Goodmorning Ladies,

How is everyone???

Kareen~~ so sweet you felt your babies move..... i havent felt any kind of sensation just yet, although i feel like i have had something happen but i always blame it on gas.. 22 weeks, will be here before you know it. Did they have you do a triple marker test???

Hayley~~ hey sweets, im sure your bump is perfect!!! you wouldnt want to be tooooo big you will be so uncomfortable with your petite frame.
Enjoy your scan on tuesday its always a blessing to see your babes. i think you will be able to determine the sex of the babies.

MY doctors appointment went well... I found out the sexes,,, we are having 2 boys and one unknown!!!!!!!! the third baby refused to open its legs and show us what they have got. I told my doctor its a proper Lady who doesnt show between the legs so easily!!!!!! he was laughing so hard, he then jokingly said i will give he/she 2 weeks to show off their stuff. I was with my father at this last scan as my DH had to work and couldnt get released from work. I think my father had never seen or imagined what an ultrasound shows.... he was dazzled, he cried and cried. I am his only daughter and this will be his first grandchildren!
My father and husband and ofcourse everyone else hopes baby number 3 is a girl. As for me it would make my life easier in a sense that i would never think about having more children if i had at least one of each sex, but honestly it makes absolutely no difference to me...I am so thankful to GOD that i was blessed with three lovely babies. Although my DH is going crazy to have a little girl.. He has always dreamth of a little girl... I hope God gives us one....

I see my doctor every 2 weeks for check ups, and for the second trimester i wanted to know what test are they conducting for you ladies.
I will have a TSH(thyroid stimulating hormone) exam done and an AFP( this checks for the neural tube defects, abdominal wall disfunction, trisomy18 and Down Syndrome) it is all done through a blood test and hopefully will be fairly easy to do. Also in about 3 weeks i will have a special ultrasound done to evalute the proper growth of each of the babies this takes about 45 minutes i was told, but they check for everything.

Ladies i miss you all sooooo much and hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. Are any of you swollen in the hands and feet? I have literally almost gotten to the point where i can hardly walk from the swelling, doctor saw it and said to stop all sodium intake and to keep feet elevated as much as possible throughout the day. I guess this wont be a problem as i start moderate bedrest next week!! how will i keep my self from going crazy?
With Gods Blessings BFP!

vita.... glad things went great with your scan.... wow two little boys.. and hopefully a wee girl...(fingers crossed).....imagine he/she keeping legs together....l'd say that is very lady-like  ....

im sure that 'gas' is your little ones moving about... though i guess they wont have too much room for dancing... :P
i got bloods taken at 12 weeks.... and scan at 14 weeks.... the next scan is the detailed 1 @ 22weeks.... i think thats to check babies for anything abnormal.... plus im due another set of bloods to be taken... at 28 weeks im booked in for the glucose tollerence test.... after that im seen every 2 weeks.......

hope everyone else is well...

Hello All

I guess I can officially join this thread now! Well some books say this is the last week of the first trimester and others say first week of second but who are we to be picky! lol

Wow I can't believe how much progress you have made, especially Vita, Kareen and Hayley (sorry I don't know the rest of you yet!), it only seems a few weeks ago you left the first tri board and so much has happened. Kareen you look fantastic, it's amazing the difference a couple of weeks can make (not that you didn't look fantastic before)!

It's great your babies are moving round so much, Hayley your story about the plate made me laugh. I can't wait to hear about your scan on Tuesday, hopefully they won't be stubborn like Vita's little one was and they can see the sex.

Vita that's fantastic, 2 boys and a ??? At least you will have lots of scans so between now and Jan/Feb you will see what the other one is. I'm swollen already, I've had to take my wedding ring off and I've only got a singleton. Lots of fluids and keep everything elevated. I recommend suspending yourself from the ceiling!! lol

Everyone keeps telling me they bet I want a boy but I don't. I really really don't mind what it is as long as it's ok. If I only wanted a particular sex then I wouldn't have a child! People really annoy me when they say that. We are hoping to find out at the next scan and to be honest I don't think I will tell anyone, well I'll tell you ladies because you're special! :D

I'm suffering at the moment, the arthritis I'm having is so painful, there are only so many paracetamol you can take. To top it all I've got a urine infection (very common with diabetes) so I've gone from weeing every hour during the night to every 20 minutes!

My little Emma is starting school tomorrow. The time goes by so quickly. She's so excited, she's been sleeping with her uniform for weeks. She also goes into her play house at the bottom of the garden every day and we have to practice me picking her up from school! It's good she wants to go.

Jodie goes into Great Ormond Street on Thursday and her operation will be on Friday so I will be away for 5-6 days. A bit of a busy week for me there.

I feel the pregnancy is in limbo at the moment. I saw my midwife at 10 weeks then I don't see my consultant until week 17. It's funny because I know from week 20 I will be going every week because of the diabetes!

I've already got the crib, pram, a big orange elephant with crinkley ears, the cot mobile (so I can play it to the baby) and a play mat. I'm not going to get anything else until I know the sex so I can colour code things. Saying that, I feel I'm cheating the baby as I haven't bought it anything - silly I know as I've still got a long way to go but once the countdown for christmas is here the time will soon fly by and the last two were 5 weeks early so I'm counting on this one to be early just so I'm ready.

I think I've gone on enough for one day!!

Hope you are all having a fantastic weekend. The weather is great here I think we are going to get the paddling pool out!

Take care

Jo

hi girls...

Post by kdc2006 »

jo... hope your feeling better soon.... you deserve a medal with everything you have to deal with.... having arthritis and diabetes is one thing but pregnant and having to look after 2 little ones must take its toll.. a holiday is what you need girl... infact why dont me and you book into a health spa for a weekend :!: (if only) best wishes for emma at school and a speedy recovery for jodi after her op.... (keep us informed)

kelly... hows you?... ive not suffered any heartburn... yet!!! i hope you find something to relieve it,.... i hear it can be quite annoying....(old wives tale...heartburn means baby's hair is growing)... i have bought a few things in... hooded bath towels,shawls,vests,bibs... bottle warmer.. moniters and steriliser unit... i will wait until after my next scan before looking at twin pushchair/stroller... i think some of 'our' family are in talks over moses baskets etc... i know its nice of them but i dont want to put anyone to any trouble... after all it will be expensive buying for 2....
the movements i feel are not really that strong...i know they are moving though ive had no kicks yet and definantly not strong movement so darren can feel...im sure he will be able to feel as the weeks go past...
the pram you describe must be a silver cross i think... they are lovely prams...'old skool'... here in the uk they can be really pricey...
i would love a pram... but its not practical with tiwns....

hope to chat soon...
bye for now..love kareenxxx

Hello Ladies:

Kareen: Thanks for the info. on the baby's first movements. I still have a few more weeks to go. I just started showing over the last week. My belly is a little rounded now. I went out and bought 1 pair of maternity jeans and some cocoa butter lotion to help avoid stretch marks, if it is possible.

Justine: A week in the south of Italy sounds wonderful! I've never been south of Florence, but I loved Italy everytime I visited. I have been thinking of DH and I taking a holiday to Hawaii, but of course it would have to be after the baby is born. Of course, I was not considering that the 9.5 hour plane ride with an infant may not be too fun.

Jo: Welcome to the 2nd trimester site! You are a trooper! I hope your arthritis gets better. Your 2 little girls sound wonderful. I can see little Emma sleeping in her uniform, so excited to start school. I have always wanted a daughter :) Since we are in the process of adopting a baby girl from China, I would be very happy to have a son now and then get my baby girl later. Of course, I would be just as happy to have a baby girl. Then I would have 2 little girls to play together.

Vita: What wonderful news of your 2 boys and your ??. Maybe she/he just wants to surprise you. I should know at my 18 week scan in 3.5 weeks. I was going to have the 2nd trimester blood test, but decided against it since our 1st trimester numbers were so good. However, I am going to have an ultrasound at 18 weeks to check for neural tube defects.

Kelley: You can actually see movement?? Wow!! How far along are you?
I keep waiting to feel movement.

Hayley: Good luck with your upcoming scan.

Take care all,
Tammy

Hey everyone,

I have a problem and I wanted to run it by you all since we are all in this together.

I have a very loving DH. We are like 2 peas in a pod we get a long great.

I have been really sexually active during this whole pregnancy ( since I got the okay after tx) But in the past 3 weeks my Dh has really not wanted to have any sex at all. He just says he isn't feeling sexy. But I have to tell you.. Its me that isn't feeling sexy... I am totally feeling like he is getting grossed out by me and my new and larger body.

I think I would feel better if he would just come out and say.. Look honey im sorry but Im really not attracted to your pregnant body. But he wont.. he says thats not the case... And he has never lied to me ever.. even when I ask the does this make me look fat question.. he is always honest to say yes it does.

I was really skinny 123 and 5ft 8 in before I got pregnant and today I weighed in at 170.5 so i really think its me.

This is the worst part.. I ambushed him at 5 am ( which is usually a great time to catch him in the mood) and he couldn't even keep an erection. I pretended that it was fine and it didn't matter.. then I rolled over and quietly cried.

What should i do.. I think if I say anything else about it the situation will just get worse...

I only have 3-4 months to go and self satisfaction is always fine... but if anyone has any ideas or anything to share please go ahead, I am feeling really depressed about all of this.

Thanks!

Danielle

Hi Danielle

I wouldn't worry about it....I am sure it is not you!! Many men get a bit weirded out by the fact that there is another human being present during intercourse. The larger the bump, the more intimidating the vision. He sounds like he doesn't really want to talk about it or maybe he just doesn't understand why he feels like he does at the moment. Try and have a chat with him about how you feel and give him as much info about the baby's development as possible....it may not seem so bad then!

Good luck to you and I hope everything works out fabulously for you both.

Oh and hello all. I used to post a bit on the other side but haven't been active for a while. Now that I have passed the amnio with flying colours (well the prelim results were great) I feel a bit more confident about this whole pregnancy thing and feel that I can post! I look forward to getting to know you all and sharing this journey with you.

Cheers

Justine:

I can't wait to feel the baby move!

We are waiting for our adoption referral from the Chinese government. We have been waiting for 3 months, but the wait is currently around 14 months and keeps growing. It looks like we will not be going to China until Fall 2007 or winter 2008. This will give me time to adjust to being a mother of one, before I become a mother of two!

Danielle:

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling blue. I'm not there yet, as I'm on my 14th week. Maybe your DH is just concerned with hurting the baby.
I had two incidents where I spotted after intercourse. My DH was upset, thinking that our lovemaking could impact my pregnancy.

Take care all,
Tammy

Hello All,

Hayley good luck for the scan today. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Danielle I'm sorry you're having a rough time. It's really hard because a lot of pregnant women get quite frisky during the second trimester! I know of a lot of men who were afraid they would hurt the baby during sex. Can you sit down and talk to him, tell him how you're feeling, maybe he doesn't realise just how much this is huring you.

Hi Tammy, I can't believe the process is so long, that's worse than IVF! I'm a very impatient person!! By the time you get your little girl your son/daughter will be a toddler so that will be nice.

How's Kareen and Vita? Hope you are both good.

Hi Heather, welcome back! Great your amnio came back clear. Did they tell you the sex?

Thanks for the warm wishes for Jodie, it's never nice when your children goes under anestetic but I know it's the beginning of a new era for her.

Emma went to school no problems (I've posted a picture on photobucket of Emma and Jodie). I nearly didn't make it. I was taken into hospital on Sunday and they wanted to keep me in, I begged them to let me out. The first day of school isn't a day you can ever get back! They let me out on the condition that I will see my midwife asap so I have an appointment tomorrow.

I'm still feeling rough, I now have a tummy bug, as if I'm not in enough pain! Just waiting to get thrush from the antibiotics as that's bound to come next!! lol but I don't care about it all now, I'm thinking get it all out the way now then I'm going to have no problems at all later on in my pregnancy!

Best go as I have to do the school run!! ha ha

Hope you have a great day, it's really miserable here, yesterday was beautiful and today's it's pouring down :(

Take care

Jo

Today I've had definate confirmation that I'm pregnant. I stood by the toaster for 10 minutes with my butter knife in my hand waiting for the toast to pop up only to discover that I'd forgotten to put the bread in! I also put the milk back in the dishwasher rather than the fridge!

Is anyone else doing silly things??

Hello Pregnant Ladies

Some of you will remember me posting before I disappeared off the boards. First I was away on holidays and lately it's been really hard to be at the computer for any length of time at night (I don't log on at work).
Now I'm trying to make a slow come-back.

Danielle - I'm sure it's not you. I went through something similar so I understand. Sometimes our DH's start to see us us mothers, and to feel uncomfortable with the fact that their child is present at those intimate moments. Give him some time, and try to talk calmly about it when you feel able.

Hi to everyone else. Have a lovely week!
