Hi,
We are looking at FET this next cycle. i am wondreing if anyone can give me info on how it is done. Other than what you take right before/during/after the transfer, are there any other meds involved/ In general how much monitoring do they do? I plan to call the clinic tomorrow/.
Hi
I just had first FET i didn't have any medication to take at all i was given 2 blood tests to check when my surge was and then the embryos were thawed the day before transfer now it is just a case of waiting to see if it has worked hope this helps although might be different with different hospitals mine was in The Glasgow Royal. Good luck

My last attempt was FET...It is much easier then the IVF because most of the work is already done!
I only had to take Decapeptyl shot on the 21st day of my cycle and then at my second cycle I had the transfer, though I had to take Hormone patches (progesterone), and after the transfer I had the oil shots (Proluton Depot) and pills (Duphaston)....and that was it! No pain no nothing!
However I am sure the medicine will varry woth you because I did it in Lebanon ... completely different medications..however I think same concept!
Hi - the FET is much easier and shorter than IVF! For me I called in when my period started, they put me on 6 days worth of chlomid (jump start ovulation) I didn't have an appointment until 2 wks later -ultra sound and blood. Follicles grew/growing well-progestrone shots and Medrol pills started. Less than a week later another ultra sound and blood then was told when to take HCG shot -went in for transfer (NO PAIN) still do progestrone shots and start Estrace pills. Definately not as lengthy or complicated like IVF and again did I mention NO PAIN LOL
My procedure was a "medicated FET" some woman have no meds at all depends on your ovaualtion history.
I had a FET on 4 August (my fresh IVF didn't work). Doctor transfered 3 embryos and it worked! I have only 1 which worked. I am currently on Progesterone shots, Estrace and Promertium pills for almost now 6 weeks. I am very happy that it worked for me, but also very concerned about taking all these medications during pregnancy (I read about them and they all say that "must not take during pregnancy, as it increases the risk of birth defects). My husband thinks I am over reacting, but I just can't stop thinking about it.
Hi Deepa100- My Dr. before my IVF cycles put me on birth control aswell and at the time I was confused like you. She said it's another way of regulating your hormones and to calculate ovulation. It may take a little longer but it too still works. In fact for this past FET I thought I was going on it and they changed it up last minute so both do work.
