Hi Ladies, this thread is busy today! Loads of great news too!

Would a list help? I must confess to being a list junky, hope you don't mind

Dione u/s 18th Sept...twins with strong heartbeats :D :D
Michelle u/s 19th Sept...twins with strong heartbeats :D :D
Lucyluna, first u/s 21 Sept
Anna, one beanie, :D 2nd u/s 2nd Oct
Rileydee, one beanie, :D next apptmt 9th Oct
Bridget, first u/s 9th Oct

Sorry if I got anything wrong or missed anyone. I can't scroll back any more on my screen!

Lucyluna sending you loads of luck for Thursday. Not long to wait now. Maybe twins !!!!

I was very interested about who told who and when. We have started planning who to tell first after our next scan. I am really dreading telling my work colleagues, don't know why...maybe because I'm so old none of them will have dreamt what has been going on over the past year and it may be a bit of a shock, especially my boss.

Bye for now
Hugs to all here

Anna thanks for the list--it really helps me personally keep track of everyone.

As for who to tell first--everyone lady. LOL--I hope your coworkers are super happy for you and don't say anything negative. Girl you are not to old--i do daycare and one of my daycare moms went through ivf and she has 3 year old twins that i do care for she was 43 when she had them. She is an awesome mom--she is so laid back and comfortable with it--i think age really helps in that.

Hi Ladies

Sorry to butt in but just wanted to reassure Anna about work colleagues. I felt exactly the same about telling work. I live in a rural area where people tend to marry and have children young, with mother's in their 40s unheard of! I didn't spill the beans until after my amnio at 18 weeks and although my colleagues were stunned, it was mostly because I had kept it a secret for such a long time! There are 4 other pregnant women at work and I am treated far differently to them....I receive small gifts almost daily, everyone grins stupidly at me when they pass by, I get constant reminders to eat, drink and go to the bathroom and my bathroom breaks are monitored to ensure I am drinking enough! The other pregnant ladies probably hate me!

I am absolutely blown away by the amount of support I have received and whenever I mention how old I am I am reassured that older mothers make better mothers!

I think you will find that once everyone knows the story (and they do tend to ask about IVF when you are older) they will be fabulous!

Good luck and best wishes to all

Hello everyone
I am new here. My first beta was (11dp5dt) 128. Is this a low number?
I am 5w3days pregnant. What precautions should I take?
My next ultrasound is on 10/5. My doctor office is at 2 1/2 hours drive.
Is it ok to drive for 2 1/2 hours to and fro.
Also I am on PIO shots. Will it go for 10 weeks?

Maya, welcome to this space! We are quickly growing in numbers on this site which is a great thing.
I will be 8 weeks tomorrow and am still on the PIO shots for another two weeks so yes, it does go 10 weeks (sorry!).
I think that the dr looks for a beta number above 100 so you are good to go. My DR wanted more than 100 at 13-14dp3dt so relax and admit that you are pregnant! Hard to believe I'm sure.
Take it easy, let someone else do the house work for a bit. I have been exhausted so far so I do what I can and when I get tired, I stop and take a nap. It's working for me.
Many congrats on your BFP. Isn't it exciting to join this side of the board?

Welcome Maya and Heather.

Maya, I don't think your number is too low. I also think that over 100 is a good sign.

Everyone: It is interesting to see how many of you are still on PIO shots! I stopped the day after I found out that I was pregnant (per doctor's orders). I am taking supositories 3 times daily, which let me tell you all is no fun (messy!). I am still so grateful that I am done with those injections and I really feel for you all. I will celebrate with you all on the days you get to stop them.

Thanks Lucyluna,
I tried to search on internet if long ( 2 1/2 ) hours road trip can make any bad impact on my pregnancy.
I talk to the Nurse (IVF) and she told me not to worry.
But still I am worried. I am thinking to to go to my OB who is nearer and ask them to send report to IVF doctor?

Thanks Anyway..

I'm pretty sure a long road trip won't hurt you or the baby, it just may be difficult when (or if) you develop morning sickness. I commute twice a week to school about an hour and a half away. For me it is a nice time to relax, which can be good for the baby. It can be a time for you to reconnect with yourself and your baby.

Good luck! I am sure whatever you choose will be right for you.

Hi Ladies,

I am 8 wks 5 days pregnant with 2 babies. Do you mind me joining your forum? This is my first ivf and I am only just starting to get afternoon sickness which is a total nuisance. I would love to go on this journey with you particularly since we are all so close in pregnancy time.

Lots of love
Rittie

Rittie,

Congratulations and welcome to the thread. You are right, we are all very close. This thread wlll be dull around April / May as we are all busy becoming mommies (second time mommy for me).
Enjoy your pregnancy!

Dione

By the way...I have tried and tried and for some reason cannot get my ticker to work. The link keeps disappearing from my profile. Any suggestions?

Quick poll here---so who is still on the PIO and for how long.
I have to continue taking them until our US. They are not to bad--i guess. We had to use the supps with our iui cycles and omg i thought they were the grossest things in the world--i think i would rather have the the shot.
Another question--not to be to graphic or personal but.........how many of your re's said no sex until after the US. Ours did but wow i sure could use some intimacy in my marriage. I am wondering if it is a standard suggestion or if our clinic is just being conservative?

Hi Ladies, happy Wednesday

Heather, Bridget, thank you so much for the messages of encouragement about telling collagues about being pg. Only a couple of weeks to go now...deep breath!

Maya, welcome and congratulations on your BFP. Your beta looks fine! Mine was 97 on 12dp2dt. So yours is great. The PIO shots I don't know about I'm afraid. I have been on progesterone pessaries x3 a day, same as Lucyluna. I need to keep taking them until I am 12 weeks. They are awful, can't wait to finish!

Rittie, hi and welcome. Congrats on your BFP. If you let me know the date of your next scan I will add it to our list!

Dione u/s 18th Sept...twins with strong heartbeats :D :D
Michelle u/s 19th Sept...twins with strong heartbeats :D :D
Lucyluna, first u/s 21 Sept
Anna, one beanie, :D 2nd u/s 2nd Oct
Rileydee, one beanie, :D next apptmt 9th Oct
Bridget, first u/s 9th Oct
Maya, first u/s 10th Oct
Rittie, twins :D :D

Lucyluna, hope all goes well tomorrow. Will be watching for your news

Hugs to all here
Bye for now
