*NEW* 1st Trimester Bump Buddies

Post by Lucyluna »

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to see about starting a new thread for those of us in our first trimester. The other thread seems to be rather larger and most of the ladies are transitioning into the 2nd trimester. I know I would love to meet some of you in your 1st trimester. This is a time full of questions and excitement and we could use one another!

I am in my 7th week and am going to get my first scan one week from today (Thurs. the 21st.). I am SO excited. We had rather high HCG levels and I can't wait to find out if I am planning for one or 2 babies! How about the rest of you?

I see, thanks for letting me know. It seems too large to me and as if it is full of 2nd trimester gals. Us newbies get lost in there and I just thought maybe something smaller would help us. I was thinking if people wanted to look at the old thread for old advice they could still do that since it doesn't go away. This one is so big no one can find anything in it!

Thanks again, I will be sure to check in with the massive existing thread and see if I can meet anyone in their 1st trimester. And congrats on your BFP too! I will be sure to keep you posted on my scan :)

Lucyluna,

Well, I think this is a great idea! I am right there with you, 7 weeks 1 day. I had my first u/s last week and we saw two sacs, two heartbeats! I'm having a follow up u/s on Monday and praying that everything remains the same, only bigger.
My pants are already too tight which I find very strange. I have a 10 year old DD so I guess the fact that this is not my first pregnancy in conjunction with having twins on the inside is working against me already, but of course I don't mind.
Best wishes with your u/s next week and I hope you get what you want...whatever that is (1, 2, 3...)

Take care,
Dione

Tonia, thanks so much for the well wishes. I'm glad to see that you are near ready to have another go at it. A fall conception...how great (although you'll be big, sweaty, and pregnant all summer as I was with my DD0 :)
Doesn't matter, does it. We'll take anything once we get to this point!

Thanks for touching bases. I'll be watching you!

Dione, congratulations! Two babies?! Does that scare you like crazy? I can't decide what I want to see at the scan. Really I just want to see that everything is ok, the number of babies is a bonus. We will be happy no matter what. Two is frightening finacially, especially after having to pay so much to get pregnant (we are still paying). But a big family right away sounds fun!

Please do keep us posted on the next scan, ok? Oh, and my pants are already tight too. It is crazy to feel since this is my first. So many of my friends didn't have tight pants until the second trimester. I guess all pregnancies are different!

hello there...i like this new post.

I too, sometimes feel lost in some of the big threads!

I had an u/s done on 9/5 that confirmed twins! yeah! After some scary bleeding last weekend, I had another u/s done on 9/10 confirming both heartbeats yippie! One at 112 and the other at 122. It has been a scary ride just because of all of the spotting/bleeding, which everyone keeps saying is normal. We have our final u/s on Monday 9/18 with our RE. They will then release me to a OB gyn. I live in a very small city. I think my RE will refer to us to a high risk doctor there. I am also diabetic. It is exciting....but scary. Here it is................everything I have been yearning for. Life is good...just trying to relax (mentally) :_0 good luck to everyone!

Lucyluna, I am learning that I am very fortunate as insurance covered just about all of my IVF treatment (except for the copays which were minor). It was a blessing for sure and my heart goes out to those who had to pay out of pocket AND pay for a baby!
Michelle, bleeding...you know, I haven't had one single drop, not even after the transfer but in my readings on this board, it is very common. Thank goodness both your babies are doing well.
If I am not mistaken, all three of us are exactly the same, 7 weeks 2 days today. This should be fun!
I have already had my first OB appointment even though I have to have antoher u/s with the fertility clinic on Monday. Twins...my OB didn't want me to wait any longer.
I think I'll do a little 'bigger clothes' shopping this weekend. The weather is changing fast and I can't fit anything from last month, let alone last winter. This is going to be an interesting journey!

Take care,
Dione

Michelle, I haven't had any bleeding either but it sounds like it is common. How exciting for you with twins!

Both Michelle and Dione, what were your HCG levels when you had your tests done? Dione, I saw you have yours in your signature, but how long did you go in between? I know that it can go with way and numbers don't always tell, but it is interesting to know. My first test was 14 days after day 3 transfer. It was 671! We had two more, at 16 days (1526) and 18 days (3125 I think). My clinic won't do a scan for 4 weeks post positive test.

It is nice to have found some ladies who are the exact amount of days pregnant as me. Thanks for responding ladies!

Hi - I'd love to have some buddies to go through these next few months with!
I am in my 7th week and have an ultrasound next week - I had one last week at 6W1D and we were able to see a heartbeat at 124 and I was extremely happy. I am still really anxious though since I had a miscarriage the end of last year (blighted ovum) and am also 41 years old. The first thing the MD said to me after seeing the hearbeat was "well, that's one hurdle, but given your age you are still at elevated risk for a miscarriage." Wish he could have been just a LITTLE more positive.
I am constantly analyzing my level of boob soreness, perceived queasiness or other pregnancy signs...fortunately I seem to have a lot more of them than I did with the miscarriage last year. BUt I also wonder whether the progesterone suppositories and estrogen patches could be causing the soreness, headaches, gas etc...Are any of you guys using progesterone supps or estrogen patches?
Michelle - great to hear that everything is proceeding normally and that you have two little ones in there. How is your anxiety level?
Well, I have kind of a grose question - I was walking home from dinner last night and burped and all of a sudden my mouth was full of vomit! On a street corner in midtown Manhattan! How embarassing! Has anyone else ever had anything like that or heard of such a thing? I wasn't even feeling nauseated so I thought it was doubly weird. My zipper also exploded at dinner, which seems odd so early but I also had moderate OHSS with fluid accumulation in my abdomen so maybe that is to blame.
Well, thanks for starting this new thread and good luck to everyone!

Hi LucyLuna,
I found this really good message board which has a lot of info about beta numbers:

http://groups.msn.com/HCGFacts/messages.msnw

and also this website:

http://www.betabase.info/

There is some useful info on there!
Best wishes,

Thanks Mazy, I have been to beatbase, but I will check out the other. I just like to hear other people's numbers. It is so interesting to me how we can all be doing the same thing but have completely different experiences.

Hey everyone... :D

Lucyluna.....my hcg levels were 216 (9days post 5dt)....489 (11 days post 5dt.....and 5139 (16days post 5dt) We did do a beta level on 9/10 while we were at the hospital and it was 31,275 (20dpt) ....44394 (22dpt)

Normally, my RE does not do anymore hcg levels after 11dpt if the levels have doubled. Because of my spotting, and to keep me sane, we did extra.

Over the past four days or so my nausea has kicked in. I have never gotten sick...just the sick feeling. I keep crackers on hand at all times.

Claudia...I too had the gross taste after burping....but it was after I ate something that didn't agree with me . I was thinking it was heartburn. But who knows!

Hope everyone is doing well. Tomorrow is the final day at RE. Wish me luck! I finally broke down and called a couple of my close friends and told them the news. It felt so good! It has been hard keeping everything a secret.
