I thought it might be neet to give a short description of how things went for you. Like how many embies transfered on what day, what did you do for bed rest and during your 2ww. Maybe we can find some corolations. :-) Big Congrats for all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got my BFP on August 14th. I responded very well to the drugs and had retrieval a few days earlier than expected. I had the bloating, tiredness, some hormonal moments and the enlarged boobs. I got 16 eggs, 11 fertilized, 6 divided but only had two on day of transfer. I did a five day transfer. My embyos were good, strong ones. We also did ICSI. I went on COMPLETE bed rest for five days (per doctors orders) and then was mobile. I went in for my test and got my BFP. I find out in a week if I am carrying one or two. That is my story, I hope that offers insight to some although I am sure everyone is different.

I had 2 grade A, day 3 embies transferred. My only bedrest was the 1/2 hour in the clinic directly following the transfer. In fact I went home and cooked a spaghetti dinner for my family of 5 shortly after. However, I didn't do any heavy lifting, exercise, or sex for the entire 2 weeks. I have actually heard that light activity betters you success rate.

I am carrying 1 lovley beanie, and as of last scan @ 7w1d, the heart rate was 136 and everything looked great!

Good luck!

This is a fun idea cowgirl, thanks for giving us a place to share!

I also responded well to stimulation - had 20 eggs, 11 fertilized, 7 made it to day 3 and we put 2 grade-A 8cell embies back. We have 5 embies frozen now... I was on 'bedrest' for the next 5 days (sat on couch, only up for potty and shower). After 2WW we got a BFP with a hCG score of 450 and they suspected twins! It was a killer waiting for the sonogram at 8 weeks. The day before the sonogram I started bleeding profusely - turned out I had a subchorionic bleed. I was sure it was all over - I've miscarried before and it was a 'been there, done that' kind of feeling. Anyway we were so delighted to see 2 sacs and good heartbeats at the sonogram - doctor ordered me back to bed to make sure the hemorrage stopped. I had 2 more big bleeds while flat on my back in bed over the next week or so but by week 10 it was more of a clot. At this point I switched from 2 PIO shots a day to 1 oral and 1 shot, then as of a few days ago I'm just on the oral - finally!!!

I had my first real visit with my regular OB yesterday and the babies are doing great Scan shows the hemorrage is resolving itself so the doctor is allowing me light activity. No lifting, exercising (not even Yoga or walking) and no heavy shopping, darn - but at least I'm able to get out of bed! I feel so blessed that we've made it this far and am doing my best to take it easy.

I wish you all the best -- can't wait to read more stories! Take care, Racquel

I had my second IVF-ICSI in August and got my BFP on 8/22 and am now waiting for my first scan on 9/6. I did not use Lupron this time and used Centrotide to prevent premature ovulation instead. I started with 225 Gonal-F and 150 of a combined FSH/LH preparation called Menopur and after 3 days went down to 150 of GOnal F and 150 of the Menopur and a few days before egg retrieval went down to only 75 Gonal F. They retrieved 23 eggs and 19 fertilized - Day 3 I still had 19 but 3 were low quality, the rest were excellent to very good with 6 to 8 cells. They transferred four grade 1 - 8 cells (due to my age, 41) and did assisted chemical hatching. They froze 12 embryos. I then started with estrogen patches, progesterone, prednisone and low dose aspirin. Bed rest for 24 hours only but I was advised to avoid any strenous exercise and rest as possible, especially because of the large number of eggs. A few days before I was due for the HCG test, which was scheduled for 11 days post-transfer I started to notice I couldn't wear any of my pants and felt sick to my stomach and with abdominal (as opposed to uterine) cramps. The day I went for my HCG I was also diagnosed with ovarian hyperstimulation and they found fluid accumulation in my abdominal cavity. This has not been fun but getting the BFP sure took some of the sting out of it! My first HCG 11 days post-transfer was 113 and 14 days post-transfer was 355. I had a miscarriage last year so am sick with worry about the scan next week but am trying to stay positive and appreciate the fact that I did get the BFP!

Hi girls,

This is my first IVF and I have PCOS so was put on very low dose stim to avoid hyperstimulation. The doctor said she'd rather stretch out the stim phase and stim dose was only increased the final 3 days of stim. We had 7 eggs retrieved in total of which 6 fertilised. 2 Grade 1 8 cell embbies were tranferred back and 2 have been frozen. I have also been having accupuncture from around 5 weeks before the ET. I had accupuncture the morning before ET and then another session straight after the ET. I don't usually feel sleepy and relaxed after accupuncture but I did the day after the ET and slept the afternoon away. The clinic had not recommended ANY bedrest at all, only no heavy lifting or pulling and to live as usual. So I've been up and about, painting the fence, shopping, going for walks etc. Had cramping and brown discharge during 2WW and was quite sure it was over so stayed in bed those 2 days. Discharge and cramp went away after 2 days and on 18/08 I was given a BFP at 317. 6 weeks scan will take place tomorrow so wish me luck :-)

Lots of love
Rittie

That's awesome Rittie, congrats!

Cowgirl, my experience was pretty similar. I used lupron for a couple of weeks then went on stims for about 12 days. I had my retrieval on the 9th of Aug. and they got 11 eggs. We were in for Male factor and used ICSI. Only 6 eggs were mature, and 3 fertilized. We decided to transfer 2 8 celled Grade 3 (4 is best) embies one day 3 after the retreival. On Aug. 26th, 14 days after transfer we got our BFP with a pretty high HGC level of 671! We went back for 2 more level checks, each 2 days apart and the level jumped to 1526 and then 3125.

I also took PIO shots up until the day after my BFP. Ironically the last injection I took was a little too low and it seems to have caused nerve damage. It has caused numbness and pain that is still here a week and a half later. Anyone else have this problem? Does it go away? I hope so! Now I am on Prometrium 3 times daily.

We are heading for our ultrasound on the 21st to see how many. I know the numbers are pretty high, so we will see! I wish my doctor did it earlier, but they wait one month after the BFP. It is really dragging!

By the way, this was our first try with IVF/ICSI. Also, I was on complete bedrest for 24 hours, then I had shower privledges and dinner table privledges for 3 days following that. I spent a lot of time on the couch! The only time I left was to got to one acupuncture treatment.

Hello,

I had a frozen day 5 transfer of two embryos on 8/7/06. I took a HPT 5 days after transfer that was positive. My first HCG test was 8/18/06 with a score of 577. My first scan was yesterday which showed I had 1 healthy baby.

My doctor told me to rest the remainder of transfer day, and that's it. He also said no sex until after the first ultra sound.
