I underwent IVF in early July and only 2 follicles were collected and they didnt fertilie unfortunately. I had a period which started on 30th July and am now waiting for next one to arrive. I just wondered if cycles go back to normal after IVF or not and any help would be appreciated.
Sorry that your first attempt did not go so well. They will know lots about you and sure they will be able to adapt your next cycle and get better results.
I found that after my first attempt that my cycle length went from about 32 days to more like 35 days. Think that it is as the drugs are still in ours system. I did acupuncture to get me back on track and it seemed to help. I had 3 months when my cycle was longer but not seems more back to where it was before.
Think that it can really vary from person to person. Some people get quite big delays brought on by the drugs.
Hi there
Sorry your last cycle didn't go as planned.
In answer to your question, my first cycle after IVF was c. 28 days, but I didn't ovulate at all. The second was 40 days, but I did ovulate very late, the third was back to normal. Basically I think my ovaries wanted a rest and were having a little bit of time to themselves before getting back to normal. Having gone through that experience, I can now see why some clinics say wait 3 months before having another fresh cycle!!
Take care.

Sorry to hear about your cycle. Life sucks eh? I'm glad you posted the question, as i too have been looking into this and there seems to be little information about. My cycle failed in August, and my AF arrived on day 30, no-one can give a straight answer about your cycle returning to normal - different doctors have said that it can take between 3 - 6 months for the hormones to settle down. If i find anything else out, i will keep you posted
