Twin boys one with clubfeet??

Post by kathya »

Hi Ladies,
I'm 23 weeks along and just came back from the structural ultrasound, and the doctor said that baby A had "club feet". I looked it up on the march of dimes web site, but am still really worried. What could this mean for baby B? Is it something I did? Could there be a neurological problems? The doctor said its not something you should "freak out" about, and it can be corrected............... but I'm very freaked out!! After 16 years of trying to get pregnant, to finally succeed and know there is something wrong with one of your babies........ Anyone out there have any similar experiences, if so what did you do?
Thanks,
Kathya

The 2 year old that lives across the street from me has clubbed feet. He started walking around 10 months like all normal little boys, now he runs. As he has gotten older his legs have straightened out and he might not even need leg braces.

I wish you could see him, you would feel so much better.

Good luck to you.

My son has club feet but his are more severe than most. If I have another child with clubfeet, I will not worry. He is 2 and walking fine. He did have 2 surgeries though. He still wears braces part of the day. Honestly, club feet is not the worst thing to have in the world. My son's cousin has them too on my husband's side. It's usually more common in boys than girls. It's great that you know now and can get early intervention to correct them. Do not worry. Mia Hamm, the olympic soccer champ, also had club feet as a child. Hmmm, you can't be more successful than that. Good luck.

A friend's 2 year old son has club feet and to the world at large he looks and behaves like a standard noisy, active little boy. He wears leg-braces at night in bed but not during the day.

Good luck with your pregnancy
