painful ovaries

Post by demi »

i've been follwing this site since i had my first ivf, which was BFN but now with my second i had an awesome BFP with twins. i'm at 6 1/2 weeks now and hope to see the heartbeats on friday.

last saturday morning i woke up excruciating abdominal pain and nausea, ended up at the hospital. my doctor saw the sacs stay and said my ovaries were very large and possibly twisted, and they would go back to their normal size and condition with bed rest. it has now been 5 days and the pain is almost gone but i am not moving much.

has this happened to anyone else? how long does it take to get back to normal?

hi..There is a situation that your ovaries are too bi and they are too sensible to movements.think about they are twice big..and it is normal
I want you to ask you a question. We made a B HCg test 10 days after 3-day embryo transfer and our result was : 0,233...now we decided to do the test again 14.day...when was your first negative test done ?
I appricate what you answer

Hi Demi

Congratulations on your twins.

I also ended up in hopsital with pain at 6 weeks. They told me my right ovary was still the size of a gratefruit. I think I was still very uncomfortable until about 8-9 weeks.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow.

Best wishes

Jo

Hi Cinman, my B HCG test was done on day 14 after the 3-day transfer, my doctor didn't do any tests earlier. My first IVF was im May and negative, second one done in August was positive. I hope that your 14 day test will be BFP too.

Jo, thanks so much for your message! I was starting to think I was the only one that experienced this. 1-2 more weeks like this sounds scary but it's a big relief to know that things will be back to normal.

Have a great day! :D

Hi Demi

Although I wasn't hospitalised, I did suffer from mild OHSS following my BFP. I stayed bloated until about 14 weeks when the placenta took over from my ovaries. My clinic uses HCG as luteal phase support instead of progesterone and I don't think this helped at all. Hopefully you will be feeling much better soon!

Cheers

Heather, thanks for sharing your experience. I am feeling better now, but still can't stand or walk for too long. I'm hoping by week 14 I'll be back to normal.

By the way, we heard 2 heartbeats yesterday :D Best wishes to you all!
