Hi, my name is Rhonda. Twenty years ago I had a tubal ligation. I did it because I had been diagnosed bipolar, a condition with a high instance of heredity. I almost certainly got it from my father and have suffered greatly over the years. I'm 38 now and the treatment of bipolar disorder has changed dramatically. It is more easily detected and there are hundreds of medications available, making it easier to find the right one for each person affected.
I'm also in a good place, married to a wonderful man and finally getting to a semblance of financial stability. Neither one of us wanted children until now, but we can't! I sometimes wonder if I should accept my self-determined fate. I'm not against adopting but would like to have a baby myself if possible. Cost is a factor, of course, and we're not making any hasty decisions.
It's nice to have found this site and hopefully to be able to gain some insight from others facing infertility.
