hello

congratulations on your bfp! Wow triplets. I'm not going through the same thing but when you said 'I understand that I have to do it' do you mean you have to reduce the numbers?
I hope they have given you enough information as there are thousands of women who carry triplets and have healthy babies. I have a friend with triplets and know of quite a few people with triplets who are all healthy.
i know the risks are higher but don't let doctors push you into something you don't really want to do.

hopefully someone here in the same boat can give you more advice. it must be a confusing time for you, I wish I could help more.

love terri

Hi abigail,
This is a very sensitive subject although multifetal reduction is very common.

I was in your shoes a few months ago, I was also pregnant with triplets and was told all the data for risks, moreover I also had some health problems that added to the risks. After analyzing all the pros and cons, me and dh decided to go ahead with the SR, it wasnt easy believe me, it was the most difficult thing i have ever had to do in my life. When i first mentioned this, some were very judgemental and so I did not get any support from friends or family members as we did not tell anyone. It was very emotional but essential to us. Finally we did it and its over now. I m now having twins and cant imagine what i would have gone thru with triplets.

This decision is very personal and u be careful of who you tell, and the decision is solely upto u and dh. You must do what u think is right for the two of u and the babies future and not worry about others. Whatever, decision u make should make u happy and comfortable thats what is important.

I have come across many triplet mommies who managed to give birth to healthy babies. Like terri says, triplet pregnancy is not as scary as it used to be once due to advanced medical technologies. So the decision is yours, and whatever u decide u must be comfortable with it always and never regret.

Feel free to PM me or ask me anything that may be of help to u.

Remember, I totally understand what u r going thru and will be here to support whatever decision u make.

This is one of the hardest decisions u will have to make -- but it is your decision. Dont let anyone else force a decision on you. Your heart will know what to do and what is right for your family. Everyone is different. Everyone's body is different. Everyone's finances, medical issues are different.

Go to a quiet place and meditate for a few hours and I am sure your answer will come to you and you can then be in peace knowing you made the right decision.

Please PM me if you want to talk more.

Hello

I just wanted to tell you that it is such a difficult decision to make, and it is very personal. if your doctors have a valid reason to offer you the selective reduction and feel in your heart its the right thing for you to do then think about it and consider it. But if you feel in your heart that its something you cant do and must go through with the triplets dont feel bad either, many studies have shown that there isnt much of a difference in twins and triplets pregnancies... The medical advances are so amazing now a days that you should consider every option you have before deciding on it, you have plenty of time to make a decision. DONT BE RUSHED INTO IT. I remember when everyone i knew was pushing me to have a reduction done for no reason, i have no health concerns, i am of good age and the embryos had no visible problems, yet every office i walked into suggested it, i later learned there is alot of money involved in reduction. I am currently 18 weeks pregnant with triplets and so far i am doing really well, THank God.. I just wanted to give you both sides of the scenario. But ultimately it is about the health of you and your babies and whats best for all of you. I wish you so much luck in this difficult decision making process. Pray on it you will get your answer.
With Gods Blessings BFP!

abigail,
Here is a link to Selective Reduction Board, there are many women out there who are facing the same problem. Hope u can find answer to your dilemma here.

Remember, dont be pressured or pushed by anyone's view or data, do ur own research and come to a decision thats best for u and your family. I agree with MB, each one of us and our health is different, so only u can make the decision.

Praying for u....
