Just tried to use the chat forum for the first time, posted a couple of questions but couldn't see anything from anyone else altho there was meant to be about 13 people logged on? Am I completely stupid, is there something that I'm not doing? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm currently on the 2ww, test on 1 October so like most of you I'm analysing every twinge, bit of backache in the mornings and just the one sore boob? I'm coping with the pessaries as much as you can, I asked about lying down afterwards and was told that it doesn't make any difference? Its amazing reading thru the previous threads the different advice given at clinics, all I was advised not to do was swimming or anything too energetic?

I'm trying not to be too optomistic but at the same time its difficult, I want to be prepared if it doesn't work out but at the same time I think I'm scared either way. Probably not making much sense, I shall blame that on the hormones - a useful scape goat! I don't really know what happens if you get a -ive, how soon you have to go back again and what follow up they do? Not exactly best timing, but I'm going on holiday 2 days after I test. My bruv is getting engaged to a Polish girl and the whole family is going to Poland for the party. I'm finding it hard to be excited about it all, things are all in limbo at the moment and I haven't even thought about packing?

Sorry for going on this was meant to be a simple question about the chat room.

Trying to adopt a pma!
Love
Claire
-x-
Hi July Ann,

Thanks for that, I think sometimes we just need to know that someone else feels the same way. Friends and family are understanding but I don't think you can really appreciate what's happening unless you've gone thru this whole roller coaster.

Still trying to remain +ive and not eat too much!

Love,

Claire
-x-

[Edited by Claire C on 22-Sep-03 13:11]

hi claire

I'm also on 2ww and test on thursday. I tried to get in the chat room but apparently since the hackers crashed the site the chat room isn't working - it says there are lots of people in there but really there isn't. I guess they are trying to sort it out.

Without meaning to throw a spanner into the works, but if you are pg, does this mean you will miss your brothers wedding? I dont' think you are allowed to fly for the first 12 weeks. Dh and I have our honeymoon on hold at the moment because depending on the result on thursday, we might have to delay it for a while!!

I guess its a small sacrafice for something we all want so badly!

love nikola.xx

Hi Nikola,

I really don't know about the flying - no one has said anything about it? I had just assumed that either way it wouldn't be a problem. I will wait and see what happens, as you say its a small price to pay.

It is his engagement but it would appear in Poland that this is a really big deal with speeches etc, unlike here where we'd probably have a buffet and a disco.

Good luck with your test, how has the 2ww been for you? I had et on 19th September so I am probably just at the implantation stage - fingers crossed. No af feelings as yet but closer to the weekend I will be more anxious, when I had iui I never made it longer than 10 days before af arrived. Hopefully this time it will be different.

Thanks for the info on the chat room , its not just me then!

Best wishes,

Claire
-x-

hi claire

An engagement party in poland sounds like fun!!!

This 2ww seems a lot longer than the last one. Although I don't have particularly high hopes for this go, so I'm not climbing the walls to find out the result (unlike some!) I'm quite happy in blissful ignorance that right now I could be pg!

I've had all kinds of aches and pains. I'm huge and none of my clothes fit! I guess I'll be glad to find out one way or the other. If its not worked then its straight off to the gym for me!

Good luck with your 2ww and result.

love nikola.xx

Hi Wibbs

This is fab news about the flying it means even if I'm pg I can still go on my honeymoon - yippee. I know this is traditionally a bit backward, but I don't suppose us IVFers get to do anything 'normally'!!

I test Thursday, I have to go and do a blood test at the hospital in the morning and then they phone me back in the afternoon. So tomorrow during the day I will be pacing around like a nutter! (More so than normal!!).

I suspect my dogs will get a longer walk than normal, anything to keep me occupied!!

When do you test?

love nikola.xx

Wibbs/Nikola,

That's good news about flying, I really don't want to miss the party - I've bought a lovely new dress etc.!

I've just realised that you must be 'percy pigs' Nikola - I've read your posts on other threads. I have to say that I don't have a sweet tooth but dh likes the percy pigs, it seems as tho' they are world famous now! M&S should give you a commission!

I went back to work today which wasn't as bad as I expected, I have told them what's going on, so everyone is very supportive. I only have one more day this week and then off fri & the w'end so its not too bad.

How are you both bearing up with the 2ww? I know that you test tommorrow Nikola so good luck for that. It is encouraging that there seem to have been a lot of +ives recently - good sign I hope,

Best wishes,

Claire
-x-
