Question for the pregger ladies

Post by Inhale, Exhale »

Hi Girls.
I am 22 weeks and still only feeling occasional "fluttering" and movement. When do you start to feel the big stuff? More of the movement? Ouchy kicks?
Everytime I have an ultrasound or a heartbeat check the techs always tell me she moves around alot. I am measuring normally. So, not worried, just curious...
Thanks daisies!

Steph,

Be patient and enjoy each stage!!! I am 25 weeks - occasionally I get really powerful kicks and you will notice they get stronger each week - I don't believe they start to hurt until 27-30 weeks but enjoy what you are feeling now - what will be fun is looking back at the previous week to see how much stronger the kicks have gotten and how much longer the baby was active....At 22 weeks I had little kicks and usually for about 10-15 minutes at a time....Now at 25 weeks I get hiccups, kicks and this goes on for about 45 minutes at a time!!! So it will change quick???

How do you tell the difference between kicks and hiccups?? Hiccups are generally spaced very close together - I counted about 8 hiccups at a time where the kicks are more random and more all over the place...I have fun poking where he kicked me to see if he will match it again!

Actually I wanted to post the same question and here you are..I am in my 18th week and feel something occasionally which am guessing must be the baby moving....last week i was so worried since I did not feel much and kept thinking hope all is fine...and again from weekend i kind of feel them again...my next regular checkup is 2 weeks away when there will be no U/S. My next major U/S will be only in Oct 1st week. So have to wait till to see if my lil one is doing well...

Though I am trying to enjoy...small things keep me worried:)

Hi,

I just wanted to pop in and say the kicks and flutterings etc. do vary from person to person. for me i am just over 30 weeks and i can honestly say i have only ever felt karate kicks a number of times a few weeks back, there are lots of factors involved for people, eg. where their placenta is situated, if its at the front it cushions the blows. Position of the baby. Because i am overweight this also has an affect on the degree of feelings, but what i can say is that as the weeks progress whatever you feel gets that little stronger and you notice it more. I now worry if 'bubble' is having a quiet day, although this is also common.

Praying- the worrying is always with me to, and will be to the end, just to remember to stop and look at the positive as well eg. how far you have got this time, i cant believe i have even got past the 12 week mark.

good luck

love

Steph,

I got to about 20 weeks before I really felt anything that I could pinpont and say "yep - that was deffo the baby moving". Now I would describe the movements as"violent" and sometimes freaky!!!! As long as the men in white are happy then that's good news!! But all of a sudden you will feel the major stuff! And I could sit and watch my belly doing the oakey kokey for ages!!!

Enjoy!

Thanks for the posts girls!!
I know, I know... enjoy each stage! Great advice... now if only I could follow it
But seriously... how fun is this! I registered for pressies the other day for my baby shower.. talk about a rush. Something I never thought I would get to do and there I was in the store picking out strollers, car seats, the works. I still ask myself if this is really happening...
Somebody pinch me! not too hard though.. I bruise easily.

on a perma-high,
Steph
