Hi shez, i was at st marys manchester. its a long ole wait there isnt it. very good hospital and the nurss are very nice. i had my 1st icsi on the 6th of june this year. i did go for my first go in feb but i went into ohss and my treatment was cancelled and put on hold till june. it was a dissapointment cause it was the day of ec we found out.But it was worth the wait till june. It worked first time and we are expecting TWINS . just wanted to say i have every faith in st marys i think its a good hospital. i wish you the best of luck. if you have any Q's about how things work there or about treatment i will be happy to talk it all through. You will do good at st mary's

Hi Shez,

Glad you finally made it! It is a long slog, you feel like you're never gonna get there!
I hope you're not feeling too apprehensive, it's not as bad as you might think - honest
I've not had as much luck as Hayley, but she's right when she says it's a nice hospital.
We've been under st. mary's since 2002 and we've always found them ok. The nurses are all lovely and so are the drs and embryologists.
The only problem is they shut down at Christmas for a few weeks and again in August (I think it's for maintenance) and so they can't take patients during that time. It ends up with a bit of a back log! I've been caught up in it a couple of times!
They are really good at monitoring you though. Unlike some other hospitals they take bloods and do scans every day during the ovary stimulation part to keep an eye on what's happening. So you know what's happening every step of the way.
But whatever you think about starting treatment, it's NOT as bad as you think. I was terrified at first (I'm not saying you are, I'm just a softie!) but I'm just about to start my fifth cycle and I'm still going strong
We'll be kind of cycle buddies, I start down regging for FET on Sept 26.
