Hey lady's..
Angela sweetie please try to stop thinking that because your working so hard its bad for your embies i think the truth is we take it too easy ..think of all the good blood flow you have going to your littleones....also remeber my friend i told you about "it hasnt worked" lady...well she did 6 iuis and 1 failed ivf on all of those she took off work feet up kinda thing for her last one...because "it wasnt going to work anyway" she caried on as normal she works in a high risk medical ward doing all the stuff she shouldnt do...like i say she has twin girls.....i think when its the right embies they couldnt care less what your doing there home all warm and comfy

Vickie Becky im so pleased to hear your looking forward
Vickie i would really look into changing clinic ...my clinic only has a 49% sucess rate but what that doesnt tell you is they treat everyone even people turned away by other clinics and im happy with them ...its a lot of money so you really do have to be happy they are the best for you...
Becky i too would ask lots of questions...when your ready if you want me to i have so many surgestions for you...let me know...
big hug for you all...Aunty

ps angela im sorry i made you cry Image

Hi Ladies.

Vickie and Becky...my heart continues to break for you both.

Vickie...regarding changing clinics...I say YES! And I don't say that lightly. My brother in law (my dh's brother and wife) failed 3 (THREE) IVF cycles. They finally switched clinics and BAM...preggo with twin boy/girl who are perfect and healthy and seven years old!!!

The numbers you quoted from your clinics success seem a bit low to me.

I have learned from my clinic why their success is sooooo high (even though they totally screwed up my emby biopsy).

They beleive it is not only in the staff...but all types of stuff...Med choice, time to stim, follow up meds after transfer (I wear two patches and take a shot of progesterone every night). Antibiotic use, Acupuncture before and after transfer in the office, 48 hours mandatory bedrest etc, not to mention the most important was the skill of the embryologist).

I tell you these thngs cause I really think each clinic is different and that is why you see such different success rates.

Keep your chin up. Maybe switching clinics will give you a fresh start, new hopes, and just that little change that your body may need to get this to work.

Thinking of you...

As for me...PMA way up today. Feeling good.

Morning ladies..

Just a quick one from me. Just got back from my scan and have 7 follies on right ovary ranging from 10-15mm and 3 on the left 10-11mm with a 4th looking smaller. Dr thinks may be a late contender. Depending on what BT says today possible trigger on Monday with EC Wednesday....YAY

Sorry no time for personals have to dash out but am thinking of you all and will check back in later.

Ange x

Hello everyone. I've been reading on this forum - but never posted. This is my first IVF try and I am on my 2ww. I read all the 'September' girls and I hope and pray for all of you. My pregnancy test is September 25th - it can't come soon enough....

Trying to stay strong and hope for the best.

Basically, I'm feeling a bit stressed out today and finally opted to type a message to everyone....

preg test on Sept 20th after 1st IVF

Post by sadmommy »

Hello Ladies!

I started my cycle on 8/10. This has been the longest time of my life. I had 32 follicles removed 21 becames usable eggs - not sure if thisis the right terminology. I had a blasto on Monday with AA eggs.

I know everything went well, but I am nervous. Sorry to burden you guys with my problems. Today, I cried for the first time. I feel as if it will never happen!

Thanks for listening.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Debz!

Yes, please add me to the list!!!

Just to give you a lowdown of what I've been through - I had 33 eggs retrieved. 31 being mature. 14 fertilized. My doctor wanted to go to the day 5 'blasto' stage - so we did. We had 7 left, all of 'good' quality (at least, that's what he is saying - grade 1s and maybe a grade 2). I called the lab and they are calling me tomorrow with more definitive answers. The two I had transferred back were grade 1 embryos.

To answer your question....symptoms. Geeze...my stomach is very 'tight'. I can't explain it any other way. I thought the 'full' feeling would go away, after the retrieval, but it's back:-/ I do get a little crampy too. AND, my breasts are sore (not painfully...). So, are those 'symptoms'? I definitely do not feel like myself - but I'm not sure if everything I just said to you has to do with the progesterone in oil shots I take every night. I also have to take Delestrogen shots every Wed/Sat - so that's TWO IM shots on those evenings....the joy of it all!

Sept. 25th is going to take forever to get here................ I wanted to take a pregnancy test earlier than that - since I've been reading and 'they say' that you can take a pregnancy test on day 9 of your transfer 'if' you transferred back a day 5 embryo. Any truth to that? I'm asking b/c I was going away on a business trip the weekend before and really wanted to know before that. Called the doc, to see if I could get a test earlier - say no-can-do:-( Said the test would not read positive. I train/compete/show dogs for a living - so the trip I have to go on, is with 7 dogs I'm showing. It would have been nice to know if I need to still take it 'easy' or if it's negative, then I can resume as normal (I think being busy with the show would help me get through the weekend also).

Ah, I'm probably just being too impatient and need to just wait.....

Hi Dar! Welcome! I have to say that your situation sounds soooooooo promising. I, too, have day 5 blast in me (just one) and it was a grade 5bb (not as good as yours).

Here's the scoop on testing. I have read a zillion websites on when we can expect to see a positive on a pregnancy test...and although a negative would NOT mean you are out...one woman with day five blasts got positives as early as 4dp5dt (the earliest I found...AND I SEARCHED). A couple I found got one on 5dp5dt. Several saw one on 6dp5dt. and so on. They used super sensitive tests such as first response early pregnancy test, or answer early.

Go on the website peeonastick.com to learn about different tests and their sensitivity/reliability.

I will warn you...if you pee on a stick this early...you would only see the faintest of faint, shaddow of a line that you likely would have to hold up to a halogen light to see (no joke). Do not expect to see a strong positive this early.

And like I said..if you do not see a positive that early...it does NOT mean you are out of the game. Some women build up HCG slower than others...and also...I have read more than once that with twins...even though you would think you would see a darker line...sometimes the twin thing can throw off the hcg and you may not get the right kind of reading right away. Just FYI. It is a ticky thing peeing on sticks. I should know...I am an addict. truly.

Welcome again and GOOD LUCK!

p.s. I love dogs. What kind do you show.
