Hi Justine,
My little girl Hannah arrived 2 weeks early, but she wasn't small (weighed in at 8 lbs. 10 oz.). Personally ... I was happy she came earlier (could have ended up weighing 10 lbs.).

It will be interesting to hear from others.

Good luck with #2 =)

Hiya,
My daughter Kady was 11 days overdue and after being induced, put on that horrible drip and labouring for 12 hours she still wasn't ready to come out so i ended up having a c-section. She weighed 8lb 6oz.
Take care,
Lotsa love

Hi,
I had to laugh when I read this. It is so not true for me!
My DD was 2 weeks late and weighed 8 lb 7 oz (natural delivery)
My DS was 2 weeks late and weighed 11 lb 7 oz !! (emergency section due to babies size)
I went into labour naturally both times on the day i was to be induced.
I've been told if i have any more i would have to have a section 3 weeks early as the more babies you have the bigger they get!

Hi
I was 2 weeks late and jake weighed 6lb 6oz, I would have preferred him to be early cos waiting was a nightmare but if he had come early he would have been tiny. Had him naturally on the day I was due to be induced, had a long labour.

Hi Justine

I hope they don't come earlier, I was induced with Emma (who's now 4) 5 weeks early, she was lying on a nerve and I was unable to move and I was so big, she was 9lb 1oz, although a natural delivery she had shoulder dystocia. They said the rate Emma was growing she would have been over a stone at full term (that's 14lb for our American friends!)

With Jodie (who's now 3) I went into labour 5 weeks early. She was an emergency elective section and weighed 7lb 12oz.

This one is IVF and I hope they don't come early! I want to make it to term (37 weeks). I'm diabetic so know they tend to be on the larger size. They have already agreed to another section!

Best of luck with number 2

Jo

Justine,

I see you're due around the same time as me - hope things are going fine...

Sam was born 7 weeks early - 4lb 7oz. They kept asking me if I had me dates right as he was such a good size and wonder now what he would have been like if he'd gone to term. I think he was just ready - and saying that, my mum was 6 weeks early with all 3 of her pregnancies.

I had convenced myself that I'd be late this time, but we had a bit of a scare this week and now I'm not so sure. I'd be happy to eat my words though...

Have just watched 'Miracle on 34th Street' and got very emotional thinking about Christmas this year...

Take care

Hi - Emily was nearly 2 weeks late and took 3 days to come after induction! She was 8lb 12oz. So I don't agree with the earlier, smaller babies suggestion. Good luck with yuor delivery - hope he comes just when you want him to. Enjoy Christmas everyone - its goiing to be so special to share Christmas with our little girl for the first time.

Yes I can understand that and it will be lovely to give her that special time before the new arrival but as you say, whenever he comes will be great. Good luck with it all - such an exciting time for you - enjoy and savour it all

Hi Justine,
I had our daughter Meagan at almost 41 weeks. I went into Labor on my own and had my water broken at 6cm dilated and she came about 2 hours later. She weighed 7 lbs 11oz and measured 20 inches. She was a good size and very healthy. We will be trying IVF again in the next couple of months for #2. Good luck to you with this next one! Take Care!
