dread it for my husband tomorrow. He works tonight then has to do his thing at the office in the morning with no sleep. Also, we didn't think we would have the iui until Friday so we bd yesterday. I hope it doesn't affect his count. How long did your RE tell your DH to abstain from bd?

Oh-good luck on your IUI. I can't wait for our results. Ovidrel may not make you sick but it can. I am severely nauseated. I have never vomited (TMI) but almost did this morning. I am also cramping really bad. I usually do because of my endo and cysts but it is real bad. That 23 sounds real good. That is wild basically we had the same size follies. I think they grow 1-2mm/day too. I think you will be ok with the bd yest. They told us to bd every other day and then at least within 2-5 days before IUI. Good luck and let me know how it goes tomorrow!!!! 1 day down in the 2ww for me.
