Need positive FET stories from anyone! (& Ghost)

Post by Corinna »

Hiya all.

Its me again. The paranoid one!!

I went for my scan today to check for signs of ovulation. I've been given some home ovulation kits to check for a surge over the weekend and I've gotta go back for another scan on Monday. I've done my "thaw plan" so it looks like I'm all set my transfer next week!!! :)

I am really worried though. I'm pinning everything on this FET cos we've been told that we may need to consider donor sperm for our next fresh ICSI if this FET doesn't work (DH is azoospermic). This could be our last chance to have a baby that is biologically DH's. I NEED it to work!!!

On our last ICSI I produced enough eggs and DH managed to produce enough tiddlers to give us 7 gorgeous embies. We had 2 transferred and have 3 frosties waiting. (2 embies died while culturing..)

From what I've read and heard, you have a better chance of a BFP from a FET if you had a BFP from your last fresh cycle. i.e the same "batch" of embies as your successful fresh cycle.

I got a BFN from my last ICSI which is worrying me. :?

You hear of ladies getting a BFP from a fresh cycle then getting a BFP from the "remaining" frosties. You rarely hear of a lady getting a BFN then getting a BFP..

If anyone can tell me that this is rubbish then I'd really appreciate it.

I really need some PMA right now.

Lots of love, Corinna xx

Hi Corinna. What day are they doing your transfer? I'm a first time IVFer and we're anticipating egg retrieval on 9/25, transfer on 9/27. I'm not only using my DH's frozen swimmers for ICSI, but we've even gone so far as to pay for donor back-up since they said his swimmers had very low mobility. Since we're paying for everything this is kind of a one shot deal for us. If it doesn't work I will try again, but just with donor swimmers since it's WAY less $.

Can you answer any ?'s. How bad was the retrieval? How long did you have to wait to find out if the results were positive/negative? How did you find out?

The girls in the dr's office today were talking about BFN from one frozen cycle and then BFP from a subsequent cycle of the same frozen embryos. I'll pray for you that everything comes out POSITIVE this time.

It's rubbish. I hear of that happening at our clinic around 100 times a year. Maybe more. Happens all the time.

I've read of a patient who had ten consecutive failed fresh cycles, then succeeded in her first FET.

Hi Corinna

I had a fresh IVF cycle back in July last year and ended up with severe OHSS so all my embryos were frozen. I had 2 medicated FET's both ended in a BFN. Then I had an unmedicated FET in June with our last frozen embryo and got a BFP and I am now 14 weeks pregnant :D :D :D

I do know other people that have had success from FET's but not from a fresh cycle so just try and relax (impossible I know :? ) and believe that it will work.

Sending you tons of baby dust

xx
