Hi Louise,
I've had 6 tmt's at Edinburgh - but since they moved to Little France.
I found the staff really helpful and supportive but I know there's been a few changes. Heidi, Christine and Kareen were all really good so look out for them!
Whereabouts are you with tmt?
If there's any more you want to ask - please do!
Di

Hi Louise,
Me too. I had 3 IVF cycles at Edinburgh, all at Little France, and Di is right, the staff are fantastic, especially the nurses. We've had all the problems going and not once have they failed us in terms of help and reassurance - even when they didn't have to.
Like Di, any questions, please ask!
Zoe x

[Edited by Zed2003 on 18-Sep-03 10:00]

Hi Louise,
Congratulations! You must be over the moon but also quite uptight!
I was attending the Edinburgh unit from 1996-2001 - so our paths might have crossed! I also ran the support group at Livingston for 4 years!
At the mo I'm over the 2 ww but still waiting for news - I send a urine sample to The Park in Nottingham tomorrow and will hopefully have results back on Tues! Ususally by now I've bled if it hasn't worked (except 6th tmt when I got to 10 weeks). So I'm trying to stay positive!
Di

Hey Louise,
Tranent - what more can be said?!
Glad you are doing so well - great news about Di eh?
Hey, have to ask - are you getting the scan because you are having twins? When I met the midwife for the first time on Monday (phew, baby still there, haematoma gone, so don't know what the bleeding is) she thought it was bad I wasn't entitled to one - from a psychological point of view more than anything...ahhh well.
take care anyway - not long until you see them again - bet you're excited!!!
Zoe x

Good luck i will look out for your post, any questions you have just ask!!!

Hi zed

God Tranent not far, we should meet up sometime if you want? Do you drink in Tranent? That is where ma brother drinks and spends most off his time!! Great news about Di. Everyone gets a 20weeks scan, you should aswell as the 20weeks scan is your detailed scan - How far on are you? Cant wait for other scan and see them again, i will get more scans with it being twins but those come afer the 20week one!!!

Love Louise x

Not in Lothian Louise. You only get a 20wk scan if they suspect something is wrong, if you're diabetic, twins, drug abuse case etc. Midwife had a look on Monday to see if she could fit me into one of the categories but she couldn't. We're doing the Downs blood test in a couple of weeks and she said that women who bleed in early pregnancy often come back with a 'high risk' result and if so, then we'd be offered a detailed scan - I wouldn't do amnio. If she can't wangle one for us, we've decided to pay for one privately, not really to check if things are wrong, but really to see that wee heartbeat. We've had so much care between IVF clinic & EPU (5 scans already!!) that to go for so long with little contact is already mentally stressing me out.
Drink! - What's that? Been so long, can't remember...Thought people down your way didn't venture North!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) (We've only been here 3 years)

Zoe x
P.S. I'm 14 weeks today
