Hi Am totally new to this site but have been reading the sept buddies and see that you have gone for EC today, hope all went well and you have plenty!! Am in tomorrow for mine and have had to be "coasted" as have been in danger of OHSS. See you had that last time, although it doesnt read like you got as far as EC. Am worried I will get this afterwards as they have told me this is possible. Speak to you soon, and maybe we can keep each othe company during the next couple of weeks as everyone else seems further ahead! Sue xx

hiya sue just back from ec and AGAIN on the verge of ohss!!!!!

i had 27 eggs (30 last time) and i'm really tender. my ovaries have gone from the size of a grape to a grapefruit so they aren't gonna risk putting embies back so are going to freeze the whole lot until my body calms down. im really disappointed about the wait but sure this treatment is one big rollercoaster!!! hope all goes well with you tomorrow & look forward to hearing from you. love hayley

Hi Sorry to hear you cant have ET, have a feeling this might be what happens to me, will let you know! Its great to have so many eggs though,so dont get disheartned, let me know how they develop. When can you have FET? My estrogen level was still at 1380 on sat, I only had 8 days on Gonal and havent had any more since last Tues. Scanned on Fri and they were still growing of their own accord, stomach still huge too. How old are you? Im 38 so guess they didnt expect me to stimulate so well. Sue xx

Awwwww Hayley, I'm really sorry you've not got to ET mate (unless I've missed another post). I really wished I'd seen this before as one of the girls on FF swears by drinking 2-3 litres of cranberry juice a day straight after EC reduces the symptoms of OHSS so her clinic allows ET to go ahead (regardless of blood levels). Sorry the advise is a bit late, and I hope you never need it again! Feet up and chill, and as Sue says let up know how they develop - fingers still crossed for you to get lots of nice frozen embies. hayley sorry to hear about your ohss. It must be very disappointing to have to wait again. i had OHSS last time round and they put the embies back in which made it worse - I ended up very sick in hospital - so your clinic seem to be acting very responsibly which is good - at least if you have an FET cycle you won't have to do all the stimming. I am scared myself that I'm going to get OHSS again and won't get to ET but you just have to go through all the steps, don't you, and hope for the best. It's such a rollercoaster. All the best - rest up and drink masses of water. beckym xx

Hi hayley Hope you feel better soon. I too had OHSS back in June & my clinic also did not put embies back in. I am now on 2ww after having FET.......... I know a couple of people(not on this site) that had OHSS & like Beckym they too had embies put back in and ended up very poorly in hospital so although it is disappointing at the time(I was gutted) I do think its for the best..........also FET is so much less invasive. I hope I get a +ve on friday & hopefully this will give you fresh hope for when you do your FET Sarah xx p.s when will you know how many have been frozen?? fingers crossed. you have a lot of eggs so you should have a good chance [Edited by SJ BROWN on 23-Sep-03 03:33]

Poor you hayley Was thinking of you yesterday. You must be really disappointed not to get to ET again. Hopefully this time they will freeze some and you can have an FET very soon! Take care of yourself, as everyone else has said, keep drinking lots of water!! love nikola.xx

well the news i've been waiting for!!!!!!!! we've got 12 fertilised embies

we had none the last time so i am delighted. out of the 27 eggs - 20 were suitable for fertilisation and 12 are successful.. im absolutely delighted, and disappointedthat they cant do et now but as you say better been safe than sorry! thanks a million for all your replies, i've sent dh to get cranberry juice fiona ... cant do any harm!! sarah - please god you will get +++++ on friday - i'll be thinking of you. Hayley that is fab news. Did they say when you can have ET? Hopefully you won't have to wait too long. In the meantime do as Sarah says and enjoy a glass of wine - have one for me too will you, I'm gagging for one!! I test Thursday. Dh has booked a table at the restaurant of the hotel where we got married - ah bless, v.romantic and thoughtful. We decided to either celebrate or get drunk to commiserate! (well I will, he'll have to be my chauffeur!) Only 2 days left for me. I'm very chilled because (a) I don't think its worked; and (b) because I've been too busy keeping an eye on the naughty July Ann! I hope you are able to have ET very very soon. This is a really positive day for you - you have managed to get further than ever before. Next time presumably you'll have an FET like Sarah, which will be a lot easier and simpler. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you! love nikola.xx

Now Nikola - just because Helen isn't around to scold you doesn't mean you get away with any -ve thoughts! Stop that right now or I'll tell. You've only effectively got 1 more day to survive (or are you doing the 'phone back at 3pm' lark instead of a hpt?) and I'm sure your Percy Pigs can get you through that. Lots of luck love Fiona xxx

Sarah and Fiona! I'm very good at keeping everyone else going, but to be honest I'm not very hopeful this time for me. They were very poor quality embies they stuck in so it is very unlikely to work, but it doesn't matter. i'll just have a go next time!! Fiona - don't tell helen you know how excited she gets about everything!! Ii have to go into hospital in the morning and then the hospital ring me back at about 3ish. Mmmm wonder what I'll be doing all day that day! Sat on here watching all the succes stories I hope! That is what happened last time I did the tmt, there was about five of us testing at the same time and they all got pg except me! I guess its how Helen felt in August with so many +ve results. Sarah - we've only been married since 24th July this year so I guess it will wear off! We got married after our last failed cycle so I had something to take my mind of ivf!!! We have been together for 7 years and never bothered getting round to organising it. Seemed like a good thing to do! Anyway I'm fine now, I've had a sleep and feel much better. Don't be worrying about me. What is worrying is July Ann has gone very quiet this afternoon and she is left home alone with 4 hpts!!!! Only two days left - thank god all this waiting is starting to do MY head in! love nikola.xx
