Hi everyone, for some reason my computer has not been letting me know when there are messages posted on here, so I thought everyone was having a holiday or something.
Logged on just to check and to my surprise there have been a few messages I have missed. In future I will check in any case, and not wait to be notified.
Kim, I am sorry that your transfer did not work this time, we all know how devastating it is to discover that ALL your efforts have fallen by the wayside. It is good that you are considering going again, it will give you something to focus on. Take care, and hope to see you back soon.
Hi lisa, how are things with you?
Debra, nice to see you popping in. Hope the "counselling" helps. x
Anna, I was "showing" weeks ago. I have put on a bit of weight anyway, and they do say with your second pg, everything is already that little bit more stretched, so you do tend to be bigger earlier! I look more like 6 months gone rather than 4.5!!!! Have got my 18 week checkup tomorrow with the consultant - in for another long wait. Each time I have been, I have got into my appt at least 1.5 hours late! I shall take a book with me this time. Your 13 week scan is the day before my 20 week, so I willbe thinking of you, and hope all goes well for you. How are you feeling, any symptoms yet, or are you going to be one of the lucky ones who gets away with feeling completely normal?
Kat, glad that your dad is on the road to recovery. I can imagine how worrying it has been for you, having lost my mum nearly 20 years ago now!
Charlton, you poor thing, your head must be in a spin. It has been known on the odd occasion for IVF to work first time. Don't try and think too much in advance about your options until you know whether or not your IVF has been successful. If your first cycle fails but you responded better than they thought you would they may agree to another cycle! They did with me when I pushed them. Also, you can decide about donor egg or adoption when the time comes. All I would add to what the others have said is that with adoption you are getting a child that is not genetically connected to either of you, with donor egg, it is at least genetically your husband's and the fact that you carry the baby, that will bring a strong bond for you also. My donor egg baby IS mine. He/she is growing in my uterus and without me this baby just would not exist. I hope you are getting help from your doctors with your sleeping and anxiety. Take care.
Hey Tammy, how are you doing?
Hi to everyone else too, must go and get showered now, how slobby am I, I get up, have my breakfast in my dressing gown, read the paper, then log on to see what's been happening in the world of emails and now finally at 10am am thinking about getting dressed before our village postie knocks on the door with something for me to sign for. Very embarrassing if he catches me out.
More later,

I'm so sorry that your first IVF did not work. Don't give up. If you look at us pregnant ladies on here, none of us are pregnant from our first IVF.
Anna: Good luck with your 13 week scan. My 18.5 week scan will be on Oct. 5th, so it looks like several of us are scanning the first week of Oct.
Kat: Glad to hear that your father is doing well.
Bev: It is good to hear from you. I am starting to show as well. My belly is getting rounded. I have my first appt. with my OB/GYN this thursday when I should be ~16.5 weeks pregnant. I would love to talk the Dr. into performing an ultrasound to find the baby's sex.
Debra: It is good to hear from you as well. I hope you will pop in and let us know how you are doing from time to time.
Yasmina: We haven't heard from you for awhile. How are you? How is your new home and job?
Take care all,
Tammy

Bev, good to see you post. I was getting a bit worried when you hadn't posted for so long. Glad to see all is well. Hope the check up went Ok today. Any news? Sorry but I still have no symptoms...... really can't wait to stop with the pessaries and patches!
Kim, sorry to see your news. Hugs to you, take care x x

I just popped in to say that I am having a baby boy!!!! DH and I are so excited. The little guy was moving all over the place. He was kicking his legs and moving his arms. He finally moved his foot out of the way and we could see his little boy parts.
I'm still trying to get over this cold. I'm planning to stay home all weekend and rest.
Take care all,
Tammy

Hey Tammy, that is so exciting. I guess that means that you will not be using the name "Annalise" afterall!! I will be finding out what flavour we are expecting when I go for my 20 week scan on 3rd October. Hope you get rid of your cold soon.
Hi Anna, sorry if my absence gave you cause for concern. Just not much happening on this thread and I don't have much news to contribute at the moment. My check up was fine this week, had to wait nearly 2 hours beyond my appt time though, so consultant suggested that perhaps I should have my blood pressure checked more at home as it seems to have settled down a bit now. I guess if it goes up again, he will review the situation. All my bloods came back normal, I just have this renal scan to have now (next week) just to finally eliminate the hypertension theory. I can feel the little bub wriggling about now, such a lovely feeling, and reassuring also! You seem to be coping with your pg very well, no sickness, tiredness etc etc. Quite envious of you (in a nice way of course). Pessaries and patches, yep you'll want to bin those as soon as. The pessaries are such a mess, don't know about the patches, didn't use them, but they sound maybe a bit easier to deal with than the dreaded progesterone injections - my butt was like a pin cushion, lumpy and bruised, after 10 weeks!!
I'm off for a bit of Ben & Jerry's yummy icecream now - no wonder I am the size of a house, LOL.

Bev: Yes, it looks like we will not be using the name Annalise. We are thinking of naming our boy either Andrew or Patrick. I am so glad it is Friday, as it is difficult to teach when you are fighting a bad cold. I'm looking forward to the weekend. Do you have any feelings one way or the other on the sex of your baby? I always felt like mine was a boy.
Take care all,
Tammy

Bev, good to hear from you. Glad all is OK. Horrid to have to wait 2 hours for the apptmt though. Not long now until the 3rd and you can find out what flavour that little beanie is! Do you have a hunch? Amazing that you can feel beanie moving! I can't wait for that. Enjoy your ice cream....speak soon x
ps you will be pleased to hear that I am feeling very tired and my boobs are killing me!!
Tammy, many congrats...a boy!! Choosing a name seems a tricky task, especially working in a school when you connnect names to pupils! My school has 500 children and I have been there 9 years so it will be difficult to choose a name that doesn't remind me of a child I've taught! I hope your cold has subsided now and you are feeling better. Have a restful weekend x
Kim, hope you are OK. Thinking of you...hugs x
As for me... 4 days left of the dreaded pessaries phew! Seems to have gone on forever! Mustn't grumble Am so lucky to have got this far. Days are dragging slowly towards our next scan (2nd Oct), then we will start to tell friends and family. Then I will take a deep breath and go and tell my headteacher. Can't say she will be all that pleased, we have an Ofsted looming and I am her Deputy. I think she will be in shock for a while...she has absolutely no idea what has been going on. I arranged all my apptmts outside school time and invented a family emergency when I needed to go to Barcelona. Ahhh, not looking forward to this
hugs to all here, have a great weekend everyone

BevT- So pleased for you. Make the most of it, about the only time you can be fat and happy. Love and hugs to you and your baby. PS I found sticking the pessary in your bottom less messy and offset the constipation one gets with progesterone support. Sry ITMI
TeacherTam-Thanks, you have encouraged me to give it another try in Jan. Enjoy your pregnancy get as much rest as possible cos when your bundle of love gets here you will be permanently tired I told you to think of some boys names haaaa I love the name Patrick...Many congrats..
AMck- Bless you and your little bump. Will follow all your news waiting to see all the birth announcements on here.
This has been a great place to visit for a big warm hug.
See you in Jan.

Kim: Good to hear from you. I'm guessing that you are doing another IVF in Jan??
Bev: It is good to hear from you. I can't wait until you find out the sex of your baby. Do you have a strong feeling one way or the other as to the sex? I still have not felt my little baby moving, but I know he is. He was kicking like crazy during his last scan.
Anna: I'm glad to hear that you are doing well. I'm sure that you feel better now that you have started having symptoms. It is difficult to decide on a name. DH and I had it narrowed down to Andrew or Patrick, but DH prefers Andrew right now. Your next scan is just 1 week away. I bet you can't wait to tell friends and family! Are you going to work, after your baby is born? I'm cutting back on my teaching to just 2 days a week. Since I teach at 2 different colleges, it allows me to choose 2 days a week to teach. DH will come home early those days, and then I will go off to teach. My cold is getting better, but still has not totally subsided.
Yasmina: How are you?? We have not heard from you in awhile. I hope all is well.
Take care all,
Tammy

hi Tammy, thanks for message. In answer to your question...we haven't told anyone yet. We are waiting for the scan next week. I know we are being really cautious but I will feel better about telling people when I have seen the scan.
Do you know anything about children at school having 'slapped cheek'. One of my teachers confided in me today that she is 5 weeks pg and was worried because one of her pupils got sent home with slapped cheek syndrome. Apparently it's very contagious. Do you think it will harm her? We couldn't get through to the children's dr today to ask advise.
Hugs to you Kim xx
Bev haven't seen you post for a couple of days. Hope you are Ok, well and happy x
Am really chuffed today because I can stop my prog and oestrogen AND I finally worked out how to post a ticker! Little things I know, but worth celebrating!
Hugs to all here!

I don't get much time to browse the website these days as I'm kept very busy by my 10 month old twins, Katie & Ellie but I just happened to see a couple of your posts and it struck a chord with me. We went to IM in Barcelona too (isn't Dr Olivares gorgeous!) and were successful on our 3rd attempt. The 1st was a chemical pregnancy, th 2nd was failed FET.
I believe you are having them at Kingston hospital - so did we. I can't speak too highly of the treatment I had there.
Good luck for your scan on 2nd October & for the rest of your pregnancy.
Anna: Good luck on your upcoming scan. I've never heard of "slapped cheek" syndrome. The ticker is fun. It took me a couple of tries to get it to work properly
Take care all,
Tammy
