Kristi I forgot to mention.... you look great. Really blooming and healthy. Why don't I look like that?

Hi Kareen, yep I'm still here although I would be happy for these babies to make an appearance now. Now because I am uncomfortable or anything, I just want to meet them!!!

Chelle, that little stinker girl of yours! It's funny because they say the babies may not be able to flip because there's not much room in there...yet you have two 6 lbers and she is flipping back & forth. Yeah, my doc kind of said what yours did....no matter how B is turned, he/she may move a different way after A comes out. Guess we're in for an exciting delivery!

Ok, I'm hoping you have yours this weekend too...36+ weeks sounds perfect and that's when I hope to deliver too.

Kareen, sorry to hear about the absess on your gums. I've heard that's very common to have teeeth/gum problems during pregnancy. I flossed everyday before getting pg and now my gums bleed every time I floss and they hurt. I've just crossed my fingers that I make it through with no issues. I was told antibiotics were ok to take also (had to take them for a dental procedure towards the beginning of my pregnancy).

Chellejaya you are so close..take it easy and keep us posted. I count the weeks now..before I did not....6 more to go, babies stay in there for 6 more weeks...

Hi KristiA: we don't have a long wait..I remember when we first started.

It's getting harder for me to walk to the mailbox now. So much pressure/weight from the babies. Sleeping is becoming more tiresome than restful....but it's all worth it.

Kareen: I hope your gums clear up asap.

Is anyone having a hard time eating: I find myself feeling full majority of the time, however I force myself to eat.

Ahart...yep, you & I have been together since the beginning of this journey! I'm glad I did so well eating my protein from weeks 20-30, because now I'm very full, like you said, and find it hard to eat a decent amount of food. I'm kind of back to doing what I did in the 1st T when I was sick...eat little portions every couple of hours.

I'm counting weeks too...and with each week it makes it all seem so much closer.

Is anyone else being bombarded with stories from other parents of twins about how hard it is? They say I'll go days without a shower, won't do my hair, forget about cooking a meal, won't know what sleep is like, etc. Sure sounds scary! But of course us IVF'ers have a different appreciation for it and maybe we'll find some great job in it all that it will overshadow the hard parts.

Ahart, thanks, I will defo keep you all posted. I want to have them this weekend.... Like I get a choice!!!!
Six weeks will fly by, trust me.
I too find it hard to sleep now. My DH has a terrible cold so he slept in the spare room last night and I had the best night's sleep in months.
Kristi, I agree about the fact that IVF'ers appriciate everything far more. When I hear the negative responses, I sit quiet and think to myself "You haven't got a clue". I know and am well prepared for the fact it is going to be very very tiring and we are going to have to dedicate ourselves completely for the first few weeks/months to sleepless nights, constant nappy (diaper) changes etc, but most of us have waited years for this.
I know I can't wait and look forward to the challenge.
It's funny, I have never seen one complaint on any of the forums on here, from the new mummy's, about the hard work.

I have waffled quite enough... I now have my mother/father in law on their way to see me for the day.... maybe this will bring on labour

That was too funny...maybe when they leave things will start to occur. I've never met my in-laws and next month will be our 1st year anniv....They live up north and we did not have a wedding..I met one of his sisters and one of his brothers before we got married....Thanksgiving will be the test for me...I talk to my MIL on the phone, she sounds like a decent and nice woman.......

Kareen - How are you feeling? Are your gums still playing havoc? Hope your abcess has gone gone gone!!!

Ahart - In-Laws, where do I start. Both my parents and my DH parents are divorced and remarried and don't get along, so we have four lots to contend with. When we got married we flew to Las Vegas and did it alone. The thought of a "Big Do" was a no-no. I am dreading when I have had the bubbies of families crossing paths.

Lumi, Long time no hear, how's things with you? How is it being back at work?

For anyone I have missed, hope you are well.

Chelle, don't be too freaked out by what the moms of other multiples say.

Just take a few truths to heart. There's two of them and one of you, so there will be tears - its not going to kill them to cry once in awhile.

They will gang up on you with both needing something at the same time, just get through. Meet the greater need first, then do the other.

Take care of yourself. Every morning I feed the girls, then put them down while I have a shower and get myself breakfast. They are still there when I'm done, and I feel ten times better.

If they keep you up all night, sleep all day with them, and don't feel guilty about it.

Leave the house - and I mean with the babies with your mom or your DH. Even if you just run out and get a coffee by yourself. Definitely saves your sanity.

Leave the house with them if you can. Bundle up the little angels and go to baby friendly places like the children's library.

And take time sometimes to think that yup, we did work very hard to get these guys - they are miracles. And it is still okay to feel somedays like you could sell them on ebay...lol.

It's wonderful to hear from you and thanks for your kind words.
I must admit, they brought a tear to my eye (maybe I'm extra emotional today) and it's so lovely to have friends like you on here to seek advise from.
I think out of all the advise and help given to me, your words have been the greatest and most honest and will stick in my mind.... thank you.

How are your little ones, growing fast I bet. Are you still breastfeeding?

Yup, still breast feeding. I have my girls on a schedule about half an hour apart so I can care for one, then the other. Mind you, sometimes they have other ideas than that. I just cope the best I can.

I'm still giving them at least a bottle a day, but Alyssa has decided she doesn't really care for the bottle, so it can be a struggle to convince her to drink it.

They are starting to smile, and OMG, does that ever make everything worthwhile. And I've started to bring them into bed with me after DH leaves for work in the morning, its our special time.

Hang in there, you're almost there.

Hey Chelle, yep I'm still here and well. I responded to your PM also. I was out of town this weekend for my last baby shower. I definately over-did it by being on the go for 3 days straight. Definately going to rest today. I see you are still around, so no big news for the weekend, huh? Of course today isn't over yet!

Denise, great to hear such positive things from you. I've had enough of people scaring me about how much work I'm in for. I'm also glad to hear you are still breastfeeding and have found a process that works well for you and the girls. I really want to breastfeed as long as I can too.

hello....

past few days ive noticed a change in my breathing.... walking upstairs last night exhausted me... is that normal?....
well im back to work this evening ... dont know how it will go... just the thought of walking about and being on my feet for hours fill me with dread. i see my doctor in 2 weeks time... last week he suggested me finishing work early.... my age puts me at risk ,.... i will see how these next few weeks go..

Hey Kareen! It's probably normal to be out of breath going upstairs at almost 20 weeks pg with twins. The ladies at work were laughing at me today because I was telling them a story and couldn't even tell the whole story without getting out of breath.

Chelle, I sure hope I don't beat you!!!! I posted this on the 3rd T thread. Hope you guys don't mind me doing a copy/paste and putting it here so I don't have to retype it.

I started signs of pre-term labor yesterday. Got checked at the doc. And I'm on bed rest now. I'm dialated to one (I know by itself that doesn't mean much), having contractions sometimes 10 minutes apart, sometimes 1/2 hour apart, bleeding, and Baby A's head has moved down and is pushing against my cervix (guess he's ready to come out). This is all so weird!! Will it be 2 days or 2 weeks or 4 weeks? It's weird not knowing. I can tell you that I've had small signs all week and haven't felt quite right...so it wasn't a surprise to me. Funny how we know our bodies so well.

I'm hoping to keep them in for 2 more weeks to get me to 36 weeks. Hopefully bed rest will help with that. I'm now getting checked twice a week (once at doc & once at the hospital for stress test).
