Nance wrote:Good Morning Everyone,

Here is a question I am posing to the group. Does everyone else other than me worry about everything?
I am a pessimist and worry all the time. I'm really bad, believe me. Now I worry about outcome, about birth defects, side effects, all possible complications, etc. Plus, my dog hates little kids. So, I have to find a dog trainer to do something about it. I love my dog and cannot even think about giving it away.
I think that with what we are going through we have the right to worry :)

Now my update. I'm still waiting for AF. It turned out that what I had wasn't AF :( . I had some spotting (sorry, TMD) and thought it was a light period. The nurse told me (after doing the bloodwork, it's when they found a cyst) that I would get it within 5 days. Well, it has been 9 days aleady and still nothing. So, I'm still waiting and hopefully my cyst disappears. I'll let you know.

Great list, btw.

KF06..I too have a small dog whom i absolutely adore and i worry too what if he hates baby cos i couldnt contemplate giving him away,i saw a lady with a similar problem on Test Tube Babies and her midwives advice was wrap baby in blanket then take in home while you're still in hospital with baby and leave it lying around so dog gets used to baby scent, suppose its worth a try..

Tonia,Jeck,my friends how are you both, ive left a post for Ghost and no reply yet,so can i run something by you ladies (again!!)

I work nightshift,at one of my blood tests on my FET,the nurse couldnt draw blood, i NEVER have this problem, she said it was due to me just coming off nightshift,as it plays havoc with your system..my question is this,on all my other cycles ive taken the 2ww off work and worked right thru till ER day,im wondering di you think it would be worthwhile taking the week before ER off to give my body a chance to get back into regular mode, could this have been a contributing factor to things working out for me,or am i grasping at straws...

Sorry its all about me..Hope everyone else is REALLY well,im thinking about you all,and hoping we all have BFP's..Take care..Nicola...xxx

Nictor,
Thank you for the advice. It makes sense. I know for sure that my dog hates babies because he started barking like crazy and tried to jump on our neighbor's babies. I think my dog was abused by little kids when he was a puppy. He hates little kids. The smaller the kid, the worse it is.
Re: blood work. I read somewhere that you need to drink a lot of water 1 hour before your blood draw. If you are dehydrated, it's difficult to draw blood. It worked for me. I hope it helps.

I am happy to hear everyone is doing well. :-) Jeck thanks for the list! :-) I can't wait till we are all in the 2ww :-) Maybe we should get a Yahoo list going or something. So we can see when any of us are online to chat. :-)

I am also glad not to be alone in the worry phase :-) Like someone else said (not sure cause I had allot to catch up on) it is one hurdle after another! I just got another one. Check this out. I broke down and called the nurse today to ask about my bleeding while on the BC, she said that was normal. While I had her on the phone I asked what I could expect from there. She said if all goes well with my ultrasound. That I will start the GonalF on the 15th. 5 days after stopping my bc. Then they will ultra sound after three days and then I will get some kinda drug at some point that will supress my pituitary gland in one shot then the trigger. I know this is not exactly how it goes but it is more information than I had retrieved till this point. So I am excited. She said if all goes well my EC will be on or about the 25th.
So the moral to the story is I will start the GonalF (praying everything goes well in the US) on the 15 and will be doing 3 shots a day untill about the 25.

Also she said my husband will need to start taking antibotics. Anybody ever heard of that????? Oh and back to the kicker (I get distracted easily) my husband has to go to Africa on the 10th till the 17th. That would be no problem if he was taking a comercial flight back but he will be taking a military C5 and they are always late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My goodness now I have to worry about him being back on time! I am going to request they give him the antibotics before he leaves in case he is pushing the time frame getting home. Now I have something new to stress over!

cowgirlclass, it looks like your protocol is totally different from mine. So, I can't really comment on that. But me and my DH both will have to take antibiotics too. It's to prevent any bacteria.
Are you worried about your husband being late for the retrieval or for getting antibiotics? Ask the nurse if they can freeze your husband's sperm just in case, that way you won't have to worry about him being late. If you worry about him getting his meds ontime, just get them in advance. I worry also a lot and sometimes over nothing. I hope everything goes well. :)

Hello-

Not much to say today. I am waiting for my nurse to call me back because she called in the prescription for all my drugs 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard from the pharmacy to schedule a time to deliver.

Cowgirlclass- my husband has to take antibiotics too. I kind of wonder why though because my last doctor always asked him if he had been on any antibiotics in the last couple of months because he said that affected the quality of the sperm. But that was just for IUI's so maybe it is different for this??

It seems like every doctor has a different way of doing things which is kind of scary. I've seen where people have to go on bedrest for 3-5 days after ET, and I've read about people who just had to rest that day and go on with life as usual the next day. My doctor puts her patients on bedrest 3 days(no showering, or bathing--yuck) and then only light activity during the 2ww. I can only get up to go to the bathroom for the bedrest days. I wonder how the doctors figure out their method of treatment, and why some of them are so different?? Sorry that was so long, it is just something I think about as I am researching and reading up on IVF.

Yeah, it's kind of scary that clinics vary so much. My clinic says bedrest only the day of the transfer, light activity afterwards.

Being Late

Post by cowgirlclass »

KF I am worried about him making home in time for his contribution :-) He is due home on the 17 and if all goes well EC will happen on the 28 so that gives him 7 extra days and i am praying that is enough. The nurse called in his perscription so he will take the antiboitics with him. Our clinic doesn't do frozen sperm.

I am curious how many couples are asked to take antibotics! I think I will post a differnt thread inquireing. It seems like antibotics are rough on the system, so I am a little nurvous about that.

Good Morning Everyone,

Cowgirl: Both me and my husband have to take antibiotics. Something about making sure his sperm is clean of any bacteria. I hope this helps. I also have a book regarding IVF and it also indicates that the use of antibiotics is common in the protocol.

I hope everyone is doing well today. My DH and I are off to our class at the RE to go over our dates and instructions. Talk to you all later.

Thanks Nance :-) I am looking forward to getting my written plan on the 12. According to nurse I should be starting sims on the 15 with an estimated EC on the 25 so I am excited. This note is also a test of a ticker to the 12 :-) I just sat down and circled every little milestone. :-) Hope all goes well for you and DH at RE. :-)

Welcome Victoria :-) I entertained the idea of having a tubal reversal as I too have had my tubes tied. But after being accepted into the invertility program at our military base, it was determined IVF was our best plan. :-) Good luck in your IFV attempts :-)

Joining your group

Post by lori »

I hope it's not too late to join your group. I'm doing my 3rd IVF now (just started Lupron 2 days ago and should start stim next week). I'm doing the same protocol as last time when I was preganant with 2 (one blighted ovum, one heartbeat) and lost them at 8 weeks. It worked, but now I am scared about holding onto the pg. I found out that I have Factor V Leiden, so I am taking Heparin, but I was on this for the last cycle and still had MC. I've been seeing my RE just over a year now.

I've added yoga and accupuncture (no herbs) this time around - so we'll see if it helps.

I thought it would be nice to have an online support group for this round.
