Hello - 1st time here, feeling scared

Post by januska »

Hello!

I've only just found this website and was reading some messages - it's so helpful!

I've had my first IVF (BFN Jul-06) and am DR at the moment. On top of that we've recently moved a house and I've lost my job that I've loved for the last 9 years. I have a new job at the moment but it's NOTHING like the old one, it's much less busy, so much time on my hand... Not too sure if it's good or bad as before I've had no time to think about the timing of IVF, the next steps etc etc. while now that seems to be all I'm doing (hence why I've joined this board)

Anyway - just wanted to say hello to everybody and to find out if anybody's out there that is in the same stage as me

Wishing you all the best and huge amount of baby dust!

Hi there

Don't be scared you have come to the right place for all the help and support you need and if you have time on your hands you will probably become a fulltime member of this board, it is so addictive! The ladies here are fantastic and you couldn't be in better hands.

Lots of hugs and good luck with your treatment

Hi Haylie,

Thank you very much for this reply! This place is really great, I've been looking around and it is amazing at all the support that is offered to everybody and by everybody!

I've noticed on another thread that you're starting your Menopur on 12th this means that you're probably (hopefully) not too far ahead of me. I've got my DR scan on 13th - last time they've asked me to start Menopur the next day. Hopefully it will be the same this time round... :D :D

Isn't it amazing how long each day takes when you're going through this treatment? :o

Lot of hugs and all the best

Hi Januska

Welcome to this site...I've only joined last week and so far it's so pleasant and reassuring because I've always thought I am the only one out there but the ladies are so supportive and informative!!!

Glad you joined!

My last IVF was July06, it was also a BFN...I wanted to stop and take a long break but my Dr advised me to resume in November...I am not sure of exact dates yet...

As for the extra time for you, I suggest you relax and enjoy it! because the stress is not good for us...So maybe you can do some readings or something else that you've always wanted to do but didn't have the time...I think you should pamper yourself because we do deserve it after all these injections we are taking and the hormones battle taking place inside us!!!

Good luck for this cycle and I hope you will get a BFP this time!

Hi There,

Well its my first time on this site and I am hoping that this may help me through my first time for IVF.

So I will introduce myself as a 40 year old woman who found out a few months ago that I had a 1% chance of having my own baby.

After watching 2 of my friends have healthy beautiful babies last year both 40 I should state it came as a bit of a shock.

Now I know that I left it late and as many woman now work took over and knew that it maybe a little harder to conceive but never did I think that the choice would be taken from me.

I was told that I had high FSH of which I didnt even know what it meant until this point and that I have gone into pre- menopause, but that happens when your in your late forties I heard myself say but unfortunetly it came early for me. I was told that IVF would not work and would be a waste of money and that egg donation was an option. Oh by the way I was told this information over the phone by a private specialist- sensitive eh.

I went away and and didnt surfice for 3 days I was devastated. My husband was fantastic and told me that I should not give up as long as there was a chance we needed to get a second opinion, and so we did.

I was told that IVF would give me a 10% chance and so we have decided to try.

So I have started the Pill but I have never been so scared in all my life, I have some many different emotions going on inside my head that Im sure my husband thinks Im going mad.

I am hoping that this site will help me address my worries and maybe realise that this is all normal.

Looking forward to speaking with you all.

Hi girls!

Patie - sorry to hear about your BFN in July but they say if you fail, keep trying! So I wish you all the best, good luck and huge amount of baby dust for your next try in November! Hopefully we both will be luck and it will work for us on the second round

Charlton - what a wonderful husband you have! He's completely right - you must keep trying and believing and it will happen one day! :!:
But I must say - be prepared for the fun of hormones in your body - they really rule and do lot of wonderful things... But then again it's all for a good cause and the outcome is what we all want!

I've now survived the weekend and have only 2 more days to go to my DR scan - I'm really excited but nervous at the same time! Hopefully it will not be too long before I can start stimm... :D

All the best to you both

Lot of love

Hi Januska

I agree everyday is so long, I know it only takes about 6 weeks to complete a course of IVF and 6 weeks in the grand scheme of things is nothing, but everyday is crucial to us and can mean the difference between our dreams coming true and not!!

Good luck with your scan, will be thinking of you.

I hope your job is not too bad

Take care

Hello everyone,
especiall Januska, I like you am new to the site, unfortunatley I am not new to IVF we are about to start our 3rd ICSI attempt, you are slightly ahead of me as I do not start my DR till 2nd Oct,
I have always been apprehensive about websites on previous IVF cycles, but after our last failure (Sept 2003) we realise it is you people that we all need to get us through. Its is supportive to speak to people who are going through all the emotions that you are! Good luck with your cycle, get ready for a rollocoaster and fingers crossed pitter patter of baby feet at the end!
Was wondering if anyone had had a single injection for DR rather tahn daily nasel spray or injectioons? as we have opeted for a different hospital this time and they use one sinlge injection for DR( which sound nicer anyway!) also anyone suffer from Endometriosis, I have just undergone my 3rd Laparoscopy 3 weeks ago ( i call it my MOT to clear me ready for this cycle, my husband has a low sperm count also anyone out there succesfull with these handicaps?

Love to hear from anyone, one very excited and scared aldy
G. xxxx

Hi Januska - how is it going? Are you stimming at the moment?

Gayle - how are you? There is a thread which I have joined on the general forum for October buddies, the ladies there will be more than happy to welcome you and answer your questions. I would not be able to cope without the support and help from all these lovely ladies, I just wish we were coming together in happier cirumstances.

Keep up the PMA
