A faint positive is really encouraging!!!! My advice about future tests...DON'T! They drove me INSANE. My line did not get immediately darker...then it got lighter...I was SURE I was miscarrying. I analyzed it...looked at them a zillion times...it was really all too stressful.

Souris, Lisa – fellow OHSS sufferers! God, this is awful!! I felt SO BAD, and mine was just, supposedly, a fairly mild case of OHSS. I can’t imagine how bad you must have felt, Lisa, if you were hospitalized!! I was basically non-functioning all of Sat and most of Sun. The clinic even gave me a prescription for Tylenol with codeine. Still in pain today, but I can actually fit food in my stomach and air in lungs again. My abdomen was so distended, I looked about 5 mos pregnant. I went back to the clinic Sat and today for blood work and a scan. There are pockets of fluid around my ovaries, and the follicles are still as big as they were, filled with fluid. I’m supposed to do the ET on Wed, if all goes well with me, and with the little guys.
That’s the good news so far, BTW! As of this morning, there were two 5-cell embies, two 7-cell embies, one 8-cell, and one 9-cell. One of the 5-cells was slightly fragmented, but not too bad. The embryologist that called did say, though, that typically you lose about 50% between now and the transfer date two days later. But I'm hoping for all six to hang in there!
Well, time for me to get in my jammies and snug down for the night.

hCG starts the "cascade of events" that leads to OHSS.

Zirly I am still smiling reading this thread. You must be over the moon.
I love Aunty's stalk for you on the list. It is wonderful. I wonder if she will need one for me too. Well girls I really wish that there was a way to speed up this 2ww or even to level out my PMA. One minute I think yes it may have worked and the next I am down in the dumps again. I have got a HPT in the cupbaord but don't want to use it. We are now 11dp2dt so I guess a BFP could show up on it and that way I would know. But then again what if it negative and it really does my PMA in. I don't think I want to test really.
As for symptoms - well I really don't know. After EC I was really swollen and couldn't fit in any of my clothes. In fact I had to wear the same 2 skirts to work all last week as they were the only ones I could fasten. But that is now going down. Is this normal or a sign that the IVF hasn't worked. I still feel really tired but am also full of cold so that could be the reason for that. As for the smell thing that doesn't seem to be affecting me this morning, but then I am so bunged up I can't smell anything anyway.
What a nightmare. Him upstairs has got alot to answer for. If it is not enough that we have to go through IVF to have a child, we get this dreadful 2ww imposed on us. AAAHHHH!!!!
Well that is my rant over with. I will now try to return to normalitiy. The only good news is that we are interviewing 2 people today for our assistants job. If they are both ok DH wants each one to work an evening on trial so it looks like I might get a couple of nights off this week.
Aunty - Thank you once again for maintaining this thread. I was involved in a couple while I was doing IUI earlier this year and I have to say that this is the best one I have been on. I hope that your treatment is going well.
Paula - Hon how are you today? Has there been anymore developments over night. I just want you to know that I am sending you a really big ((((((((((HUG)))))))))))). Take care.

Yes I am here, and not in the plane... I was hospitalised sunday afternoon until this morning for OHSS. I am better today, still big, but feeling good.
But the plane is strictly forbidden in case of OHSS so I had to let my hubby go on his own...
Ok guys, I have a big question: I saw many many times on this site than in case of ohss, you should drink loads of water. But at the hospital, I have been put on a -no salt diet- and 1 liter of liquid per day max!!
So it worked, because I am better already. I guess I will go now and have a look at Ghost websites!
They did a pregnancy test, and of course it came back negative (4 days after transfer) but although I knew it would be -, i was a bit sad. And same thing at the scan, uterus empty. So I know it is way too early to see anything but I could not help worrying...
I do have a bit of AF types cramps, but hopefully af will not arrive before test date. DH wont be here on the 27th, and as I do not want ot be on my own, I think I will go at my mum in a couple of days...
Zirly, I wanted to say a BIG CONGRATULATION. It is so good to see a BFP!
Paula, please be strong until your test date, I know it is hard hun but you can do it

Souris i am so pleased you went for treatment i was so worried about you, im pleased your feeling better.. i have read that OHSS can help with implantation all the extra hormones maybe one and only good thing about it...yeah your right your little one wouldnt show up on test yet or a scan ...so we ignore that one. im sorry your on your own (not alone you have us) it will be good you can go to your moms.
Angela im so pleased to hear you are getting some help, as for the bloating its supposed to go down well for a couple of months 
once our ovaries recover from the abuse so thats normal....im excited for you. with the thread your so welcome thank you all for being here we have a great family going
Jemima its so fab your on your stimms....im am so excited for you and no you wont feel any OHSS yet you could be feeling your follies growing (thats cool) lets pray you have some nice looking follies on thursday.

I had a scan today and they have increased my menopur because the left ovary is not performing as it should be. My right side is fine and there are 10 follicles but only 1 on the left side. I have to go back for another scan on Friday.

haylie - we must have been posting at the same time.....
i had similiar problems and they also increased my menopur to max dose - it worked wonders and out of 7 follies got 6 eggs so something worked! Believe me I was really slow at the beginning!!

i had similiar problems and they also increased my menopur to max dose - it worked wonders and out of 7 follies got 6 eggs so something worked! Believe me I was really slow at the beginning!!

Hi Jackie (nimble) i know i made a boob when me and Jackie started the thread i meant to name it Sept/octo but then it wouldnt let me edit the title ...i know Jeck has an October thread but im sure she wouldnt mind ladys already here staying here..i know i dont test until 2nd week in october too... so yeah we can all stay here..if you want to we are family now i know i would miss you.

This is so not real to me. I took the First Response test againthis morning and once again a little redder- if there is such a word - second line!! My DH was very mad at me for testing. Then he came back 20 min later and asked - what did it say? Has anyoenhad a faint positive and a negative Beta? My last faint positiveI miscarried. I am very very nervous.
