headaches?

Post by cbaker111 »

Hi -
Has anyone else been experiencing headaches? I was prepared for stomach upset (I have had only very mild queasiness) but had never heard anything about headaches during pregnancy. I am not prone to them normally and have kind of an on-going, nagging headache. Is this normal? Pregancy-related? Anything to worry about?
Thanks,
Claudia

Hi Claudia

Headaches are very common during pregnancy. The only time you need to worry is if you are in the third trimester as it could be a sign of pre-eclampsia. Paracetamol is safe to take during pregnancy.

I too am experiencing really bad headaches. I've never suffered from them in my other pregnancies but these really take my breath away.

I hope everything else is ok.

Take care

Jo

I had really bad headaches for months. Paracetamol didn't touch them. Ice packs helped a bit. Can you get '4head' where you live, something you rub across your forehead from the chemist. that helped a bit.
the way I got rid of them was acupuncture. I swear by it!

Headaches are totally normal during pregnancy. I had some real doozies!....serioulsy had me in bed most of the day. They are usually caused by the extra blood flow pumping through your body and possibly your sinuses being inflammed/irrirated. I stayed away from any medicine but doc recommended steaming chamomile tea in a bowl with a towel over my head..really works!! Also try rubbing vaseline on the inside of your nose..this was my god-send and got me moving again...I swear by it. Hang in there...the headaches will go away :D
