Thanks Karen and July Ann. I pretty much knew that the breast tenderness could just be a side effect of the Progesterone, but for some reason, I had to ask. This is my first time at IVF so I am overthinking everything looking for good signs.

Yes, July Ann, wind problems over here too.

I've been meaning to ask about the pessaries. I haven't heard of those used in the US. My dh gives me progesterone shots into the muscle of my butt every morning. Are the pessaries pure Progesterone? What I have is Progesterone mixed in oil which makes it very thick so a very large needle is used. It's a little painful but I think, after what I heard, I'd rather my dh keep jabbing me in the rear than deal with those pessaries!

Hi all,
Nikola-not sure about dosage for pessaries-Im like you just do as the clinic say, 1st time using them, I think they produce the hormones that support early pregnancy & suppose cos we are not on natural cycle & have been shut down these are used instead.....
Val-i have not got sore boobs!! I wish I did as at the mo I dont seem to have any symptons but then what with side effects from pessaries etc. it could mean anything!!! I think maybe we are analysing too much..(understandable)

July Ann(too much info! is what this site is about ) I too have been getting a tad of wind but then my husband is keeping me company( hes not even taking pessaries!!) Have not had constipation yet which is weird cos I suffer with this a lot, I have gone the other way(maybe due to using tradesmans entrance)
Glad your feeling positive Karen & good luck Kat for tomororo

Take care everyone
Sarah
xx
p.s received another EMAIL from lesley will post another reply & paste what she says

[Edited by SBROWN on 17-Sep-03 13:24]

Had scan today, 6 potentials in my left ovary but the right one couldn't be found (I do have one). Have to ring hospital tomorrow to get date for next scan, which was supposed to be Saturday, as they want me to carry on with the injections to try and get my right ovary to drop so it can be found. The doc said there could be another 6 in there so I want as many as possible!

Has anyone else had any problems with ovaries hiding?

I'm a bit disappointed that I will have to sniff and inject longer, it also neans more money to buy more drugs, they didn't give me enough for spares.

Hope everyone is doing ok.
Lesley (Durham)
Hi, well I managed a bit of a lie in but not much - got up at 9.00. Am going to try to be very busy this morning so 1.00 will come quicker. I am really sneezy too -a reaction to the oxygen tube thing stuck up my nose at EC.
Re pessaries Nikola I too have 1x 400mg in the morning and one at night. Maybe its an age thing or something, I'm 38, maybe if you're younger you have more naturally or something.
Sarah I hope they find your ovary, I'm sure I remember reading a thread a long time ago where someone had the same problem so I don't think you're the only one this has happened to.
Positive vibes to everyone
Lots of love
Kat xx

You do all make me laugh!!

Its not Sarah's ovary that has gone missing - its Lesleys!! Keep up girls, the drugs going to your heads?? I'd be a bit worried if sarah suddenly had another six eggs in each ovary given she is due to test in a week! Bloody hell now that would be amazing....

Lesley - on one of my scans my ovary went walkabouts, with a lot of prodding and digging around (literally) they made it pop out from wherever it was hiding. I'm sure yours will be back in place when you have your next scan and hopefully its full of juicy eggs!

Kat - thinking of you today. Keeping my fingers crossed for at least one of those four special eggs to have done its stuff.

July ann - percy pigs are a must. My dh goes to Marks & Spencers every other day to stock up on my fix. Yesterday he came home with Percy Pigs AND FRIENDS!! How excited was I! I seriously need a glass of wine - how can I possible get so excited about percy pigs!

Well I'm putting all pains down to percy pigs and I just realised today that I haven't been to the loo for a couple of days - I guess they're making me constipated too (or it could be the pessaries!) and I have boffed occasionally whilst watching corrie - so that could be them too.

I'm going to ask the hospital why I only have 1 pessary a day. I'm only 31 so I guess, as you say Kat, it could be an age thing. I like the pessaries! I'd rather stick our little torpedo in one of the slots than a big injection in my butt - as if we've not had enough injections by this stage! All credit to you and your dh Val. OMG - can you imagine if I told my dh there was an injection alternative, he would be happy as a (percy) pig in sh!t! I think I'll keep this little US revelation to myself, otherwise I find myself on a plane to Florida for our next attempt!

I think I'm a bit loopy today!

Good luck to all.
love nikola.xx

Definitely the drugs playing tricks on me - sorry Sarah/ Lesley for getting confused! That'll teach me not to read things properly.
It is only 10.50 am and I still have to wait till 1.00. Am not doing very well at this. As well as sneezing for England, I have a pain in my right ovary area - do other people get this too? Would I know if I had a cyst? Is it just from the EC? Surely they would have found anything that was a problem at my EC? As you can see, paranoia is now setting in....
Lots of love
Kat xx

Nikola
Loppy today!!! All the time I think.....

Cheers for pointing out my ovary has not gone AWOL...

Re your pessary worry... It could be because you are doing a fresh cycle......Myself & Karen are both doing FET, I read up my notes & the pessaries keep your womb lining nice & thick, I think (I may be wrong as I deffo not a Quack-quakers maybe) if you have a fresh cycle the booster jab you have after EC thickens it up too so probably why you only need 1 pessary-in my notes from hospital it said on a fresh cycle afte ET peassaries may or may not be required.I also only had 2x400mg pessaries once a day before FET & then 2x400 twice a day after FET. Still check with the clinic though & let us all know what they say!!

Fingers crossed for fertilisation Kat & July Ann-glad theres no mention of early testing today!

Lesley-hope they find your AWOL ovary & good luck to all other SCBs
Sarah
xx

[Edited by SBROWN on 18-Sep-03 03:09]

Well I only had to wait till 11.20am - the clinic just called and all 4 eggs were suitable for icsi and 3 have fertilised!!!! ET is at noon tomorrow when 2 will go back in and the third might get frozen if it is good enough. At least it gives some leeway and I know they'll put the best 2 back in, compared to last time where they had the choice of only one, ie no choice at all. So it's looking good....
Lots of love
Kat xx

Kat that is flippin fantastic (would have used a stronger word but risk getting an ear bashing from Marcus!!) Thats brilliant news. I hope everything goes ok tomorrow for ET - will this be your first cycle where you've reached ET? Well done, you must feel so relieved!

Kat dont' worry about cysts on ovaries etc, your ovaries are bound to hurt they had great big needle in there popping follicles - its quite normal to feel some pain. perhaps the left ovary is where they retrieved the eggs from?? this could explain.

Sarah - you are correct, loopy every day, thats me!

July ann - countdown begins - only a week to go!!!

Hayley thinking of you - how did your scan go today? Hope all is ok!

how is everyone else? Jackie you've been quiet, is this because its daytime and you are like an owl and only post in the middle of the night??

love to all
nikola.xx

Hi Nikola - this will be my second ET (& 4th cycle) but last time I only got one egg (it did fertilise but decided not to stick around) so this time is much better as they have a choice of which ones to put back.
Val, we will just have to send you some if you have never had the pleasure of Percy Pigs in the US!!

Lots of love
Kat xx

Hi,
Kat - you must be over the moon with fertilisation rate - go girl! Hope et goes well!
Hayley - how's scan gone? And what was said about the blood clot - sure it was ok!
July ann - how are you doing today? In the loo every two mins checking your knickers. I've been very good this time I refuse to look and even just throw the tissue paper straight in the loo! Most unlike me! You have my sympathy having to use 2 pessaries twice aday. I'm on 400mg twice a day but have the 400mg size. This is the 1st time I've been told to lie down for half an hour after and it doies make a big difference.
Sarah - I've not known any of my friends who have had successful tmt bleed - and I didn't on my 6th attempt when I got to 10weeks!
Lesley-I too have a very shy right ovary - always causes problems!
Gail - how are you feeling? Try not to feel too guilty about being off- just think of it as you giving your little embies the best chance poss!
And Nikola - I've only one word for you - MAD!!! LOL.
Hope I've not missed anyone!
Di
Hi All, just checking in.

Welcome to Gail. I'm on FET and test on 25th. I go to my clinic for a blood test and at least that keeps me off the "wee sticks"!! I don't think I could cope if the testing was in my hands - I think I would just keep putting it off.

Kat, my ovaries have felt sore when I've had EC so I think it is pretty normal. They were both the size of oranges the last time!

I'm on 8mg progynova and 2 x 400mg pessaries per day. It has been a while since I did a "fresh" cycle but think that I had the pessaries even then. I'm also taking 1 75mb aspirin per day. I'm also directing +ve thoughts to my womb lining, and carrying crystals!!

I had another session of reflexology today. She avoided my reproductive organs and concentrated on stress relief, so here's hoping! I had a back ache and felt sick before she did the treatment and the back ache had gone by the time she finished, just feel dizzy & a bit sick now, but this is usual for me at this stage of things so I'm not reading much into it. This time around I am also managing not to poke my boobs every 5 mins which I have been doing previously to check they still hurt - mad or what!!

Still feel cream crackered most of the time so am basically lying on my bed watching daytime tv. I am managing to cook dinner now so DH not under quite so much pressure.

Must go as I've written another essay!!

Love

Karen
xx
